I'm not sure if im late or not but I found this mod and its suppose to re create the whole HL2 beta/leak. Called Raising The Bar. seems like that they just started working on it.

I'm skeptical, mods like this usually end up being abandoned.
I know, but im just hoping this mod will work out, ive always thought that the beta storyline was more interesting than the current one.
I stumbled across this bizarre interpretation of what Half Life might be if they'd kept Gordon as 'Ivan the space biker'.

That reminds me of when my friends and I played it.
the same way most people claim they havent experienced even a single glitch with the orange box hl2 i bet - such as lack of stretched skybox textures or lighting not being disabled when you turn off hdr in any part of the game that arent the nova prospekt and coastline chapters
I had buggy as fuck lighting in all the coastline maps until I actually turned on hdr. I only recently found out about turning it on after I'd reached Nova Prospekt in my last playthrough about a week ago. Never had stretched skyboxes though.
Standard HL2 was just as buggy. I routinely had rebels that wouldn't pick up or upgrade weapons. I got glitched in about a million places. Killed by dog's rollermine. Antlions that wouldn't respond to having bugbait and so on.

Think about it this way:
Someone modeled and textured everything you saw in that video.
Is anyone else half-hoping that when Valve does release Episode 3, it releases with Episodes 1 and 2 merged into it, so everything comes together as just Half-Life 3? Gabe said a while back he wished they named them Half-Life 3: Episode 1/2/3, and it'd kill all the confusion that would be brought on by having the 2 episodes, followed by Half-Life 3, when they've been saying the episodes are a trilogy all this time.

It would be kind of annoying to lose your weapons, re-learn the basics, and reset the difficulty curve every few hours.

Sure but it still doesn't beat the R. Lee Ermey Snarks from crack life.

It'd be praised as having unique pacing and become gotyay

"I think you dropped this back in City 17, clunk......."
Does anyone still have a download link to the fan made patch that fixes all those problems back from that mac update?

Sadly it turned into a xXxL3ns-Fl4r3-5up3r-M0710n-B1urxXx Ultimate mod.
Would you still have the link for it anyway?
I expect episode 3 to have some new physics toys.
Perhaps fuel drums that we can slosh flammable fuel around the floor with, or icicles we can shoot off the ceiling and grab and fire as projectiles that shatter and send shards embedding everywhere.
That could actually make a pretty cool driving part if you had to drive a snowmobile and weave falling icicles.
Im looking forward to seeing what valve did with the advisor battle
I hope for cool snowbines with coats

Supposing this leaked half life 3 concept art is genuine, looks like they might be going for combines simply biomechanically modified to cope with the cold climate.

Bleh, I was hoping for coats over their armor like this.

That is if they haven't/won't change the overall concept of what Arctic combine would look like in the years between 2008 and whenever HL3/EP3 is released
Tons of concept art is churned out before they settle on the final design, so there's a really good chance they didn't go with that one.
I don't care what design they use, as long as it looks awesome
And if they have coats, they better be jiggleboned to hell
I wanna see them bounce and flap about when they run

I don't like this concept very much. To me it doesn't fit well with the half life universe/art style. It looks more tailored for Dishonored.
I was thinking that the combine would simply provide bulkier versions of current overwatch uniforms
and maybe striders get more legs (to distribute weight more) and Pop put of the ground. Or the combine have an aquatic version of the strider.

Didn't dota 2 implement cloth physics?
Didn't dota 2 implement cloth physics?
I think that was Portal 2.
I think that was Portal 2.
Why would Portal 2 need Cloth Simulation?
According to this page it was Dota 2: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Dota_2
The combine overwatch soldier uniforms are designed for all terrains/climates
It's probably just going to be a higher poly version of the old one but with snow camouflage.
