what the fuck is this last stand bullshit in multiplayer? Or is this just fucking lag, but this one guy in a match i was in had some medium / heavy armour plating on and every time he would get down to 0 HP he would just lay down on the floor and you could put literally 200 bullets in his head and he would not die and he'd turn around and blow you away. He did this for 3 matches afterwards, only time he ever died was when someone ran up and kicked him (realistically..?)

lol.
That sounds exactly like the bullshit Uncharted 3 has. I hope that doesn't exist.

You sure about that? Its been a few months but don't remember anything like that in uncharted 3.

I quit out and the next 2 seperate matches i joined after that there was someone doing the exact same thing. The one person had a mic too and they said it was "lag" which in that case is fucking retarded bull shit.
Also, why the fuck are melee hits one hit kill? You can run around and shoot guys 6 times in the chest and they can live but if i get kicked in the chest i die instantly

Maybe K.O's count as kills?
I'll pre-order on Steam if there is a Pre-load. if not I'll pre-order retail.
But considering how big it is there will be a pre-load.
There better be a pre-load, It would kill me if i didn't get to play it on the 29th because of download times.
There most likely will be pre-load, most games on steam have it.
Fuck, even on my fast connection it'd take like 3 days to download...
The joys of retail...

The menu music is damn cool.
Yeah, I absolutely love the main menu. It changes depending on where you are in the game, and the music is great.
Does anyone know how big the PC version will be? I remember the requirements saying something like 30GB surely that's a stretch, I know GTA IV was like 16GB but 30 for this? Anyways preordered retail just a few minutes ago, now the wait with the rest of you.
Has their been anything said about what the "Old-School" and "Hardcore" difficulty modes are supposed to be?
With Max Payne 3 hitting shelves around the world this week for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, here's a starter edition of our Rockstar Game Tips series for Max Payne 3 to help you easily get into the game and start Bullet Timing® and Shootdodging™ your way to 100% glory. And look for many more Game Tips to come throughout the summer - including an overview on basic targeting and other options later this week plus some pro tips and tricks from our in-house Multiplayer experts and much more later on.
Difficulty settings: The Max Payne 3 Story can be played at five difficulty settings that can be adjusted on the fly and provide varying levels of challenge as follows:
Easy: Increased Health and Bullet Time® Rewards. A satisfying challenge
Medium: Moderate Health and Bullet Time Rewards. A stiff challenge
Hard: Low Health and Bullet Time Rewards. A real test
Hardcore: Minimal Health and Bullet Time rewards. Very challenging
Old School: Last Man Standing is disabled.
Medium is the default setting for all - so you can start the game and decide from there on the fly whether you'd like to adjust your difficulty for more of a challenge or an easier go as you play.
Easy and Medium settings feature dynamic difficulty which provides access to extra painkillers to help you pass particular parts of the game if you've died repeatedly. On Easy and Medium settings, when you die at a checkpoint, you restart the checkpoint with at least one full magazine of ammo in each gun (except grenade launchers) and the number of painkillers that you started with. For every three times you die at a checkpoint, you get one extra painkiller. So if you started a checkpoint with 2 painkillers, and died 3 times, on each subsequent retry of that checkpoint, you'd start with 3 painkillers. If you died 3 more times (6 total), you'd start with 4 painkillers on each subsequent restart. On Easy and Medium, this can continue until you are respawning with a full 9 painkillers.
On the Hard setting, there is also dynamic difficulty however it is intentionally much more limited to ensure a tougher go. On Hard, if you die 5 times, you will get a bonus painkiller on subsequent respawns, and if you've died 10 times, you can get one more. However, it will never give you bonus painkillers that make your total go above 2. So if you started a checkpoint with 1 painkiller and died 5 times, you'd start with 2; but if you died 5 more times (10 total), you would not get an extra - you would continue to respawn with 2. Likewise, if you start a checkpoint with 3 painkillers, you would never get a bonus painkiller in Hard mode.
Hardcore and Old School modes are unlocked by beating the Story on Hard difficulty.
How did you get to play with Mona? It always crashes when you start playing as Mona for me...
Guys. Guys. This game has the longest running credits I HAVE EVER FUCKING SEEN!...
It's been 22 minutes and the fucker is still rolling.
How did you get to play with Mona? It always crashes when you start playing as Mona for me...
I had to use a level selector to skip the 1st Mona stage.
Old School also disables cover.

Hey Dean,
Thanks for the email. The retro avatar is not part of the Special Edition. However, we do plan on making that available as an individual download. We haven’t announced if it will be priced as an individual download or if it will be one of the upcoming free DLCs, but do stay tuned for more details.
As for Old School mode, it’s a difficulty setting. Max isn’t allowed to take cover in the mode.
Cheers,

Can Max have a gorilla head in multiplayer?
I have no idea if its possible, so i'll ask...
Is there way to play on US release date from EU without consequences?
So who else is gonna play this on Old School mode for their first playthrough when they get this on pc?
Don't you have to beat it on Hard to unlock Old School?
Can Max have a gorilla head in multiplayer?
Probably. There are Max heads to unlock for I think every Multiplayer faction.
So who else is gonna play this on Old School mode for their first playthrough when they get this on pc?
If i can, i will. But i think you're supposed to beat hard more before playing it that way.
Max Payne should have his own spoken word rap album.

Is anybody else freezing on the xbox version?
Is anybody else freezing on the xbox version?
I haven't, but if it means anything I installed both discs onto the hard drive before-hand, because I expected some frame-rate problems.
i hope the ps3 multiplayer takes years to die
so its good then? I only played the campaign so far
Multiplayer is good, although it can be incredibly frustrating if you're not doing well.
