Reading this thread without owning the game is mostly gibberish, but it sounds like absolutely awesome gibberish.
god damn this game is fucking awesome also heartbreaking. on my first play, at the end of the third sector, I left the rebel advancement too long and got my shit thoroughly shredded by one of those elite fighters. thing is, I could have jumped away and survived, but my hubris got the better of me, and I kept fighting. eventually the fires spread to the oxygen tanks and so everyone started suffocating. I lost two crewmembers to fire and possibly other stuff, which is when I decided to jump. in the next sector, I sent my last human non-pilot crewmember to fix the oxygen system. there was barely any oxygen left in the place, and just as he fixed the system, he suffocated to death. the last three members of my crew were then left drifting in space, contemplating the sacrifice he had just made, with that music playing. damn, it was downright cinematic. I left that particular play through there, since I felt I had fucked up too much. next time I'll just jump :v: gameplay mechanics wise, does anyone else think it'd be better if lack of oxygen only temporarily disabled you (like, lack of O2 causing someone to collapse and then giving them a timer until death while the supply is not restored) instead of outright killing you if you stay there for too long?
I keep dying because if people boarding my ship.
I keep dying because if people boarding my ship.
I usually just get my crew to gang up on them if possible
You should be able to toggle a distress beacon when your all in medbay and the o2 is out having a slaver come over to sell you a slave/ engi's being nice and fixing it
I keep dying because if people boarding my ship.
get blast doors they're not even that expensive
I keep dying because if people boarding my ship.
Go fight them, run to medical bay to heal and repeat. If all else fails, send them to the vacuum of space ONLY IF YOU HAVE BLAST DOORS.

Only once have I been saved by a nice ship, out of five instances of having no fuel or so.
There should be an event where if you have a teleporter, you can send your crew over to save a ship in distress because of fire/damage/boarding. It might already be in the game but I haven't seen it yet in my playthroughs.

Ive never got that asshole asking for 50000 scrap for 1 fuel
400 scrap, no shop for 2 sectors. Killed by automated drone with 4 shield bars and I spent all my rockets.
This game really just needs more of everything. More alien races, more ship equipment, more random events... I've only played the game 7 hours and I feel like I've seen at least 90% of the random encounters. It'd also be nice if there was more variation in the ships, like if they had different types of engine rooms that work in different ways, or if some are able to upgrade certain systems further than others, possibly with new effects to be gained, rather than just increased stats.

If anyone in here is good at them maths and numbers, hit me up with a PM.
Everyone meets Tuco the pirate.
when i first saw tuco the pirate i thought of breaking bad :(
The fire beam is so fun. Time to power down the weapons and watch it burn.

Actualy. I found the flagship... Easy? Now iv only done it once and my ship was pretty boss... But it was Easy. The most difficulty i had was at the start of the Game in which you get boarded a lot for some reason (But strangely i believe that the devs did that on purpose) Anyways. I got "No red shirts" (NOBODY DIED!!) 2 mantis,2 engi, 2 slugs, 1 human and one green guy. I think it would have been highly beneficial to get a second green guy. The first thing you need to upgrade is Power bars and shields. Blast doors are important and drone arm is something you need to buy. The nanite health system that it has means that if you upgrade your medical bay you will have trouble with borderers. Its also convenient as fuck because you don't need to send people to the medical bay/fawking expawt. Buying weapons is detrimental. Always kill your enemy unless they offer something rare, fires arent such a bitch with lvl 3 blast doors. beam weapons are shit. But away from "how to play" has anyone reached the conclusion that the game is more of an above average flash game rather than a proper game? - Limited variety of ships. Limited variety of weapons, shields and equipment. - Art style is very lazy. Nebulas look awful and ships look Very easy to produce. - Person vs person combat is extremely basic. - Ships are always of similar size and are 1v1. There is no 2v1 or 2 v 3 or 1 v 13 fighters and a ship. - Crew is limited and your ship is limited and you can't build an armada . there is no Food resource or happiness. No custom ships. No equipment for Crew members. No on board cloning facilities or droid manufacture. No cyberwarfare department!
Baaah, I wish this game had steam cloud. The HDD on my computer died meaning I lost my progress. Now I start a new game on this computer and got the stealth ship. I really need to get to the zone you need to get to for that engi ship again. That one is great.

[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/cc8JB.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/AMIoD.png[/thumb]
I never had much trouble with the first flagship stage. The second however... somehow a flagship with half a wing missing is more dangerous that one that doesn't. Fucker just swarms you with bots. Guess the first order of business in my next playthrough is getting that weapon pre-igniter and a fuckton of missles, so I can blast the flagship's drone room to oblivion before he has a chance to even fart in my general direction. The art is pretty basic but not too bad.
how is a flash game not a proper game
Got into sector six, immediately hit with more unbalanced shit. Used nine missiles and firing everything I had at this one ship with three shields. Everything kept missing, barely anything hit, while he just laid shots down on me like I didn't have 45% evade chance. My shots barely took down his shields, even a weapon that did FOUR ion damage only took their shield room to orange. I couldn't even damage his engine room. It needs way more balancing.
I say it was money well spent but the game has so much more potential it's not even funny
how is a flash game not a proper game
Question.. would you pay £6 (or whatever your currency is) to play something off newgrounds, armor games or miniclip?
Jesus christ the Engi ship is the worst fucking ship ever. MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS It can barely get past level one shields!
