So in America you pay for speed not data limits?
[editline]31st May 2012[/editline]
Glad I'm picking this up retail
It's like that in the UK too, they just throttle everything though, I pay for 100mb Fiberoptic and get about 10mb on steam
[editline]31st May 2012[/editline]
I shouldn't have cancelled my retail order, siiiigggh
What? You should call or something. I get 5 MB/s for $80 a month. And that's with a house phone too.
We call our isp several times a month complaining and they'll either put us on hold for about 45 minutes or send a guy over to look at our cables for about $200. This is also the fastest speeds we can get without spending more than $100 a month. They're being bought out by Optimum Online though so hopefully we should get decent speeds in this town.
America ISPs don't have cap limits.
Really? I thought they did. I'm reading about providers capping the data downloaded per month all the time. :v:

What speed did you pay for?

Most don't I think. American ISPs having Caps is a recent thing.
What speed did you pay for?
1.5 mb down and something like 0.2 up. We haven't had those speeds since the first month we had this plan.

Odd. I've seen most people tricked because the provider says mbps and they think its megabytes, not megabits.
I'm not really concerned about how long it will take me to download the game (I was just planning on leaving it overnight, and during my classes if it still wasn't finished by then), since I'm just hoping that I'll actually be able to download it.
Whats a good res to run MP2 on Win7 without it looking squished?
also, everyone stop being such a cry baby about the pre load
What's your max resolution? I run Max Payne 2 in 1920x1080 and still looks fine...
[editline]30th May 2012[/editline]
And do you even know the back story on why people are complaining?

What did you do to not make it looks stretched? Every time I try to play in a 16:9 resolution Max looks like he weighs 300 lbs.
Nothing.

Nothing, I left the game decide for itself. No letter box, no squishing. Perfectly normal
Look's like it's being released on the 31st of May now, not the 1st of June

The store countdown does look like it's leading up to a midnight release. So yay.

It would be great if we could actually download it before that time.

I'm sure preload will be sometime tomorrow, so we'll have most of the day to download before it unlocks.
I hope it's enough time though...

He might be in an earlier time zone. So it would say the 31st not the 1st.

Midnight here. Eastern time.
I have to wait for my retail special edition for me. However, it all works out, as I got work until 5, then 4-disc installation, then Max Payne most of the weekend so I can study before an exam.
It's all going to plan!
Hopefully Valve gives me my refund before midnight tomorrow. I don't want to get stuck having to endure the 48 hour download.

I have no cap and pretty okay download speeds.
Steam says it releases on May 31st instead of June 1st, and yet I get this:

Weird.
