I only bought P3P so I never played The Answer. :(
The PSN store has it for 10 bucks if I recall.
Luckily I have nobody on my friends list who can judge me for my purchase. Thanks.
I only bought P3P so I never played The Answer. :(
If /vg/ is to be believed, it's not great anyway.
I only bought P3P so I never played The Answer. :(
It's interesting but it wasn't nearly as engaging as the main story to me. I managed to get about 1/3rd through the game on a hard mode new game+ immediately after beating it. I only lost interest because it would cost me something like 5,400,000 yen to recreate my super powered Mithra persona. The thing had 99 in all but one stat and had spells of every element except fire including megidola. Between Mithra and Surt's super powerful fire spell I never needed anything else during the latter 1/3rd or so of the game.

Just thought I'd inform everyone. All Atlus games are on sale on PSN. Catherine is on sale for $20, and while not related to Persona, it is developed by the Persona development team. Persona 3 Portable is on sale for $10, which if you have a PSP or a Vita and still haven't got it, now is your fucking chance. I'm considering getting Persona 2 and Persona 1 portable, but I'm not sure if I want to gamble on the chance that I don't like them.
I'm thinking about picking up Catherine.
I'm thinking about picking up Catherine.
I'd be a little cautious recommending it to just anyone. I personally, loved the game, but be warned. The entire core gameplay revolves around solving puzzles (Always challenging, sometimes to the point of frustration). The rest of the game consists of talking to friends, answering questions posed to you (Some of them are very thoughtful and take time to answer, others...not so much), and texting Catherine and Katherine, all which influence your Karma, and thus your ending (8 different ones). I liked the story, but in it does falter a bit in the final act, and I liked all the characters. I found myself trying to solve the puzzle segments as fast as I could to get back to the bar to hear what all the different characters had to say and see how the story advanced. I'd say it's more then the sum of it's parts, but if you don't like the game play, you're not going to have a good time because it'll feel like torture having to go through it to get more of the story. And I do recommend playing the first time playing the first time trying not to get the best ending and chose what you would actually do.
The website has a clock on it... http://www.p3m.jp/ I WONDER WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE GET TO MIDNIGHT!!!!!
Atlus gets millions of dollars. I hope the movie has the same quality as the P4 anime. That was great.

All I know about this series is that somewhere in it there's a hot robot chick
All I know about this series is that somewhere in it there's a hot robot chick
That would be the Persona 3 party member Aigis. There's also a fox who sells you "strange leaves" for really high prices. Pretty great games.
There's also a fox who sells you "strange leaves" for really high prices..
If anyone played P4, then: Rank 9 -> X Hermit S.Link: Catch the Guardian. Fuck that shit.

Extremely slow combat that just felt like everything took forever and one of the worst games I've played for random battles. Seemed to have aged really poorly I guess.
Fucking Junpei, man
Low blow Yukari, low blow. [sp] Junpei was kinda lame though. [/sp]
Theres still time my child. Hurry!
Gah...exams are coming damned exams....... I should spend a week studying and listening to persona music. Now the thread title would be accurate!
Not really, i saw it coming.
It's not that, just that a load of stuff after that happened and just gave the game a really gloomy aura for me.
Just beat Catherine not too long ago, and a friend told me to try out Persona. I've got the Persona 3 FES version from the PSN, am I missing anything by jumping into 3?
