It was much easier for them because they had the source to everything, us doing requires decompiling things and they creates plenty glitches.

Freeman is still the same age as he was in Half-Life 1.
He was in stasis, therefore didn't age.

Imagine it though. You're in your late twenties and your one of your friends has a little girl that's about knee height to you.
Some guy sends you too sleep. When you wake up you find out that your friend is nearly fifty and his little daughter wants to mount you.
Wouldn't hesitate.
Though it is kinda creepy how much Eli seems to want this to happen.
Also I feel like Eli is way above "nearly fifty" in HL2.

Yeah, Eli was probably at least 30 in half life 1, probably closer to 40. He seems to have quite a bit of seniority over Gordon, in terms of age and job position. Even so, the casual way that he and the other scientists talk to Gordon does imply they had some kind of a working relationship, possibly friendship. Which in turn would make the half-life 2 situation a bit awkward. Though maybe he just wants his daughter to hook up with a trustworthy guy, and he knows he can trust Gordon.

Speaking of Alyx, it's kinda creepy how she can take such an ungodly amount of punishment before dying, without there being an in-universe explanation.

the citizens were somewhat tolerable in hl2, except in the tiny apartments. I usually just command them to run into a barnacle or hopper or mounted gun. The alyx parts were so short that it felt perfect.

Anyone in the steam client beta get completely messed up textures in Opposing Force? It only happens to people in the steam beta. Steam overlay also gets completely wrecked as seen here:

It looks like stuff from steam overlay and the game itself are swapping textures like the bodies have text from chatlogs in steam or the time stamps.
Don't know if this also happens in Half-Life 1, but it's happening to me in OF.
It's not a failing card either because my friends are also getting this who are in steam beta.
Those 2 last shots are from my friend.
