I hope Persona 5 sticks with a silent protagonist. I always feel more immersed in a game with a silent hero then a voiced one because it leaves more room open for interpretation for your character. I wrote about this more in depth once, but when the character I'm controlling in-game acts like a dick or completely contrary to the way I'm playing the game, it breaks the illusion of what I'm playing.
So many this's. I prefer good non-silent protagonists in most games, but when the guy you are supposed to be does something incredibly dumb and you have no say in it, I always want to break my controllers. Even though I usually, almost always prefer a voiced protagonist, I think the Persona games are a lot better with a silent one. The social links actually feel great when you unconsciously form protag's answers. If he were to answer for you, it'd feel like watching a bad romantic movie, I think.
My absolute favourite thing about persona 4 is that [sp]The game basically spends the entire duration going "HERE'S YOUR NEXT TARGET! YOU KEEPING UP? OKAY HERE'S THE NEXT ONE!" and you don't have to figure anything out for yourself really unless you are actually interested in the story. Then those that paid attention will realise something's wrong during the whole nametame thing. It's going to be interesting when my friends get there, i'll be interested to see if they piece it together.[/sp]
[sp]I first questioned why the game would suddenly throw a number of complex and vague prompts at me regarding a guy with a sketchy alibi. I mean purely by game logic it can't have been for nothing, right? That's what I was thinking anyway, but picking Adachi without any prior knowledge takes some thinking. The way Naoto figured it out was certainly roundabout, but Adachi seemed suspicious after how anxious he was to arrest that paparazzi guy early on.[/sp]

You actually had to think about it and not just press yes or no (which was one thing I did dislike about P3's ending choice)[/sp]
Not to mention the game is constantly telling you to REACH OUT TO THE TRUTH!!
You do have to exert some mental stuff to put that 2 and 2 together, though. Presuming you weren't already doing that, of course.
[sp]I wonder if I would have been able to figure out it was Adachi if I didn't already know.[/sp]
You have to max her SL to get her dungeon.
I just beat Ameno-sagiri. Is her dungeon a natural part of the story (assuming you maxed her SL) or is there something I have to do to access it?
I just beat Ameno-sagiri. Is her dungeon a natural part of the story (assuming you maxed her SL) or is there something I have to do to access it?
I think it's around Valentine's day you enter the dungeon
I picked up Digital Devil Saga the other day, along with some other games. All I could remember from playing it as a kid was ZEBRAMAN, and lo, it was the easiest boss in an SMT game I have ever fought. Still a fun game though.

Unless you decide to do the optional Demifiend boss fight which is considered to be one of the hardest RPG boss fights ever.

And just before valentines day, Margaret will take you to the dungeon.[/sp]

Just ordered Persona 4 Arena off of Amazon. Is it any good?
It's weird playing a Persona-themed fighting game, and they made a couple of questionable VA choices (Adachi's voice actor voicing Yu as mentioned before, and I really can't stand Chie's new voice. Teddie's is pretty close though) but it's a solid game.

P4Arena is decent as far as i know (it's not out in pal!), it's kinda like blazblue combined with jojo's bizarre adventure gameplay wise
Started playing Persona 2 - Eternal Punishment:
Started playing Persona 2 - Eternal Punishment:
Whoa, Eternal Punishment got translated? I thought they only localised Innocent Sin.
Whoa, Eternal Punishment got translated? I thought they only localised Innocent Sin.
They localized EP for the PS1, but not IS. Then for the PSP, they localized the remake of IS, but not the remake of EP.
They localized EP for the PS1, but not IS. Then for the PSP, they localized the remake of IS, but not the remake of EP.
Ah right. And looks like EP on the PS1 never made it over here, so IS on the PSP is the only form of P2 we've ever had in the land down under.

Someone managed to break the game by getting stuck with the fox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbz6hPfHskw
Just ordered Persona 4 Arena off of Amazon. Is it any good?
Some people say it's a bit "casual", but unless you get SUPER into Arcsys games, it'll just come across as accessible. I like personally enjoy it and have not really stopped playing it since launch.

Like I don't play 3rd Strike to stress out about how accurately I can parry, I play for fun, and in the case of P4A perhaps story.
So how long do I have to save Marie?

Unfortunately, the online on Xbox is pretty much completely dead and the PS3 online only has a small consistent community, so if you want to play with real people you'll have to have friends over or go to locals

I'm sure others enjoyed it, but I didn't.

I know it doesn't have FRC and faultless defenses and shit, but I don't see that as either a positive or negative, since they have no real effect on footsies (as much as that means in Arcsys games)
