Rented from Redbox on 360, just finished Disc 1. Very satisfied so far, gunplay feels very nice and controls well. My only complaint is the fact that Redbox only carries one disc due to their shitty rule against not letting people rent multiple discs, then again that's not a complaint against the game more of a complaint against Redbox, but oh well. That said though Disc 1's ending made me really excited for the rest of the game, now I just have to wait until June 1st to play through the rest of it. Time to play through part 1 again!
Truly the best way to kill someone is to fall through the glass tiles on the Hoboken rooftop, hit a ceiling fan as you fall down and then flop of the ground next to an enemy, looking at each other for a moment before shooting him in the head with your .308
Heres hoping pre-load starts early this week.
that last fight must have killed me at least 8 times, that fucking grenade launcher always got me when i killed everything else
Holy shit that part is definitely the hardest in the game. it took me forever to beat
Even though I've played the game a fair bit at this point, I still find it a tad jarring when I hear reused GTA IV screaming/pain sounds. I'm still not sure if that's meant to be a feature/easter egg like the Wilhelm scream in RDR or if they just didn't have enough time to record more pain sounds for MP3.
I don't know if it's been posted about yet or not, but is there any word about a preloading ETA? Or if there will be preloading at all?
For people who have finished the game, how is the re-playability? I played through Max Payne 2 about 5 times and that one level in the apartment (The Million Dollar Question) hundreds of times.

There are also 5 cheat codes that you can unlock by completing certain criteria (ex: you can unlock unlimited ammo by collecting all golden gun parts in the game, or unlimited bulletime by getting gold medal on every score attack level, all to the final cheat one hit kill, which you get by beating the game on hardcore using free-aim only). There's also the arcade mode which I have yet to try, but there's 3 gamemodes in it, scoreattack, New York Minute, and New York Minute Hardcore. In addition to multiplayer, you have a fantastic singleplayer campaign that's just great to play on it's own, so yeah I'd say the game has some replayablity.

You can replay all the missions in arcade with skipping all the cut scenes. There's a few cheats you have to unlock though like infinite painkillers, unlimited ammo, shit like that. Oh and you can change different versions of max during missions if you beat the game on medium. The campaign was overall very satisfying and replayability should last a long time.
anyone finding re-beating the game on hard with free aim a pain in the ass? i mean, the cutscenes are so long and the loading times are horribad seriously, the console version of this really needs to add an option to disable cutscenes and just have a loading screen
Good lord, yes. I wish I just started the game on hard.
Does installing the discs to your hard drive do anything? (If you're playing on Xbox)
Does installing the discs to your hard drive do anything? (If you're playing on Xbox)
Slightly reduces some of the load times, which is about on par with every other game you install to your HDD for the 360.

WHENEVER it comes out.
is it just me or are some of the spawn positions in multiplayer shit? numerous times I have spawned in only to get shot in the back instantly.
I'm not even going to bother with New York Minute Hardcore. You have to complete the game from start to finish in one single run on time and without dying, on Hardcore.

Rocking the absolutely free LA Noire with full graphix is pretty nice while waiting for MP3. I mean I would have never bought the piece of shit but it's pretty awesome, the facial animations and all. Not to mention throwing a suspect off a rooftop (he made me break a sweat, deserved it), and sending a child molester to gas chamber while letting a wife killer go free.
Okay, so your telling me that Golden Guns, In Multiplayer, Have more damage and ammo than normal guns?
Okay, so your telling me that Golden Guns, In Multiplayer, Have more damage and ammo than normal guns?
No, it only matters in SP.
Oh thank fuck for that. I hate golden weapons. Let's have some Page King Content. [thumb]http://th05.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2012/137/9/c/max_payne_3_by_patrickbrown-d502sgc.jpg[/thumb]
Actually, on the subject of desert eagles, how good are they? I always prefer mag loaded weapons to revolvers myself.
Actually, on the subject of desert eagles, how good are they? I always prefer mag loaded weapons to revolvers myself.
I liked the Bull much better. For some reason the Deagle didn't seem as powerful as it could be.
Loved this song in the terminal

Max Payne 3 is pretty much the only shooter I am hyped about in this period of the year. For those that tried the multiplayer on consoles, how is it?

HNGGGHHH... I just played a couple of rounds in multiplayer. I don't remember the spawns being THIS bad before. I've already lost track of how many times I've spawned in now only to die immediately without even a chance to look around or move. Edit: Also what in the hell is up with my teammates suddenly switching to bad guys at random points? I don't just mean one person, I mean the ENTIRE opposing team. It's not team switching happening to me either.
