The single player of this game is so constricting. Every time I start to enjoy the gameplay I have my control wrenched away for the game to show me some shit I could already see, and then move me into the middle of the room. What the fuck is it with Rockstar and throwing me into a shitty piece of cover and surrounding me with enemies? Can they not just let me play the fucking game. It doesn't help that Max and the camera both seem to want to do their own thing. And neither of them want to do what I want them to.
What's everyone's MP set up? I either roll with dual SMGs (the M10 and something else. M129? I dunno.) and no body armor, or the second SMG I mentioned and that rifle with no body armor. It's fun to be able to move so quickly and yet still be able to pop players when needed.
I dual-wield the P292 and the 1911 with no body armor. I like to run fast and kill people when they least expect it.
Just completed the game on Hard... I feel victorious, angry and confused... Oh well, good game! Now onto multiplayer and harder difficulties.
Toys 'R' Us had it as their exclusive pre-order bonus, if I remember correctly.
If you pre-order on steam you get it as well iirc.
One thing bugs me in this game, entry wounds are larger than exit wounds
I can't remember if this was posted earlier, but if it was this is the full version. http://soundcloud.com/rockstargames/police-precinct-90-sec My response: Holy fuck I need this game's soundtrack.

I personally prefer the mini .30 w/ the 1911 and m9 as secondaries
Hope the PC version is good, noticed that the PC versions of MP1 and MP2 scored higher reviews and Metacritic score and the console versions got worse scores. I believe Max Payne is just a game that belongs on PC for total control.
How much can you customize your character? Can you change his/her voice or something like in gotham city imposters? I heard this character's voice in mp say something like "This one is offensive to the (my) eyes." and it sort of sounded like a wiseguy or something.

I could enjoy the game if it would just let me play it. At some point, it feels less like a game and more like a movie with little interactive bits every now and then. [editline]18th May 2012[/editline] Actually, come to think of it, the whole game just feels really overdone. There isn't an ounce of subtlety in the singleplayer story. Everything is thrown right in your face and is super stylized. Also the random text that shows up in the cutscenes just looks kind of cheesy. And the deathcam is really frustrating, because it doesn't show who killed you, it just shows you falling to the ground. So you have no idea what you may have done wrong half the time. And of course, you barely get to play the game because it interrupts you with cutscenes and scripted events at every turn. It feels like they were so focused on making a cinematic experience that they forgot to make a game.
Did we have a crew for MP3 on PC? I'm interested in joining that in anticipation of getting the game when it's released.

I've sent like 7 requests and still aren't in it :(
Holy shit the multiplayer is fun, I'll never win a deathmatch game though always 20 kills behind the lead.
It pisses me off when I never see the person in lead, so I don't have a chance to take off their killing spree.
Overall, disappointed with the multiplayer in the game and only satisfied with the singleplayer. Not really worth a purchase i'd say. Multiplayer doesn't have very good game modes, lack of any noticeable difference in any of the weapons / lack of weapons, the absolute worst spawn system of any shooter i've played, boring leveling system etc. just nothing to pull you in and it's lacking entirely. Singleplayer wasn't anything more than i expected either, was just the exact same as the other max paynes so i can't really complain there. EDIT: Bahaha, look to see who the funny rating is from, and it's from someone with a max payne avatar. Definitely not a butthurt fanboy
I loved the flashback levels in singleplayer. They really made me wish the game had taken place in New York again.
I'm glad they don't honestly, I don't want the game to suffer from "Fear syndrome" where every game is just 4 or so aesthetics jumbled up to make levels, San Paulo and New Jersey kept it fresh and was a nice change.

Posted on reddit, duel-wielding to the max. :v:
Beat the game on Medium Free Aim at just under 9 hours, picking up a bit less than half the clues and a few golden weapons along the way. It was one hell of a ride pretty much the entire way through but I really wish I could have [sp]taken care of that one mob boss in New Jersey[/sp]. That's the only thing I'm sad that the game didn't let me do.
Surprisingly many negative forum reviews. I'm still waiting on Postman Pat, but judging from the spoilerific Youtube videos, this game is very much Max Payne, not fully though. That would require Sam Lake making odd metaphors.

I like how they point out that Max's wife has been dead more years than he even knew she existed, and yet he's a drunken wreck still, despite the fact that he seemed to be able to hold it together pretty fine in Max Payne 2.

I don't know him yet, but Raul Passos seems like a genuinely cool character. For example in this one Payne Killer map Max has a vest and bandolier and 2 pistols. What does Raul have? A worn green coat and A FREAKING LMG.
