My mostly spoiler free review of the single player component for Max Payne 3 is up. 17 minutes of crappy stick-figure drawings, though the information is quite in-depth. Video: [video=youtube;4tagE74nh_0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tagE74nh_0[/video] Link that has a text review (just the script I read for the video review) for those who hate my voice or hate my drawings: [URL]http://totalgamingnetwork.com/content.php?1547-Max-Payne-3-Single-Player-Review[/URL] (Also, YouTube is under the impression that my stick-figure drawings, my logo, and my voice don't have appropriate commercial use rights from the copyright owners... Which, you know, would be me.)

Bah. My video game show, Top Game, had exclusive footage before the game even got released! [video=youtube;OyASusdsRQI]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyASusdsRQI[/video]
The only challenge to this game is because they constantly throw you in the middle of a group of 30 enemies with barely any health. The cutscenes are great, the writing is great, graphics are great, but once all of that is done you're thrown back into the gameplay where 20-30 enemies run at you from all directions and you have one or two painkillers on you and a few pistols or SMGs. Every single time that's what they do, and it gets old about half way through the game

Max Payne 1 and 2 did the same thing, plus those two games had the added benefit of psychic AI that began pre-firing before you even rounded a corner most times.
I got a new gpu yesterday specifically for Max Payne 3. A GTX 560 ti. [img]http://sae.tweek.us/static/images/emoticons/cool.gif[/img] Now I just have to hope that the engine isn't as cpu intensive as GTA IV was.
I got the same old PC that can't run GTA IV for Max Payne 3 yet I ordered the Collector's edition. Am I doing it right?

Just preordered my copy for 38€. Now, we play the waiting game.
zips, you're awesome!
[QUOTE=Jackald;36032590]Zips, have you considered hiring a cartoonist to draw for you? I like these reviews because they aren't spoilerific. [SUB][SUB][SUB][SUB]also have you considered hiring any new writers...[/SUB][/SUB][/SUB][/SUB][/QUOTE] Thanks. Well, "hiring" would be difficult in that I don't make any money from TGN. So unless they would like to be paid in lint or a Cherry Coke, I'm afraid I can't do that. Until such a time, however, awesome mouse drawn Photoshop slides it is! It also doesn't help matters that I write left handed, so being creative with my right hand in a drawing sense, especially when using a mouse, is just double the trouble. [sub][sub][sub][sub]As for new writers, I haven't had any volunteers. It's just running, well... everything.[/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]
Just played through the first two games in one sitting. Why did I never beat these games before.
Finally beat the Campaign after taking my time with it and not rushing. Awesome game. It was obviously very different from the first two which are some of my favorite games but it is still an amazing game. Nothing is more satisfying than getting those slow-mo cams of a BRUTAL headshot. Some things I did not like was the post editing with the fuzzyness and random lens flare. I thought it was a tad overdone at times. I also felt this game was at times unnecessarily difficult at times due to bad placements of checkpoints and scarce ammo/pain killers. This is my first Max Payne on a console so this might be a factor into why I found the game difficult at times. At one beggining part of the game I changed the difficulty to easy to see the difference but quickly went back to normal. Even though I played 98% of the game on Normal, I did not recieve the achievement for beating the campaign on Normal. :(
I'm curious to see if people are going to complain over the difficulty once we see the PC version. Something tells me that a lot of issues people are having are simply over controls and aiming. I haven't had an opportunity to play myself yet so I may be mistaken.

In Max Payne 1 and 2 I usually had 3-4 painkillers as I searched around for secrets whenever I could, I often had the full 8 too. In 3 I rarely had more than 2, if that, and I never had more than 4 at a time. Plus Max Payne 3 keeps taking control away from you and slapping you into a retarded piece of cover in the middle of a load of enemies, where the first 2 game would just let you walk in the door and fight them with no interuption.

They're really cool on the first playthrough, but when I just want to replay a mission, they're incredibly annoying. Hopefully the PC version will have shorter load times, so that it's possible to skip cutscenes quicker.

I died a crap load in 2 as well, just as I ended up doing in 3. So yeah, the difficulty across the series and platforms seems like it holds up going into 3, if this is any indication.
From my personal experience, I could keep momentum in the first two games, and breeze through it killing enemies on any difficulty. But with MP3 you have to be real careful about everything you're doing, especially with the delays in control and the AI and such. I don't mind the challenge, but if I just want to see some action without any momentum killers, then I can't really go in and do that. I love the game and how it does some things, but I can understand people wanting to keep up freedom and momentum from the first two games.
[QUOTE=Slacker996;36029705]How good is MP3, friends?[/QUOTE] I just finished the SP and I liked it, alot. I know alot of people wanted something else but it was an interesting spin on the series and small details like the fact that (unless you speak Portugese) you can't understand a word anyone says most of the time give it incredible imersion IMO. [editline]21st May 2012[/editline] There are some complaints though.

[QUOTE=GameAdict;36025100]Exactly what I was thinking. Not only that, I need a new graphics card now, seeing how I only have a GT 230.[/QUOTE] 8800 GTS represent! Think I'm gonna upgrade to a GTX 550 Ti or 560 Ti; would that be good enough for 1280x1024?
Yes.
i'm still trying to imagine max payne 3 if it had the same narration as max payne 1... it just doesn't really work in my mind. What made the first game's narration work so well, imo, is that the face was that of the person that wrote all the narration. Even if the voice was by a different guy, it genuinely seemed like the narration was that of max, if that makes sense. It didn't work quite as well in max payne 2 but it was still nice, and I just cannot imagine that working anywhere near as well as that in max payne 3 simply because of how different he looks, how old he's gotten etc
I would imagine it would work better in Max Payne 3 than it did in Max Payne 2, because the guy who actually does the voice is now Max.
I'm getting a drawing done of me as Max Payne. What outfit should I use? max payne 1 costume
First image in the suit is my favorite outfit, personally.
Either the first or second image.

Wow.[/I]
I wonder if I can get giddy today.. My copy should be here in a few hours.
