Prospector?

Ha! I accepted an offer from a pirate ship, whihc had some useful stuff and I was about to die anyway. I stuck around that area for a bit, fixing stuff up, putting out fire, having a funeral.
Around when I was about to jump, the other ship spontaneously combusted, if only it would let me take the scrap if that happened.
Had that happen too once. Sucks you don't get stuff from it :v:
It would be fun to be able to have a very expensive gun that has the ability to take down drones and does minor damage to an FTL jumping ship, so if a ship jumps off with barely any hull left you can take it out anyway.
Woke up still drunk at 5am this morning arguing with my duvet since I couldn't pierce its shields.
This game is getting to me.
There should be some chance of people teleporting in to the space around your ship rather than in it if you are cloaked. I was cloaked and then they teleported in and wrecked my shit and now I am sad :(
Been playing the game for a few hours. It's pretty fun but not very deep. I'd like to see just more content like;
More ship parts like power conduits, shield nodes, weapon control consoles etc. Pretty much sub-systems of existing parts that increase effectiveness and can be upgraded and shit.
The ability to give jobs to crew and priorities, like making a dedicated maintenance guy who will automatically repair systems and being able to choose what order to do them in.
Fleet or battlegroup options, you control your own ship, but you can have other ships with you that you can customize the same way you do with your own.
Better economy, resources to trade and haul.
Better combat options, different shield modulations for different situations. Imagine how helpful it would be to modulate for solar flares, or better deflect physical weapons.
Everything here has probably already been said, but that's just my two cents.
So a shield that blocked missiles but didn't stop lasers would be balanced.
Maybe something different like a teleportation jammer, for stopping people and bombs teleporting into your ship
Maybe it's already in the game, I dunno.
Wow, I killed stage 3 of the boss. However he killed me at the same time. What happened you say? Counted as me losing. I gave my life to blow up the flag ship.

Well a ion gun pointed at the teleportation room could kinda count as a jammer I guess.
I somehow survived with 1 crewmember for a good while, usually by stopping fires by opening all the doors, jumping away as soon as possible and repairing if I am lucky enough not to get attacked straight afterwards.
Good thing as an engi it can repair pretty quickly, shame I didn't have repair drones or anti-personnel.
God, I really love the rock men.
The way they put out fires by jumping on them is awesome.
Rock men 4 lyfe.
firebeam + blaster to take down enemy shields
ownage
Anyone got a trainer that works with the version you get from the website? I found one and it has loads of reviews saying it works which are probably all fake but if anyone managed to download it, reuploading it to a website where you don't need to fill out 50 surveys would be nice
So I just realized that killing the crew instead of blowing up the ship is much more beneficial.
So I bought this last night and played a couple of rounds. First round I ran out of missiles and was promptly vaporised around sector 3. The second round I managed to make it to the flagship before suffering a painful death. Had too few missiles and not enough laser to get through the shields often enough to damage it.
that feel when my engine operator Kaylee died to a missile after fighting off invaders

Do tell.

Is it? I've gotten the usual gains other than getting an extra crewmember when burning slavers.
I wish you could sell your excess missiles/drone parts at the shops.
If I'm using a build does not use one of them I always end up with a stupid amount of them and those random trade events don't happen enough.

There's a chance of either finding a prisoner who becomes a part of your crew or finding a weapon along with the usual scrap, missiles and fuel.
Wow, that sense of accomplishment when you travel through sectors with one lone crewman...
I thought I was a gonner after my pilot survived a mantis invasion, four crew members killed, fires everywhere...barely made it out alive. Luckily my ship was rigged to survive and I ended up traveling through a couple sectors before succumbing to missle barrage.
I didnt even know this game existed until this past weekend. Picked it up on a whim and now I cant put the damn thing down, my GF thinks I am insane since I've been yelling at my crewman in a Scottish brogue to perform various functions (Im from Boston)

Well time to rev up them fire beams.
Also reminds me that they should really include equipment management for the crew. Not member per member management, but general customization of their equipment so you can, for instance, give them stronger guns that are slower to shoot, or tasers that only incapacitate boarders so you can throw them in a locked room of your ship and sell them to slave ships, give them explosives for boarding other ships and plant bombs inside the enemy ship, etc.
I'd like to see more animations for dying horribly and more weapons that caused horrible deaths like acid beams or something
strip the flesh
salt the wound
Considering rewriting FTL using the original game assets (loaded at runtime from the game files) and adding modding support. The ability to add new ship types and customise the layout/room placement, ability to add new room types, new weapons, new events etc. Also maybe even multiplayer coop.
Worth my time or nay?
I would love to see this game fleshed out some more with multiplayer. Being able to run a ship with a few friends would be unbelievably awesome, especially if it was first person.
Regardless, I picked the game up because it looked different and I am not disappointed. It's quite fun.
Not sure how multiplayer would work.
Not sure how multiplayer would work.
I was thinking it would work like the flag ship fight in terms of the sector, where you can jump out of the fight and repair, but you can be caught up with if you make a wrong move.
The actual fight would probably be the same just without the ability to pause the gameplay.
Or you have 1 (rather large) ship, and each of you control crewmen?
