The text is terrible though, because I'm crap at stuff like that.
RustySpannerz;39716594'] a full seventeen hours of gameplay.
That seems to be the perfect length... although normally HL games take me roughly 9-10 hours.
Portal 2 probably never had blood.
Portal 2 had blood. I can prove it. For one there's textures for blood. Two, this video: When they get shot you can see a flash of blood. Also the lasers looked so much better back then.
For one there's textures for blood.
It could just be left over like the first Portal's blood was.
So why Valve decided to make Portal 2 a kids game instead of mature?
For bigger sales + audience reception? Same reason Chell now has a push up bra and Aperture Science brand makeup on.
So why Valve decided to make Portal 2 a kids game instead of mature?
They simple thought the blood was 'unecessary'. Also, I wouldn't really call games without blood for kids games.
It was never mature, it just wasn't for kids.
I still remember that news show clip where parents of an adopted child complained that Portal 2 made fun of adopted people and hurt their child. Meanwhile their child was just playing portal 2 in the background not even caring one bit.
I wouldn't really call games without blood for kids games.
Portal 2 was marketed as a children's game for babies as evidenced by the game being touted as a "proud sponsor of Disney Channel":
Wasn't the blood in the first portal accidental? [editline]25th February 2013[/editline] Yes, yes it was. http://www.gamingangels.com/2011/03/pax-east-2011-portal-2-solo-and-an-interview-with-erik-wolpaw/
Couldn't they have just replaced the blood decals with a blank transparent?
I believe they also got the console publisher wrong (they said Sony, in reality it is EA), and they said the game was billed as educational.
I hope next Half life game won't try to target kids:suicide:

The funny thing is they actually cut off the line where GLaDOS says "And now? What's wrong with being adopted?" that comes DIRECTLY afterwards.
I hope next Half life game won't try to target kids:suicide:
Didn't Gabe say that they want to make the next Half Life game much scarier? Something about letting the powers of players fade?

Since seemingly so far the HEV suit is so invincible (at least in the sense of easily being repaired after everything), it would be refreshing to see it either break completely or just lose some functionality.

Imagine having to walk through a Ravenholm-like environment without a flashlight or the suit's protection; maybe even without the gravity gun and some of the weapons. It would be an ideal situation to introduce a new and fun weapon.
If the gravity gun has infinite energy, why not the suit?

I just finished Half-Life on Hard again. I HATE ALIEN CONTROLLERS. Little flying squeaking buggers that are impossible to hit. I hate them so much.

Revolver can take Alien Controllers down in 2-3 shots, thornets can chip away damage if the first short or two doesn't kill them outright, with the bonus of never running out of ammo.
i circlestrafe them with mp5 grenades. i go pretty hard, i know.
I pretty much use the MP5 as just a grenade launcher in Xen. The normal ammo is less common then on the surface, and the Gonarch fight usually absorbs most of it quickly.

I'd love if they completely gimped your movement and combat abilities too, with your suit disabled/broken. Obviously it would only happen at small segments of the game (maybe one of the attacks an advisor can do?)

I don't know, but after 4 games of running around and ruining shit with the HEV suit, I'd love to see a moment where you see how helpless Gordon is without it.
