Exactly what I was thinking.
Not only that, I need a new graphics card now, seeing how I only have a GT 230.

You're not the only one. But I think I am.
I have an ATI 4200.
Yeah..it's temporary.. but still..
ati 4200..
I hope I can run this with my HD4870.
oh look, a game that doesn't just chuck achievements at you for menial things and people get annoyed because they aren't actually achieving jack shit, and not being rewarded just for playing it in the first place.
whelp, i'm late by a long shot on that one
I make one comment about the fucking achievements and you guys all lash out for no reason.
Seriously, calm the fuck down.

yeah but i've seen other people saying the same thing, mostly people I know. As I said, I was late with that one, but decided not to snip my comment entirely as that's a pussy thing to do. I didn't really notice that there was a whole nother page when I replied, so sorry for adding to the backlash when I didn't even realize there was one before hand
i hate how there's no dead man walking mode...
hopefully we get mod tools or some shit on dlc.
Waiting is killing me. I've already finished SS: TFE HD, played loads of Dota 2, got some achievements in KF and Max Payne 3 is still not released for PC/
I like how you're only citing things from the first a second game and completely misunderstanding me.
Rockstar obviously didn't like Mona. They go out of their way to say that Max didn't really like her. I'm saying that was bad writing and was really dumb, continuity wise.
I agree that Max was totally in love with her, but like I said before, Rockstar made it canon that Max wasn't in love with her, so that's that.

I mean seriously read my post, when in the name of fuck did I ever say that Max Payne 1 and 2 were wrong, or that I never played them? I was complaining that Rockstar trampled over continuity regarding Max Payne 3 by saying that Max didn't love Mona.
You don't decide if a game has bad writing, people do.
max was somewhat cautiously in love with mona.
he'd do stupid shit because of her and acted like they were madly in love but i always felt like it was a kind of fast paced love that's only around in the environment they're in-one where you could die at any moment.
i guess you could say not as emotionally invested. and it's completely understandable because max had lost his family and ever since has been stuck in an ever increasing pit of wallowing, regret and misery. so you can probably see why he wouldn't be emotionally invested, mona was just another way to take the pain away, and it is possible to love on a very shaky whim just for the high of being in love, cause max pmuch lost everything he loved.
mona was a fucking sociopath, or a psychopath, whichever of the two or somewhere on that spectrum. nuff said
I believe the game has good writing and that in terms of meta-critiquing, it's doing fairly well.
i always get choked up when i hear the first part of that cello riff...
max payne is such a rainy day video game.

You said that Max says he is over Mona at the graveyard bit. Knowing Max from the last two games, he will be lying to himself to stop him breaking down in the middle of a gunfight, because he is in the place where (possibly) Mona has been buried, where everyone he knew in the whole city is buried. Of course he will try and deny it to himself.
It's Shadbase, he can't draw a female character any other way.
Shadman drew her so that means she has a dick.
It's Shadbase
I'm surprised she's not being raped while gutting an animal.
multiplayer is great, when it fucking works
currently stuck in a loading screen that's been up for a good 3 minutes
before I kept getting into servers where I couldn't kill anyone or be killed, and before that I just couldn't get into a server with my party members at all (they'd get dropped or i'd get dropped or whatever)
in the past hour, i've had 1 match that's been good. for fuck sake
It's Shadbase, he can't draw
Fixed.

ahaha I just love how the camera smacks him and makes the noise...
Do you think the MP can make fun for a larger amount of time? I really want that game...it looks so amazing.

I'm really enjoying the multiplayer, it takes quite a while to level up.
How does the feature work when you're almost dead? Do you just need to kill another enemy to get health back? If so, is this disabled on the higher difficulties? I'm waiting for the PC version so I cant see for myself.
it takes quite a while in comparison to other games i've found, i've played about 5 hours of multiplayer and only up to like level 9 so far.
Also, if you want to unlock(as in, buy them once you've got to the level you can unlock them at) new items quickly playing payne killer is the best way, looting max's or passos body earns you 250 ingame credits and there's a new body really often, once got about 4000 credits in one round just doing that

it only happens if you have at least one pain killer left in your inventory or whatever, mp and sp, you have to kill the one that killed you but in SP it aims you in their general direction so it's not too bad. it's not like it makes you never die, you will still die a shit load

Im bad at this game
I'm currently on the last level of my third play through of Max Payne 3. I've played it on normal, Hard, and now playing on old school.
By this point I have the whole damn game memorized.
Gah, playing Max Payne 2 makes me realize even more how incredibly brief most gameplay segments of MP3 are.
How good is MP3, friends?
How good is MP3, friends?
Apparently it's a solid third-person-shooter, with a very difficult campaign (and some fake difficulty in that via spaced-out checkpoints and other certain factors) and very solid multiplayer.
It's not quite the Max Payne a lot of people wanted, but it works well as a Rockstar game on its own accord.

I agree, it is an outstanding game, but it is only Rockstar's rendition of Max Payne.
