This game is pretty great.[/QUOTE]
Well it's not exactly the easiest to get into, thanks in part to the somewhat outdated battle system, and the ass-backwards ports of both games.
For example, there's no Innocent Sin localization on the PS1, but there's a PSP remake. There's Eternal Punishment on the PS1, but the PSP remake isn't localized.
Persona 1 did manage to be properly brought over, but the gameplay in that feels even more outdated, although it is in line with other SMT games at the time. First-person hallway dungeons just aren't the most exciting thing in the world.

I will agree with you there. I was kind of hesitant to play the PS1 version of Batsu, but with no localization in sight I just took a chance on it. But like you said, the battle system isn't as bad as people say. I still think is stupid as hell how they ported EP on the PS1 yet left out IS.
I never tried Persona 1, and to be quite frank it does kind of scare me.

Is it 16:9 enough for you yet:

Because mock-ups are fun to waste time on.

Both of the P2 games are well written and the combat is more complex than 3 and 4. 1 is just bad all around.

I thought the writing in P1 was fine, if anything only slightly worse than either of P2's games. I mean fundamentally, P1 and P2 have the same battle systems, which I found incredibly obtuse and unintuitive. As I understand it, a lot of players liked negotiation, and I thought the premise itself was fine, but having to do it for cards to fuse personas and having to get the eager trait up specifically (with unique variants for each demon) was an enormous pain in the ass.
I'm more annoyed by the fact that P4 very nearly forgot that P3 ever happened, whereas P1 characters made big appearances in P2. We'll be lucky if anyone from an earlier game even shows up in P5.
It is really a shame that the widescreen hack for P3 and P4 doesn't fix any of the portraits or hud itself.

I'm not crazy when I remember on of the SMT games ending with you fighting a giant cylinder in space am I?

Considering some of the shadows that exist in P3 and P4, I wouldn't call it entirely unlikely.
Though I haven't beat P3 and still want to get the true ending in P4 so...

Wait, when I first saw those, I thought the sprites etc were edited. There an actual fix for the sprites now?
Nevermind, found them. Happy someone finally did considering my attempts were unsuccessful in the past:

Not really, but I think they stretched the images somehow.

And still no release date for p4a for eu, on any media.
I'm stuck in the sauna on P4 because those big hand things keep catching me off guard and spamming attacks on everyone at once.
There seems to be P4A on the US PSN store now for $29.99. Wonder if it could be useful for Europeans to get it that way. That is if it isn't region locked like the physical copy...
I haven't been able to get into P3FES after spending so much time on P4.
Fuck yes, only one more week until Golden.
Been waiting so fucking long.

The higher up you start, the harder it is to play any earlier game.
P4Arena seems like a set up for P5, which i cant wait for, and i'm lovin' the shit out of arena

If the Shadow Operatives aren't returning P1/P2/P3 characters then Atlus has officially fumbled the ball at the 10 yard line.

By which I mean I agree.

Wanted some delicious EB World carrots or was there some store exclusive?
Personally I want a fresh story for Persona 5.
Though,it would be cool if there are Shadow Operatives in P5 but they work behind the scenes and you won't encounter/hardly encounter them in the story at all unless you notice certain things.

Don't really the need the carrots, my EB World card's already at Level 4. I just couldn't really be bothered importing it from some other country, plus I'm not sure if it'd even work because region-locking.

Persona 2 included characters from Persona 1 pretty heavily (moreso in Eternal Punishment), but was still a new story with new characters. It's not impossible, and if anything is more likely given the silhouettes of the SOs and the name-dropping in Persona 3.
I'd guess that the Shadow Operatives thing is going to be mostly contained in the P4U series, since it's almost guaranteed there's going to be a sequel.

Vita is region free. I imported Golden when it was released.

Well, damn. Wish I'd known that before I got my brother to get me a pre-order of it for Christmas.
i want p5 to be like p4
in the same universe as 3 and 4, but that's it apart from maybe a fan wank section like p4

Aren't all the Persona games in the same universe?
iunno, i haven't played them cus i heard p1 isn't very good and p2 is like $50. what the hell
I just finished Elizabeth's arena storyline. If she doesn't get a spin off of some sort or play some role in persona 5 i'm going to be a little miffed.
Despite [sp]receiving the wild card and starting an adventure[/sp] it'd be a bit hard to make her the standard persona protagonist considering she already has an interesting personality. Frankly she'd scare off any social links she attempted to forge by immediately dumping 2 Million yen into the nearest fountain.
