why did it end i wanted to watch the rest
"I would call for this, his wife went into labor. He's not available." Eli?
When he said "Bill", I was hoping he was going to call Bill Nye.
What the fuck i just watched:v:
You watched a Garg kill Freeman. What's it look like?
When he said "Bill", I was hoping he was going to call Bill Nye.
You expect Bill Nye, but don't even think for a second about Bill Overbeck? You simply cannot be serious.
I think you should discuss this kind of matter in another thread. :v:
Come on, it'd be pretty badass riding a Gargantua that's jumping about and setting shit on fire, burning the people you didnt like
Come on, it'd be pretty badass riding a Gargantua that's jumping about and setting shit on fire, burning the people you didnt like
This is no place for your weird ass-on-Garg-head domineering fantasy. :v:
You expect Bill Nye, but don't even think for a second about Bill Overbeck? You simply cannot be serious.
But Bill Nye the Science Guy.
Anyone else think the alien grunts, and the Gargantua were roided up vorts made by the Combine?
Anyone else think the alien grunts, and the Gargantua were roided up vorts made by the Combine?
think it'd be more the combine's style to turn them into synths. might be the nihilanth's work, though.
think it'd be more the combine's style to turn them into synths. might be the nihilanth's work, though.
You don't consider the Garg to be a synth?
possibly...
Anyone else think the alien grunts, and the Gargantua were roided up vorts made by the Combine?
No. Nothing suggests they had anything to do with the combine. Their appearance and weapons are not like any of the Combine stuff we have seen. The Nihilanth was running away from the Combine, it wouldn't make sense for him to have an army of their stuff. Nothing suggests the Combine are involved. The Vortigaunts and Grunts have a few similar features though, such as the arm on the chest, the eyes and the legs, so i suppose it is possible they were based off Vortigaunts, but they seem to just be a similar species manufactured to fight. Nothing at all suggests that for the Gargantua though.
I thought the mechanical lower body of the nihilanth foreshadows/implies combine involvement.
I thought the mechanical lower body of the nihilanth foreshadows/implies combine involvement.
And that it has cuffs.
The combine had already taken over Xen at that point and the Nihilanth sent the Vorts And Grunts to try to escape their rule. If the combine had sent them, then the Seven Hour War would've occurred while Gordon was there. (I apologize for weird writing, I am using my brand new iPod touch and I don't have the hang of the keyboard just yet)

Xen was where Nihilanth and the Vorts were hiding out while fleeing from the combine. They simply decided to invade Earth because they saw the opportunity
Is that right? I could've sworn they already had been taken over. Ah well.
I hope the Gargantuan makes an appearance in Half Life 3, It was just so fucking bad-ass, Imagine that beating the shit out of combine soldiers and jeeps.
I can deal with the explanation that the vorti-kind had fled to xen to escape the combine, but I haven't seen any explanation for Nihilanth's appearance. It's not just the cuffs, his entire body looks synth-like, an organic patch-work suspended on top of a metallic hovering device. And that frictions with the idea that nihilanth is helping the vortigaunts escape to earth.

He seems pretty big and powerful, he might have been able to force his way out.
http://www.halflife3beta.com/ I know i posted this before, but i just checked again and shits going down
Still looks like BS
So I got the Half Life Collection for ten bucks when it was on sale as a flash deal. Having never played any Half Life game going into the first ever one is quite interesting. For 1998(?) it's pretty damn good. Can't wait to play the rest of them and see if Half Life 3 really is worth the wait.

Where have you been? No hard feelings, just sayin. Anyways, yeah if you are going through the entire main series, Half-Life is great, especially to compare it to how much of a leap it was when Half-Life 2 came out. I hope HL2 will blow your fuckin mind like it did mine.
Just keep in mind that it's an old game and you'll probably enjoy it tons. Some of the things that were considered pretty mindblowing back in the day may seem rather quaint by today's standards :v:

Didn't really use Steam until I found out TF2 was F2P.
