Gluon gun powered by combine dark energy things.... Game over man! game over!

A Super Charged Gluon Gun would be the greatest thing ever.
Anyway, I finally started HL2: EP1, and I like the destroyed setting a lot. I think it's better than City 17 anyway.
I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here, but the subject still seems alive enough to talk about it.
First of all, Margarita was one of the test games done internally by VALVe alongside such classics as Two Robots, One Wrench and F-Stop. It was mostly AI stuff and testing like that, which is why there's a ton of npc's and ai_addons relating to weapons. It has it's own FGD actually, inside most leaks and SFM. My guess is that this is actually part of a valveleakware troll or VALVe merged the projects internally because Blob stands for Blobulator, which was also tech shown off at this fest. Maybe it will be used in the next Half-Life game.
As for SOB, I'm not sure if we've had this before or not, but I've definitely seen it before somewhere. Func_nebula and info_nebula were probably there to form the world around it, where the func_nebula and info_nebula would be linked (albeit I don't know how) and the cloud would be formed inside the func_nebula brush with particles. sob_npc_ship should be pretty obvious, and hey, maybe you were supposed to command a team with it. I am curious about that sob_prop_attachment thing because that would be so helpful to many moders who don't want to add on a prop attachment through code.
Also, it should be noted that SOB includes ep3.fgd, so I'm guessing this ep3.fgd may be a shared file for new tech in Source.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the gluon gun was used on the buggy and has been in every Source game still (as an actor entity but not a proper first person weapon)

Isn't the one on the buggy the tau cannon?
[editline]20th February 2013[/editline]
Also I am still wondering how they were planning on running SOB inside Source, though I bet they were just doing engine modification either for much larger map sizes, map streaming or something.

That's the tau cannon not the gluon gun

That would go with the idea that EP3/HL3 would have a new engine.

I really dont know what SOB is besides some space game, but if it didnt have players walking around and no need of brushwork they could just make the models extremely small.
Ha! How have I not heard of Two Robots, One Wrench before?

what the fuck?
Half-life just updated about 3 hours ago. Are the music tracks acting weird for anyone else? If you go to a new level before one ends it just restarts the track. Was wondering why the menu music kept looping oddly when I started playing at c1a0.
