i think you're really overestimating how bad people want those games
diablo 3 is going to be the big kicker, not max payne. most consumer gamers could give less of a shit about it and the real market is in the PC userbase since that's what the game is geared towards
that's true but not completely, it also appears to a slightly younger gaming crowd that never got into diablo

The town i live in has about ~100,000 people and 3 gaming retailers, only one of which is opening for a midnight release for Diablo 3 and Max payne 3. To give you an idea, the wait till they ran out of copies when Halo: reach was released was till about 3am. I'm hardly overestimating a 1-2 hour wait for diablo 3 AND max payne at one retail store

The point of getting the Rockstar Pass is that you get all of the DLC for a cheap price, instead of if you don't buy it and get it individually.

10-12 hours for the campaign is good to hear, at least it's better than CoD's 4-hour Hollywood campaign.
I plan on buying this for PC on release day, hopefully some reviews will come out and make sure it isn't a shit port.

Great, Payne Effects crashes at the Mona level.
the games great, singleplayer is really great and tells the story well. multiplayer is surprisingly fun, the game is definelty worth it.

I'm tempted to just buy this game on the Xbox to satisfy my Payne lust but it might be in my best interest to just wait till the PC one comes around.

Payne Effects is glitchy as hell, and I just completed a Dead on Arrival run with it. Sometimes the sounds were slowmo for no reason, sometimes slowmo bugged out (and by the final level, shootdodging didn't give slowmo anymore either; it also became essentially useless after a single kill while using it, as Max & Mona would suddenly curl over in mid-air and stop shooting), the cover stance NEVER worked when I tried to use it, and for some reason, the slides started randomly occuring. During the platforming parts.
Cool mod but fucking hell that was extreme frustration.
Midnight release was pretty cool, lots of people were there for Diablo.
I was the last one in the store, picking up the Collector's Edition.
The guy ringing me up was excited for it, he asked if I wanted to unbox it there, so me him and the other employee opened it up and took a look at everything.
The statue is fucking sweet, 10" inches tall, Max has a little bullet hole through his jacket and one in his arm.
Great statue to place around the room.
About to hop on, can't wait.

I just came back from picking up Diablo 3 at gamestop for the midnight release.
They had Max Payne 3 up on the Xbox.
Bricks were shat and I jumped right on it, I have to say Its fucking amazing.
Everything felt so smooth, I cant wait for the PC version to come out now.
Even though I'm frustrated that its delayed on the PC... I'm just fucking glad it's coming on the PC in the first place. I love you Rockstar!

I'm hoping that the later PC release date means they really are giving the PC version a lot of attention. Hammering out bugs and whatnot.
Well, I wasn't expecting much freedom from a Max Payne game beyond how I tackle each fight. Sounds like Rockstar delivered on making this a good sequel. Solid story, decent length, Good mechanics and they didn't sacrifice SP for MP.

I'm sort of in a spot right now where I'm debating over going to my local Gamestop tomorrow and grabbing it for my PS3 or trying to hold out 2 weeks. I've been pretty bored recently. Not much to do at the moment and not many games are out. On the other hand, I'd really rather play it on PC since I dislike using my PS3. Two weeks is ridiculous for a series that began on PC.

IGN should let that guy have the voice in all the reviews. He has a much better voice than the other reviewers.
I got invited to join the crew after I sent a request but it doesn't show anything to accept it and it says I'm not in the crew still.
