The thing that really pissed me off in all the half life 2 games is the fact that no one ever mentions his hev suit, Like, ever. I mean, even the guy in the sewers says to you 'be glad you aren't the one they are looking for' even though you are the most suited up guy in the city more or less.
In the leak that guy just goes "It's you! The one they're hunting for! Get the hell outta here, you get us all killed!", then 2 manhacks burst in and chase him down the tunnel

But the leak isn't really canon, now is it.
Where did I mention canon?
It's more electric-industrial. I like it!
The only thing in HL1 that strikes me as pure 90's that you couldn't really do nowadays is the green electricity bolts that shoot out when something teleports. Anything green and luminous looks a bit tacky nowadays; bright green radioactivity, green lightning, green LEDs in computer cases (or at least that yellow-green that you see a lot).
It looks fine in Black Mesa
Where did I mention canon?
You didn't.
You mentioned the leak as having a scene where someone acknowledges Gordon's HEV suit.
The leak isn't canon, so that's not evidence of someone acknowledging Gordon's HEV suit.
You waited seven years to make a post?
Bravo.
Never felt like posting, until today. Probably because english is not my first language, that used to be a really obstacle for me to participate in this comunity. I can understand what I read, but I have some severe grammar problems, so my writing suck ass!
What motivated me was that people started to post Half-Life OST here, I was waiting to see if someone would post that song LG Orbifold. Since no one posted it, that motivated me to do so.
Awesome track, isn't it? It is played in the Anticitizen One chapter, right before you've got to fight those 3 striders in some wrecked buildings. This song fits the scene just perfectly
Half Life music is my favorite music in any video game.
I get massive tingling in my spine whenever I hear this
Every time I play this bit I overclock and charge through the level dual-barrel shotgunning zombies
Most satisfying gaming experience (bar some bits of Dead Space)

Your grammar is strange, but easily read.
I'm from an english speaking nation and study the language too. I still have no clue as to what the fuck i'm doing with grammar.

I'm sick of finding this shit.
Pff!! there's a reason why gordon wears his hazard suit around alyx.
that bitch carries things that are absolutely nasty
because it's more so ambient sound effects than a song. Like the man hack background sounds and sounds from the anti-mass spectrometer.
There is also more "clean" version that song.
Unfortunately i wasn't able to find it from youtube.

Grammer is just something you get used to imo. Also that's one of my favourite parts in the game, it's tough but amazing.

that is a great start for you :)
continue on the same way!
I've been playing the leak more today, it's got some interesting concepts in it that I don't understand why they were ditched. Many of the fights are pretty dull because of the lack of music and general unfinishedness of it, but one fight really surprised me by being even better than it's retail counterpart.
It's the one in C17 where the CP's are hiding behind a gated wall and you go through a building to get around it. In retail they just stand there and shoot at you when you kill them and rebels just stand wherever and shoot back. In the leak, this fight looks far more intelligent somehow; the CP's stand on the fence and fire as usual, but they sort of duck behind the wall, and come up to shoot, and duck down. Likewise, the Rebels do the same, cowering behind wrecked cars.
Why did they remove that? It was cool and made the AI look really good.
im pretty sure they still do that
I think I've found even more evidence that Valve is making a next gen engine and keeping the Source name too: Valve's Github page for Linux bug reporting refers to all games from HL2 to CSGO as "Source-1-Games."
Tried out PS07 again. The creepy kleiner error is fixed now :((
Goodbye creepy kleiner, you'll always live on in my heart

POV seems fine, but the UI's a bit screwy if you open overlay and what not. After you load a map the menu's seem to get a little garbled up.
Any links to this supposed press release from Valve that said 'fix it yourselves'?
nobody said that

It's because source AI is dumb and requires the mapper to give it absolutely massive hints on what to do, that combined with triggers forcing NPC's to move up and stuff as the player moves up make the NPC's look "Smart".
Valve mappers are pretty lazy when it comes to maximising their AI use.
nobody said that

It's not Valve's fault that your mods are broken; they have been very vocal about the upcoming changes making sure everyone was aware about what was happening. It's up to the mod developers to maintain and upkeep their projects.
are you seriously saying that valve should make sure every mod made for half life works with the new update
it isn't, the mod's authors that should do that

They should sort out a fix or some sort of compatibility mode that ensures old mods continue to function.
When the majority of your community in your early years was based around an abundance of mods for one of your games, it's a pretty silly move to invalidate every single one of those mods

This song gives me shivers down my spine...
So creepy and emotional due to where it's used in the game...

Problem is that a lot of HL1 mods made years ago isn't going to be watched over by its author years after release when it's finished.
It seems the texture corruption with the overlay has been fixed.
Changes:
- Fixed texture corruption when using the Game Overlay in OpenGL games
- Fixed failing to do HTTP downloads from hosts that started with a numeral
- Linux - Added X window manager name to system info dialog
Is that in the beta update only?
