Why exactly don't you like it? I know it doesn't have FRC and faultless defenses and shit, but I don't see that as either a positive or negative, since they have no real effect on footsies (as much as that means in Arcsys games)
Well, it was primarily that every character felt like a shittier version of Carl Clover from Blazblue, which is by far my least favorite character to play as in a fighting game ever.

I think the Personas for the rest of the characters feel more like moves that can be canceled during active frames or special moves mapped to a button. If you still have the game, you should try Akihiko. Almost all of his basic-intermediate combos just completely ignore the Persona, and even in his advanced combos his persona is rarely used outside of some supers.
Then you'll probably love P4U. Unfortunately, the online on Xbox is pretty much completely dead and the PS3 online only has a small consistent community, so if you want to play with real people you'll have to have friends over or go to locals
Looking forward to it then, since it's supposed to arrive later today. Anyone here have it on the 360?
Kicked shadow [sp]naoto[/sp]'s ass, despite taking Yukiko and pre-ultimate Chie along Power charge + gigantic fist with kin-ki helped, and Mind Charge + Megidola with Raphael did a bunch too.

A new, updated OP has just been added. Now includes information about the first 2 games, and some fancy banners!
This thread is for Megaten games in general right? because Soul Hackers is coming soon.
This thread is for Megaten games in general right? because Soul Hackers is coming soon.
Just the Persona series actually, since it's all in the same universe. Megaten games in general don't really have anything connecting them except for recurring demons and sometimes similar battle systems.
Before [sp]Rise[/sp] was kidnapped, Margret asked to see a Matador persona. I'm now at the final boss [sp]Izanami[/sp] and I still haven't found one.
You might wanna spoiler tag that.
You could just fuse one.
Every time I find personas via the dungeons I check to see if I can fuse it, but it's never avaliable.

The OP's already a bit longer now, so I'll just leave that alone as well. Just remember that when Persona 5 comes out, whenever that is, that'll take precedence.
Welp. Finished P4G, got the best ending. I put the game on normal difficulty because I'm bad at turn-based combat, but I found the game really easy. Can you choose a new difficulty when going into new game plus?
Every time I find personas via the dungeons I check to see if I can fuse it, but it's never avaliable.
All you need is Hiero. Anzu and Hanged Berith. If you're doing Margaret's requests, level Anzu up to level 19 for mahama. [editline]22nd December 2012[/editline]
Welp. Finished P4G, got the best ending. You can also customize the difficulty while in the options while in game.
Yes you can. You can also customize the difficulty while in the options while in game.
Damn. I'm sure the game said you couldn't change the difficulty once you'd chosen. Must have been another game.
Damn I saw a pretty good Rise cosplay when I was at a convention. Too bad I didn't bring a camera :(
Damn. I'm sure the game said you couldn't change the difficulty once you'd chosen. Must have been another game.
I think they just re-used the same difficulty menu as when you first play.
Just beat Golden after like 140 Hours...time to start up New Game Plus! Golden Spoilers/Ending Spoilers [sp]There's an extended ending in Golden that's pretty awesome. It caught be completely by surprise as I expected the game to end at the train station like the original. It was really awesome getting to return to Inaba and seeing how everyone changed.[/sp]
Eh, I'm thinking of starting Batsu soon, since I really doubt its gonna be localized any time soon (even with Soul Hackers getting localized). Hows the battle system for the old PS1 versions of the game? I heard its even worse than on the PSP.

If anything the graphical presentation of the PS1 is marginally worse, and that makes it seem worse, even though the battle systems are functionally identical.

I guess I'll just have to do without the Tatsuya sidestory for now.

You wont get the full experience of if you played it yourself, but it at least lets you know what is happening. Obviously spoilers: Episode 1: http://pastebin.com/ZwgvSg4m Episode 2: http://pastebin.com/Mcimw1pM Episode 3: http://pastebin.com/Da5uj7Mk

Thanks though, and I actually haven't been to any SMTG's for awhile now, probably to avoid the constant spoilers of DDS1 and 2.
Man, I typically hate JRPGs but 70 hours into P4G and I'm starting to wonder if I should try more (I've played through P3P, too.). Any JRPGs similar to P4, other than P3P? I'm gonna want more once I finish this.

You should def play Nocturne
