It seems like Valve is trying to compete with Garry's Mod.
Are you sure the Voritgaunt charging is broken Hell-met? I know he won't charge if your suit energy is over certain amount.

It's not even the fact that the HD pack is force that bothers me (Which, it still does), but the fact that custom models for vanilla Half-Life no longer work. Of-course as seen above, it also breaks other mods various models.

You can't.
That's the problem.
You have to use HDR or download the old maps somewhere. I think SPUF had a thread for it once upon a time.

It's harder to notice on a screenshot, but ingame it really reeks of downs
Half-Life is not "realistic."
It's art style simply apes realism for the sake of contrast with the "crazy shit." Case in point, the florescent green radioactive waste, despite radioactive waste looking nothing like that. If the audience is convinced, it works.

Are we still talking about the eyes? If yes, it's the G-Man's eyes that aren't focusing on the same point.

Nobody's saying otherwise, that a 1998 game is realistic and better than every other game ever.
Half Life 2, though, is pretty realistic. It had better physics (not pre-rendered or in cutscenes) than some games, 9 years later, do now, it had amazing animations and facial capture, and I didn't notice anything overtly unrealistic except for literally the aliens walking around. The greenish toxic sludge you can see in the Canals isn't that outlandish, and that's the only thing that could be considered weird.

Okay, so I'm starting to get into the Citadel in HL2, and I have two things to say:
1. Fuck Striders.
2. Holy shit I'm so fucking afraid of height please stop
Man I hated those striders the first time I played. Hell, I still hate that part of the game, but it works well as a turning point I guess.
The one strider down the long hallway in the Citadel was a bitch.
So many missed energy ball shots... The moment you went out of cover it pulsed your ass up, especially on hard
