This thread is so starved for content we are talking about how good men look with long hair
Finished Max Payne 1 for the first time yesterday after playing it all in one sitting. Just finished Max Payne 2 for the first time after playing it all day. Preload complete. 6 hours. I am ready.

I don't get why I'm so dumb to buy it in the last minute, when there's been pre-purchase deals for like, 3 months, and I've been knowing since it was announced that it would be a first day purchase... Did the same thing with Skyrim when it was released, bought it like 3 hours before it was unlocked. And holy shit, 29gbs? I'll go to bed.
It'll be interesting hearing what you think since you played MP1 + MP2 fresh immediately before MP3.
I will report my experience ASAP.
I hope R*'s claims about if you meet the High Recommended specs, you'll get 60fps constant are true.
Argh, 6 hour download Looks like it'll be done either right before release or right after
I hope to god that this is well optimised.
It seems to be based on the system requirements.
I hope R*'s claims about if you meet the High Recommended specs, you'll get 60fps constant are true.
With their optimization track record and by how demanding the game looks I doubt it, at least at 1080p resolution that is.
can i play now i want to play now
I dunno, I know it's a different studio, but LA Noire ran pretty nicely. [editline]31st May 2012[/editline] I know that feel bro. I'm a few minutes away from listing the things I want: by Max Payne... oh shit! The monologuing! It's starting again with practiced bravado. I'd better go to bed now before the cold light of day shattered any trace of self respect from my head
He said the monologue, playing it bogart like he'd done it a thousand times before. [editline]1st June 2012[/editline] I'm thinking about getting a few hours sleep then waking up at 4-4:30 am for the game. Good idea?
I dunno, I know it's a different studio, but LA Noire ran pretty nicely.
What? LA Noire ran like crap for me on an i5 2500k, GTX 580, 8GB Ram
What? LA Noire ran like crap for me on an i5 2500k, GTX 580, 8GB Ram
Ran perfectly for me AMD Phenom II X6 1100T, ATI Radeon HD 6870, 8GB RAM
I'm thinking about getting a few hours sleep then waking up at 4-4:30 am for the game. Good idea?
Well I always stayed up if something came out at 3 or 4 am and I thought that was a good idea, so yea, yours is great!
Ran perfectly for me AMD Phenom II X6 1100T, ATI Radeon HD 6870, 8GB RAM
What settings though?
I dunno, I know it's a different studio, but LA Noire ran pretty nicely
Wasn't the same engine so you can't judge that.
What settings though?
Runs flawlessly for me. i7 2600K, GTX 580, 8GB RAM.
I still can't believe that I am about to play this.
I still can't believe that I am about to play this.
I still can't believe I only have 6 gbs downloaded.
I still can't believe I only have 6 gbs downloaded.
At least you're downloading it. I can't get on my computer until like 30 minutes before release. Shit.
What? LA Noire ran like crap for me on an i5 2500k, GTX 580, 8GB Ram
On i5 2500k and GTX560ti it ran well for me
I have an i5 2500, ATI 6770 and 4GB ram. I'm expecting to play Max Payne 3: Blur and Doughy Flat Textures
Started about 12, it's 6:48 PM central here now, and i've got about 29% down. sheesh boo-boo. And the most I can hope for is the game to be optimized and run well on my end. L.A. Noire doesn't like me much but then that could just be that it's a shoddy port.
Wasn't it a branch of the RAGE engine in the same way Left 4 Dead is a branch of the source engine?
No it wasn't. It was on an in-house engine made by Team Bondi. 42% complete now and steam says it will take another 2 and a half hours to complete if its to be trusted. So I'll be all set for the midnight launch- just in time for steam to tell me the game is unavailable, and to try again later. Now 43.6% jeeze, now 44.6% I'm cruising right along.
The game gets rather easy on the second playthrough, even when upping the difficulty and using free aim. I guess you just adapt to all the nuances.

If anyone is looking for a crew to join up with, I made a Mass Effect based one called Clan Urdnot. You can join if you want, just make sure you like Mass Effect :v:. If you join, add me on steam and we can get to know each other before we play together. http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/crew/clan_urdnot
