Pretty sure Combine Guards were just completely transformed humans, the human synths of their Army..

There were crab and mortar synths, but they were in the citadel.
The combine guards were only transhumans, the same type as the soldiers. They were in huge ass suits of Armour though.
I hope we get to fight the Crab things in the next game. I'd imagine they could be pulled off really well.
You know what I have always wanted to see? Half-Life 2: Survivor ported to pc as a mod, if it doesn't get ported loads of half life 2 fans will never get a chance to experience it, which is a big shame.
Agreed so much. There's so many little quirks (Fembine?) that make it seem so weird compared to the main game that I'd give it a shot based purely on novelty if nothing else.
Valve had a cabinet at their HQ when the game was launched... I have no idea if its still there. But if I ever end up touring Valve (like every Valve fan seems to eventually do), number one on my request list is to play it.
You know what I have always wanted to see? Half-Life 2: Survivor ported to pc as a mod
Why, speak of the devil! It just so happens that good ole Filip has a copy of the arcade game:

I don't know what he plans to do with it, but it appears to be nothing. However, if someone intends on preserving HL2: Survivor before it's lost forever to the ravages of time, they better do it soon since the game has long since been on the verge of total extinction. Taito ended the service in early 2010 as few arcade cabinets were left remaining even back then, most already having been dismantled and replaced with no hope of recovery.
Valve still has a couple of Survivor arcade cabinets in their office, so it won't be totally lost.
Oh wow there's a male Combine Assassin:

What do you guys think is the best single player half life 2 mod out there? I'm itching to get something new.
Fakefactory if you want a good laugh.

MINERVA: Metastasis
Research and Development
Both are excellent.

the japanese rarely can tell the difference between a male and a female character anyway so for them it's probably all the same
these lack the spiky/silky smooth hair tho so the difference might be a bit more obvious i dunno

Stanley Parable.
May be worth it to wait for the re-release/HD release/Remix though.

You've already seen some of it though, the Synths are what they used before they invaded earth.

Isn't Minerva considered canon because Adam Foster (the creator) became a Valve employee?
Isn't Minerva considered canon because Adam Foster (the creator) became a Valve employee?
That's like saying the Depot is canon because the entire team that worked on it were Valve employees.
CS:S has to be canon, too.
Wait, Turtle Rock Studios are technically Valve, right?

If so, then L4D happened in the HL2 world.
I was kidding :u
it doesnt matter at all if minerva is canon, because it doesnt change anything.
Yes, but I find people can be very picky about canon even if it doesn't change anything. Look at Race-X for example.
Anyone at CES this week? Might see if you can meander into the ground floor of the south hall before the show starts on Tuesday... If you see anything interesting, you could take some pictures and post them here, you know for science...

Is Quiver still being developed?

Maybe they'll give away hats.

Turtle Rock was the main developer for CS:CZ and L4D of course, but valve only purchased the games during development. This doesn't mean L4D takes place in the HL2 World.

He just used a few bad examples.
