And hilarious at the same time. It looks like he's just charging at you by spazzing his limbs out everywhere
So Valve made a new Half-Life 2 Episode Pack today...
18573 - Half-Life 2: Episode Pack Retail

It's just got Episode One & Two in it, what could it mean?
Edit:
The banner for the sub and a link to it will show up below once it actually goes live:

So there is no doubt that there won't be no Episode Three, it will be Half Life 3.
So there is no doubt that there won't be no Episode Three, it will be Half Life 3.
That text was written in 2008, they still thought there would be an Episode 3.
umm i said one of the few reasons
Why would it even be a reason in the first place? You can disable the music in Source games with a couple of clicks and game music generally sounds better in-game anyway.
and i never gave any indications to how i felt about the mod,

[...] i avoid trying out that mod
Generally people avoid things because they don't like them.
i only said the soundtrack was bad

the bm:s soundtrack while good [...]
wat?
wat?
Just look at his name.
That text was written in 2008, they still thought there would be an Episode 3.
They haven't said there won't be an episode 3.
That text was written in 2008, they still thought there would be an Episode 3.
Nothing suggests there won't be an Episode 3. Calling it Half Life 3 makes no sense.
Speaking of Half-Life, I spent an hour or so playing Team Fortress Classic the other day. I did pretty well, sadly nearly everyone was a bot. And the servers without bots were full of grenade spam.
I'd love to play some HLDM if anyone else wants to.
are you some diehard black mesa fan or something
its almost like watching a ff cinematic mod fan going defensive over someone saying they wont try a 20 gb mod because of the awful but optional character models
I haven't voiced an opinion either way. I'm just pointing out that you're an idiot.

you didn't even bother replying to his arguments
you just flat out insulted him

A full on remake of HL1 on the source engine with good looking levels, models, good gameplay, completely redone animations (mostly) and voice acting, and at the least moderately okay music is NOT comparable to fake "i fap to that brazilian chick ALL DAY" factory.
Dont even attempt to compare them, its dumb.

That's a bit extreme. You have the right not to like Nielsen's music, but you have to admit it's of much higher quality than FF's character models.
Gaben should try to become the leader of a nation. Then we'll never have a World War III.

But then he started the World War II:Episode 1 instead.

So, nothing's changed? :v:
sry m8, argument already died last page and he decided to revive it again for no good reason other than to continue advertising a bad mod i was already dead set on not bothering with
is this the half-life thread or did i somehow stumble into the black mesa megathread and openly said "wow mod sucks" or was it the other way around??? im not sure because i was forcefully called out on the matter
[editline]12th December 2012[/editline]
and besides i was comparing the persistent fan with poor judgement skills, not the mods themselves
If the arguement ended then just dont post a response, thats no call to insult him and as he said, hes not a persistent fan (that we know). He hasnt said anything about he he feels about the mod.
lexic didn't need to bring up butthurter's post in the first place, this is the hl thread not the bms thread
can we get back on topic
So Episode Two was just updated...
Edit:
Please note it was just updated on the CDR, you may or may not be receiving a update soon...
Never before has someone's username fit their posts more.
"This mod has different music, it is a shit mod"
No one has the right to criticize a piece of work unless they themselves understand the music genre as a whole, and can understand how it's constructed.
You also don't have the right to criticize a piece of work unless you've also had to deal with the hard work and patience and time and pressure of writing music, especially for a game by which you have a set time frame for which the music needs to be complete.

Well "When it's done" isn't a time frame.
But yeah, don't let music define a mod.

Does this also mean that we have no right to criticize games if we haven't tried making a game, or that we can't criticize movies if we haven't tried making a movie?
Personally, as a musical critic, I feel like Nielsen has some solid pieces however whether or not they fit with the game is a different story.
I think he succeeded by writing cool pieces, but failed in implementation. As in the music did not fit with the game's tone and at times inside the game itself.
Of course, it's my opinion, but since I study music I have the right to fairly criticize it.

You do have the right. What I'm trying to get at is in order to fairly criticize other people's work, you have to have some sort of knowledge in that field to fairly judge it.
In Butthurter's case, he's blindly criticizing the music and the game. He obviously has no knowledge of either the game or the music. However to give professional critical analysis and observations, you do need to actually study, in this case, music, or whichever topic you're concerned with.

I just think it's interesting we haven't received a update yet, usually they come out right after the CDR is updated...

I kind of get what you mean there. A lot of the time it felt very hit-or-miss. The lobby fight had incredibly cool and fitting music, while the music at the end of Blast Pit was placed extremely poorly.
But most of the time, it felt like the music was just way too damn loud.
