I disagree with all your points excluding this one, but my reasoning is opinionated so I'll leave those at the door.
With a prebuilt computer ( which is the general population and their general desire to buy a prebuilt rather than save a great deal of money by building it themselves ), it's hard to match the experience with the initial price ( even if you get slowly nickled and dimed with Live / Online and the strange 10 dollar markup thing that was going on ) that either console comes to at the register.
If people built their own computers rather than getting prebuilts, and I mean nearly everyone rather than just some people, this point would stop meaning anything. Of course, there'd be no exclusives and everyone would have access to all games while we're dreaming.
Most pre-builts these days can run Crysis. Although that's not really a great feat anymore, Crysis is still one of the more demanding games.

Oh god damnit, something's wrong with me, it made no sense of what you said. If you disagree with everything except this, why did you quote stuff you agree with?
Average joe can't and does not want to build a computer. Hence why a lot of people buy a mac. It's shiny and ready to use. Even my dad, who I thought was a smart person, laughed at me when I said I want to build my next computer myself instead of buying prebuilt.

Luckily my father is (was) a gamer himself and supports the fact I like to build computers. Then he met my step-mum... Now they have a Mac :ohdear:

Because PC games are getting shittier because of consoles.
That means PC ins't "perfect",and consoles are getting better.
If you say "No consoles suck pc ftw",then you are obvious PC fanboy.
If you want to play games,buy Xbox and play them without worrying about updating its specs every 6 months.
I usually use Xbox for newer single player games,PC is dominant in online gaming,so I use PC mostly for Valve games,and some other ones I find online.
I can't remember last time when I played single player game on PC...

I haven't upgraded in three years (Except changing my PSU) and I can run any new game on medium-high, most of them on high details.
And that means that consoles suck, and that the PC is getting dumbed down, so that it isn't a monopoly in a way.

Are you fucking stupid? The reason PC games are getting dumbed down is because game companies decide to release games on all platforms (they make more money that way) which requires them to be severely dumbed down so that they are able to run on consoles. That just shows that consoles are starting to age, hopefully when the next-gen consoles come they are able to stand up to PC's.

Alan Wake was announced at E3 2005. Microsoft partnered with Remedy to release the game for the Xbox 360 and as a DirectX 10-only title for Windows Vista.

This isn't entirely accurate, it's not dying, well it is, but it's dying from multiple knife wounds in the back from developers. It's being killed.
I wasn't that bothered about this game anyway, it's just a shame when magazines run massive previews the day before they shit out an exclusivity announcement, or even the day after they go to press...
They could atleast give us the actual reason for doing this, eveyone can see that reason is bullshit.
PC Gaming is not dying and don't turn it into that debate.
Buying a console because it has exclusives has no merit, because if there were no consoles all of those games would be on the PC.
