Yeah you could turn it off anytime, but if you want to play with others that don't use it there was the hardcore variations of the gamemodes.

Oh right, Checkpoints. Okay, I can see why some dock points for difficulty; the first two Max Payne games on the consoles were probably hard as balls due to lacking quick saves, and it seems the third one is going ot have the same effect.
Here's hoping the PC version keeps the quick save / quick load.
Finished Max Payne 1 moments ago, never finished it on PC and as a kid got killed by the chopper, kinda traumatized me. Finished it first time ever on XBOX 360, but finishing t on PC has some finality, a book closed. Now I finally finished it and overcame my fright.
Next up Max Payne 2.

Gametrailers has always seemed to be bad with spoilers in their reviews. I remember in the review of Killzone 2 it showed both [sp]Jan Templar getting shot and that ISA chick getting killed[/sp], which were supposed to be big plot points in the game.
The MP of Max Payne 3 looks really fluid and smooth. Sorta like Uncharted but with Euphoria physics engine added in for extra lulz.

When I was going to preorder MP3, my mother came to me saying "Max Payne? Isn't that game with the nightmare scenes and what not? You still scared?"
I usually use Boolet Time to get myself the one second I need to react and make a tactic on the spot.
My fondest memories of Max Payne was playing the crap out of it in a friends place while in college, which was basically a flop-house. I got so incredibly hammered and tripped out one night that I awoke butt naked the next morning (covers fell off). A cleaning lady had discovered me and kindly woke me up with a poke to the abdomen with her broom, she probably thought I was dead. The TV still had the game up and I continued playing that next morning...fun times
