I played through a round of Gang Wars earlier tonight. I had no idea it was broken down into multiple "chapters" for that game mode. The time of day in the map even changed as the chapters progressed! That's really neat! I haven't even tried the mode where someone becomes Max Payne yet, but that's probably what I'll do next time I'm on. Right now I'm working on my review and I'm already at about 1,900 words just in talking about the single player for the game. I'm not even done yet on that part, so chances are I'm going to have to do a separate review for the Arcade mode and Multiplayer. I just can't get over how great Euphoria is and all of the little attention to detail aspects present in the game. Also to the person who asked: Yes, I murdered the hell out of that stripper. I may have also shot a pregnant lady later on in that particular level.

Someone invite me to the FP group. GT: VancityNucks
All the none deathmatch modes are saying I need to do the tutorial for those modes first. I do not see any of these tutorials?
Someone invite me to the FP group. GT: VancityNucks
http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/
Joined up.
Using the LAW, shootdodge and fire in midair, somehow hit myself with my own rocket and die. What the fuck, Rockstar
I have a couple questions about this game, seeing as I finally bit the bullet and preordered it. 1: How natural does the weapon damage feel for most guns? Do they make sense in terms of how much they do/ their worth? Hows the Mini - 14? I really like semi auto weapons, so this is something I look forward to. And on that note, how well do shotguns hold up? Something I saw when I watched some of the game play footage was how easy pistols were to aim and use, and it seemed like they were vastly superior to their 2 handed counterparts in the SMG, AR, and BR catergories. Seemed all about fancy diving and rolls and slo mo stuff, so is there a place for assault rifles? Or will I just have to invest into pistol upgrades?
why is it I keep seeing invincible players running around that don't even appear to be lagging, they cant kill you though either anyone else come across theses players
I'm not sure but it counts as an Easter egg, but on the cemetery level you can find [sp]Winterson, Horne, and Gognitti's graves.[/sp]

I would like to see a modding community support this game. What I expect to happen is someone is going to port the entire map of GTA 4 into Max payne 3 would be cool to free roam around as max payne, you could actually play with the procedural animation that you see when he dives. I like bopping my head up against a wall because it looks realistic :v:

I would normally cannon his dumb head through my windshields though to get that dumb scowl off his face. I would appreciate an answer to my questions btw. EDIT: Actually I have a couple questions; I've seen this a number of times in MP gameplay videos and it strikes me as very odd. This vid documents it the best. Essentially at the start of each match, and at various points inbetween I see players run to to the opposing spawn and neither shoot, nor get shot at. The guy who dies within the first few seconds of the match to the person playing literally charges them head on before breaking. Also, the hits on the silhouette for SMG deaths tend to be a bit low; like the majority of deaths by SMG I see, the people are almost always hit in the legs. Just a couple odd things I noticed, like I would imagine on the PC the person crossing in front of the enemy's garage opening would be perforated from at least 2 different angles farther in the garage, not rushed by some random person.
So I've requested an invite to the Facepunch Crew a while ago, but i haven't been accepted into the crew? Do i need to do something else?
Using the LAW is great in Payne Killer, it doesn't kill them usually, but it'll send them flying as a Ragdoll. I managed to hit Passos with a rocket, he went into bullet time and proceeded to shoot the fuck out of me as he flew threw the air.
Holy fucking shit, you can actually do that?
Last one for the night
A New York Minute is a huge pain in the ass. It's a fun mode, but it's a horrible feeling when you die. I wouldn't mind it if the game would let you skip the cut-scenes. I know they're supposed to be the loading screens, but christ, it's long.
A New York Minute is a huge pain in the ass.
Don't you mean...Payne in the ass? I'll show myself out.
I had that typed out actually. I just couldn't bring myself to post it. I applaud you.
EU console release today! Got the long impatient wait for the postman to turn up.
Only an hour or two to go.. I kind of like these waits. They make me all giddy.
Only an hour or two to go.. I kind of like these waits. They make me all giddy.
Agreed, and it's so worth it when it comes. The Royal Mail van just stopped outside my house, I was getting so excited he delivered a parcel next door then drove off hahaha. I was gutted. I'm guessing as usual though they'll deliver it with the bike guy.
Aww, fuck. No MP3 for me today, thanks to yesterday's worthless holiday. And no packages arrive in weekends in Finland so it's Monday for me. Should have waited a bit with that earlier post :v:
Fucking bullshit, I didn't get it today for some fucking reason. I'm never pre-ordering from Game again.
It's here!
Fucking bullshit, I didn't get it today for some fucking reason. I'm never pre-ordering from Game again.
Have you played MP1 and 2 just now? That's the way I'm going to spend the time waiting for MP3.
god damn is there any video on youtube that shows the weapon customization? (all i've seen is character and how many weapons there are, but no attachments or anything)
It's the standard stuff you'd find in any other game. Red dots, silencers, extended magazines, etc etc

If anything, the animations in the game are a serious compliment to the weapons. In terms of damage, you'll see most enemies go down in 5-8 shots from most guns, most revolvers take 2 or 3 well placed shots though or 1 headshot. I remember during Gang Wars, we had to assassinate a certain member of the enemy team to win the round. I ran to where they were all hiding out, fired my LAW into the room and got two kills, and then ran in with the empty LAW in one hand and my .38 aimed forward. The target was just getting up when I ran forward and shot him once in the head, it was a good feeling. 2) The Mini-14, so far, is my favorite gun. It can be fired fast, but stay accurate and has huge range. To be honest, I can see it being the first gun to get nerfed, it's just that accurate. 3) Shotguns work surprisingly well at medium range. They'd probably be easier to use in soft lock mode but they can hold their own in free aim. You just need to be quick on your aim, so I'd recommend getting the Bullet-time burst 4) Seeing as how I'm using the Mini-14 for everything, it all comes down to playstyle. You'll either see people using dual pistols or assault rifles in this game, maybe a shotgun every once in a while. Pistols can be really good because you can fire them fast with minimal recoil, but the Beretta is the only pistol with enough rounds to support that. I haven't seen anyone use the 1911 and the revolvers are too reliant on accurate shot placement. It all comes down to how you like to play. If you've got a lightweight class with SMGs or pistols, just run around like crazy. If you use a rifle, you'll be vulnerable to people rushing you with dual pistols, but you'll have a clear range advantage. Unless you're like me and you carry a Mac-10 along with your Mini-14.
Done playing for the night. I'm really struggling to finish this single player. The AI and difficulty is just stupid hard. I've died several times from bullets glitching through walls. It's truly amazing how fast the computer reacts to you rounding a corner or entering a room. There are times playing this where I just tell myself "this looks pretty awesome", and I've now realized that's the only thing keeping me from finishing the SP. The story is a jumbled mess, twists are boring, and the checkpoint system is horrible. I had to just turn the xbox off tonight due to the constant stream of deaths and re-doing the same area over and over again.
What are you! Some kind of hipster?!
I still can't over how amazing this game looks at times. Those skin shaders, the bleeding out and the blood seeping through clothes, hell even the world looks pretty darn realistic at most times with the exception of a few things here and there (and the sun rays which the game could do without, in all honesty, they're nice in some situations like interiors but it's just way too strong and un-natural looking compared to the rest of the game)
Finished the game last night, that final location was awesome for shootouts. Best part of the single player in my opinion. I'm glad I pushed through the game and finished it, because even though there are some things which really annoy and bother me, it's still an exciting high-budget thrill ride. The multiplayer on the other hand, completely caught me off guard. I was expecting a throw away mode that they included just to put words on the box, but it turns out it's my favorite part of this game. I'm still having issues with the controls though. There's something off about them, yet I can't figure out what it is. I swear the game has a mind of its own and just will randomly change the speed of my cursor. An example I can give is that the speed seems too fast when trying to aim at people far in the distance, then when I try to aim down the sights, it decides to go into a crawling speed and takes forever to move. Once I enter bullet time it speeds up and goes faster than my normal speed. Also aiming horizontal is faster than going vertical. I don't know what the fuck is going on, but its very frustrating. What is everyone's control settings? I have mine at 4 horizontal and 4 vertical, 10 acceleration, and all the aim assists turned off. I also sent off an invite to the Facepunch crew (gamertag: Kirby106). Perhaps now that the game is out in the EU, you guys will suffer with me on this issue...or perhaps I just suck at this game on a console.
