How many people does Valve employ?
'Bout 260-280, of which 40-50 are the Steam Team.
Whole bunch of Half-Life articles.
Dota 2 might be "basically released", but there's still a lot of stuff that still needs to be done: 14 heroes, (including programming, models, textures, particle effects, skill icons, voice, ability sounds, and key art), a few remaining gamemodes, a tutorial (including a few new maps, probably with new models and voice), quests, a guide system, team matchmaking, and a SDK for custom maps.
My bad, I didn't realize how much is left I also don't follow the game at all. Regardless there is still a lot of talent a Valve and we have no idea what they're working on...
But Gabe himself has already stated that they are.
Working on it could be a few guys getting around to drawing some concept art. Gabe saying that they werent working on it would of caused a massive backlash at valve
Thinking of replaying HL1 again, but I've already done it so many times already it'd probably bore me.
Any good mods I could get to add something fresh to the experience?
He did something that helped him the get the golden wrench in time IIRC
He worked out the accurate droprate and pattern so he could go on servers and get the wrench in time and also duplicate it and other stuff.
Valve banned him for it, then later hired him to fix the same loopholes he exploited and to find more.

I suggest HL-Boom. It is the greatest mod ever and it has inspired other great works such as Afraid of Monsters and Cry of Fear.
Or if you like senselessly killing scientists in a variety of interesting and often funny ways then Scientist Slaughterhouse is the mod you're looking for.
Residual Life, Residual Point, Point of View, USS Darkstar, Absolute Redemption, Heart of Evil (not that shitty Napalm Edition), PARANOIA, and They Hunger are all pretty good too.
[editline]oopsie[/editline]
I have failed at properly comprehending your post and I apologize, but anyway the Dreamcast version of Half-Life was ported to the PC as a mod a while back with some slight mapping changes and updated models if that's what you have in mind.

I think he wants to play half life 1 but with a fresh feeling.

actually it's someone from Valve who told him when the wrenches would drop
Gabe himself said he hated the PS3
...in 2007.
Gabe himself also said "I'd like to thank Sony for their gracious hospitality, and for not repeatedly punching me in the face," during the release announcement for Portal 2 with Steamworks on PS3, in 2010.
My point is that Gabe himself has said many things.
He also said hl2 would come out in 2003 >:(

Gabe "says many things" Newell strikes again!!
DAMN YOU GABE
I love you Gabe. <3
If Valve hates keeping their fans uninformed, why don't they give us details? Half-Life 2 articles were all over magazines in like 2002, I'm sure 6 years in the dark is enough suffering for us
Half-Life 2 was as quiet as Half-Life 3 in 2002. It all started when an image of crowbar was published in magazines sometimes in 2003, and then Valve demonstrated the game on E3.

Maybe Half Life 3 will come out this year....the span between Half Life(1998) and Half Life 2(2004) was 6 years.
Episode 1 and 2 came out in 2007 on the Orange Box. It's 2013 now, so it's going to be 6 years this year since Episode 2 came out.
Maybe...[SUB]just maybe...[/SUB]
It all started when an image of crowbar was published in magazines sometimes in 2003, and then Valve demonstrated the game on E3.
Ha! You don't know your Half-Life! Everyone knows that Half-Life 2 was initially revealed to the world in an exclusive Planet Half-Life First Look article back in 1999!:

As you can see, the game changed quite a bit after Valve took over the project. I don't know what became of Phat Rips Entertainment, but I hope they return some day so that we may finally learn the true legacy of Deerman.

Does crack-life mod the ENTIRE game? SSHHD was only partially finished :(
I'd be very surprised if they released any more games on consoles, let's face it Steam has put Valve in a very prominent position where they can leverage their software onto any system they want; and what they want most is for you to buy games through their system and not through Microsoft's or Sony's system. So why would they release their software on their competitors markets; plus it takes a lot of effort to port AAA games to a different environment. Also Valve software being on an environment that they don't control has been an absolute disaster, look at the PS3 and Xbox how many updates / special events have they had over the years compared to a free and open PC environment; and even the PC environment is becoming restricted (thanks Windows 8) which is why I think they are switching to Linux. Also if you're going to release a gaming system you don't want to have tack on another $100 just for a Windows license.
You've said it yourself, it's all about the money. Why WOULDN'T you develop a port for the consoles when there's millions of potential customers?

Yes it does. From start to Nihilanth

sven co-op never fails to impress
Booted up Ravenholm half an hour ago for a replay and found this.

It basically managed to get stuck on the pipe somehow and couldn't move away.
A+

The birds are fucking retarded except those following a predefined path in the air.
I've seen a lot of them stuck on the floor, but never on pipes or walls.
I remember all those years ago when young me and my dad went to pick up our half life 2 pre-order (one day AFTER the day of release) and i was confused as to why the game was so much different from the e3 videos and images. I sadly thought that they downgraded us because we didn't get the game the day of release.
Ah, child logic was fun.

yet im fairly certain the orangebox update is again the responsible
never saw this happen in vanilla hl2

I saw it happen in Ravenholm and on the coast a few times.
the same way most people claim they havent experienced even a single glitch with the orange box hl2 i bet - such as lack of stretched skybox textures or lighting not being disabled when you turn off hdr in any part of the game that arent the nova prospekt and coastline chapters
Those never happened to me.
