Aren't all the Persona games in the same universe?
It's something like P1, P2EP, P3 and P4 take place in the same line. Though, I'm not sure how time before P2EP works thanks to the events in IS.
Started playing Persona 4 a week or two ago after seeing a few of my friends obsess over it for a while. Its pretty fun considering I don't usually play JRPGs.

[editline]15th February 2013[/editline]
iunno, i haven't played them cus i heard p1 isn't very good and p2 is like $50. what the hell
Definitely a big mistake then, because P2 references quite a few P1 characters and events. That and, if Shadow Operatives are at all relevant in P5 (and by all accounts they should be), then you'll be seeing previous characters for a reason other than 'fanwank'.
i see that it was already posted still a very strange cross over game

Atlus makes some nice games and all but i find it kind of frustrating they release each remake on a different console that i don't have every time.

Don't have all of those you say? Tough shit. At the very best you can get Persona 1-4 on Vita by downloading 1-3's PSP releases, but that's about as close to complete as you can manage.
SMT games are on 360 and PS3? i thought the only re-release on these consoles were P3 for PS3.
Well I counted Persona 4 Arena, but even ignoring that it's sort of assumed at least one SMT game in the future will be on a current-gen console.
Wait, there's a P5 apparently in development now? That's what I get when I leave Facepunch for like two months. Also, after reading Leavemywife's LP of Earthbound I decided that someone needs to demake Persona 3/4 in PK Hack. I HAVE SPOKEN!
P2: Eternal Punishment just showed up on the ESRB website.
I really hope they do some sort of MEGA port to the Vita, with an updated 1 and 2, as well as a re-release of P3.
Hope its the PSP localization. I need me some Tatsuya side story.
It's not. They're bringing the PSX version over, and said that for one reason or another "couldn't" bring the PSP remake over.
i heard that p5 had been in some kind of development or production or w/e since 2010? is this true?
i heard that p5 had been in some kind of development or production or w/e since 2010? is this true?
Well it's arguable that it's been in 'some kind' of development since P4 came out, but it's hard to say.
Just finished P3P. OH GOD THE FEELS. [sp]also I gotta admit Nyx was much more exciting to fight than Ameno-Sagiri and Izanami[/sp]
Just finished P3P. OH GOD THE FEELS. [sp]also I gotta admit Nyx was much more exciting to fight than Ameno-Sagiri and Izanami[/sp]
Well the Battle for Everyone's Souls (for Nyx) was a bit better than Mist or The Genesis (for Izanami), soundtrack-wise, but other than that I thought they were both just as good.
I really liked The Genesis because it cycles through earlier songs slightly.
I really liked The Genesis because it cycles through earlier songs slightly.
But the actual effect of it is ruined because the song itself doesn't pace with the way the battle is going. If gradually changed as the battle progressed, it would have been so much better. Example (P4 spoilers obviously): [sp]having the reach out to the truth part while not being able to kill izanami / having her pulling your allies down isn't very fitting [/sp]
Speaking of which, has anyone confirmed if [sp]Ameno-Sagiri was Namatame's persona or his shadow or what? Never made sense to me.[/sp]
Crap whos that male voice actor.
Fuck all I can hear now is Dio from VLR
Speaking of which, has anyone confirmed if [sp]Ameno-Sagiri was Namatame's persona or his shadow or what? Never made sense to me.[/sp]
[sp]Ameno-sagiri possessed Adachi after Adachi was defeated. Ameno-Sagiri is a god who is product of many human minds that wanted the fog. Adachi's persona is Magatsu-Izanagi (Basically MC's persona but pissed off and bloody). Namatame was possessed by Kunino-Sagiri who is also a god and was also a product of many human minds.[/sp]
Shit that's explained in P4G only: [sp]Kunino-sagiri was Namatame's shadow to some extent but did not originate from him - Kunino is as much of a part of Izanami as Ameno, who are both facets of Izanami.[/sp]
[sp]Adachi's persona is Magatsu-Izanagi (Basically MC's persona but pissed off and bloody)[/sp]
[sp]And, according to the description in Golden, is the form of Izanagi after he returned from the underworld, covered in filth, hence the name. 'Magatsu' can be translated as 'filth-tarnished'.[/sp]
The backstories of SMT games are so fascinating.
Kinda curious about the next Persona game's story, if there is gonna be a Persona 5. I think it would be neat if it took place in another country, though I doubt it.
