Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series - My every day life

Man, so you can actually get yourself into an unwinnable situation in P4? I know in P3 it lets you grind as much as you want in the last day before a boss, if memory serves correctly.

I like it how the game is like "You can now choose what to do inside your room at night." and then when you try to do something it basically says "You're tired, go to sleep."
I've never actually failed to do it, but I think that it sets you back a week?

Yeah, I actually forgot all about that mechanic. If you fail to save somebody in the TV Igor's just like "Yo you fucked uuupppp go back and try again" and you go back a week or two.
If you mess up one of the good end/bad end choices I'm pretty sure it sends you back to a day or two before the first choice where the entire group is deciding what to do with you-know-who.
So yeah myalt, you're fine.

Oh thank god, I though I was going to have to replay 7 hours. Thanks for the heads up!

Nope. When I played through Persona 4 on PS2, I got the bad ending and even after watching through the credits, all you get is an option to create a save for New Game +.
However, if you do make the wrong choice, you can still reload your save file from the day before you make that choice, but if you happen to erase it with the New Game + save, you're fucked. The game doesn't explicitly say you got the "bad" ending either, so only players who are willing to explore further find the better endings, which is quite appropriate considering the theme of the game.

I suppose the game really wants you to know just how important truth is.
I really liked that the endings weren't a stupid pick ending a b c.
Instead you actually had to kinda think about it.
[sp]the logic they use to actually accuse adachi makes no sense and is kinda dumb,[/sp] i hope they fix it in p4g
Please spoiler tag ending stuff please please <3
Id personally spoiler that, but some stuff kinda clicked when you think about it. Even after the first death there is a small hint that when you think back it made sense. The later deduction does have some sense considering. [sp]In the beginning, he threw up after seeing the dead body because of his realization I guess. He does make it stupid obvious that he is feeding them information purposely. Also, the whole him responding to Naoto reading the address book talking about everyone's address listed. Its true when you think about it, the police themselves had no clue that any of the investigation team went missing. However, somehow he knew they went missing and wanted to jump on framing someone quick.[/sp]Adding to that, I don't think they changed anything in that regard in P4G.
oh woops
sorry

Fixed
[QUOTE=Hamsterjuice;38162504]oh woops

No worries dude.
Also Shadow Yukiko is killing my frames from the one camera angle rofl
I liked how they added to that in P4G. (Obviously P4G and P4 Spoilers) [sp]With this new social link, they pretty much play with the idea that he is acting dumb. Since his Social Link is first called The Pierrot and it changes after Adachi takes off into the tv into The Lust. Felt like it really added to the playthrough.[/sp]

[sp]Well, it was a bit suspicious whenever Adachi mentioned one of the missing people being found or a potential suspect, he would keep telling the main characters to 'leave it to the police', and after the warning letter used language that would have made no sense for Namatame to use, the only other trait they had to go on was that it had to be someone connected somehow to the first two victims. Adachi just fumbled the ball at the end with the whole 'put them in' thing because he got nervous, and prior to that Naoto only had the feeling that it *might* be Adachi, not that it had to be him. He ruined himself, basically.[/sp]

[sp]And after all that he says about supposedly being some great detective shoved out to the countryside, the best he could do was convince an already scared man to do something crazy.[/sp]
Do not read if you haven't played/completed the PS2 version.
[sp]Fuck, I spoiled the fact that Adachi was the killer when I played the PS2 version, and I have spoiled the fact that...[/sp]
DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED GOLDEN
[sp]...they added a Social Link for him in Golden. A secret Atlus has been very good about keeping under wraps.[/sp]
Man, I'm dumb. I can't resist clicking spoilers sometimes. I still enjoyed the game immensly, but it took away some of the thrill and surprise knowing who the culprit was.

The Golden spoiler isn't a big deal in my opinion. It fixes the reason I knew [sp]Adachi was the killer. Pretty much the only major character you don't have a S.Link with.[/sp]
Plus /smt/ was posting screenshots and translations of it so it's kinda common knowledge.
The original idea was that [sp]Dojima[/sp] was the killer but people found that way to unsettling so they just threw the role to the first thing that came to mind and thats why the end game feels very rushed.

Oh man is there a source for this? It never felt rushed to me but that sounds interesting and could of added a much needed serious tone to the end game.
Just rescued Yukiko, and the foggy day doesn't seem to be anywhere near, so I'm guessing I'm gonna be waiting around for the plot to advance?

Generally the idea is to get the dungeons over asap so you can work on social stuff and other stuff like the 'quests'. You can also go back in and do some grinding on the off days if you really wanted. But yeah, you are pretty much waiting for the plot to advance on a set day.

I don't mind it so much, since if I can work on the social links, it'll mean better Personae faster, which is always good.
as fucking awful as it is to say, i think [sp]nanako dying[/sp] would of added some much seriously needed heaviness to the game
or maybe i'm stupid and preferred the melodrama of p3

that was the only part i legit cried in p4 [sp]until she came back alive i mean wtf[/sp]
I have to agree, and I just get this feeling from Persona games that shocking twists would go perfectly with them.
Happy endings are nice, I just tend to prefer bittersweet or downer ones.
[Sp]Bringing Nanako back always felt off. I really think they intended to kill her, but just couldn't go through with it. Not that I wanted her to die, but the fact that they said she was dead and then bring her back moments just seemed like a cop out. I felt it could have been handled better.[/Sp]

I know that feel. Down here in Aus, we've got no idea when it's getting here, only that it is because it's been given a rating.
Speaking of ratings, I find it funny that Persona 4 is M in America so only people older than 17 are supposed to play it, but it's M here (Our M is like your T, and our equivalent of your M is MA) so any kid could walk into a games shop, buy it and start solving murders.
