god dammit I jumped to one node, it was a star with an auto-scout. After my entire ship caught on fire and almost all of it was oxygen-less I jumped to the next node. LOL FUCK YOUR SHIT HERE'S ANOTHER STAR WITH 3 ROCKMEN TOO.
I've died plenty of times in this game, but I have never had trouble with the flagship whenever I managed to reach it. I've killed it 3 times already, twice on normal, without breaking a sweat. In my most recent victory I lost my entire boarding crew in sector 7 and couldn't find any replacements that weren't Engi or Zoltan. I was afraid that I would be crushed by its 4 weapons without having spare crew members for boarding. Using 1 Ion beam II, 2 basic lasers, a halberd beam, 4 shield layers and a cloaking device, beat the flagship without getting repairs or reaching 25% health. Also, I encountered a rebel drone with 5 layers of shielding. I didn't think that was possible.
Where's the option to see where you can travel to after you travel to the place you're pointing to. (Not sure how I can explain that better, it's odd.) Am I retarded? Because I can't find the option anywhere.
I fucking hate when your ship gets boarded by 4 mantises.
Force them to fight in the medbay and you'll beat them easy.
It doesn't exist, you just have to guess where you can jump to next.
It does exist, check the options menu, hovering over a beacon to show all connected ones got added a few patches ago, in 1.03
It does exist, check the options menu, hovering over a beacon to show all connected ones got added a few patches ago, in 1.03
That'd be why I can't find it, thanks. I need to update my DRM-less version then, just checked my Steam version and it's quite different. I'm an idiot.
The only real issue I've found is the glitch where you can't unselect crew members. So instead of moving this one here and that one there, you have a parade of 4 people marching around the ship. Sure, saving and quitting fixes it, but it's still a major pain, and if it happens in a place where you can't save and quit (like has happened to me) it can fuck up an otherwise good run.
That's a control error when you open the steam overlay...spamming shift and ctrl a couple of times fixes it for me.
Not sure if this game is fun anymore now I've beat the flagship D:
This is such bullshit, I got to stage 2 flagship with my engi ship. I had 3 attack drones mk 1, a burst laser mk 3, full shields and 45% evasion, but I ran out of drone parts on stage one, so I couldn't do shit against stage two......................
...........that's too bad.
Imagine if this game was 3D and super detailed That would be GODLY
Finally beat the game. Started with the very basic ship on normal difficulty and lost 2/3 of my crew on the very first battle. I was so close to just restarting but figured I might as well see how far I can get for shits and giggles. After a while I'm fighting the last form of the mothership with an almost completely upgraded ship with a full crew dodging/ignoring everything it's throwing at me. Didn't even dip below green hull status during the entire fight.
Imagine if this game was 3D and super detailed That would be GODLY
That's called Eve.
[img_thumb]http://niggaupload.com/images/5YMAF.jpg[/img_thumb] Seriously? [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] Two jumps later I got raped by a Rock scout in an asteroid field
Imagine if this game was 3D and super detailed That would be GODLY
No, it wouldn't . It would still suffer from the problems it currently has. - Only 1v1 encounters, which is dull and repetitive. it CAN be unique if the enemy has radical weaponry and bording parties add to flavour... but you're likely to do all this in Two sectors. after that it's just more of the same plus shield strengh. - Limited crew variation. - No interesting or special systems/rooms... like a hacking sub, a hologram emitter, a prison, an auxiliary version of a current system, a mini unit creator* , armory, (*mini units being characters that take half the space of a regular character and probably weak/ uncontrolable with only one function. Such as combat robot spiders, organic spiders, baby mantis, repair spiders etc) - Limited augment system. we should be allowed more- but have ones that conflict with another. Also we should be allowed More varied augments and ships with unique limitations. Like Organic, self repairing hull that limits the shields. - still little ship variation (both playable and non playable). We need distinct classes of ships. Huge Battleships with more than one layer of deck, Carriers, destroyers. lighter ships that travel in groups of two or three. But more importantly new weapons. Like Ion beams , weapons that overload shields rather than bring them down. swarm missiles. radiation beams, powerful weapons which don't pick a target (like the boss's weapons) etc
That's called Eve.
Funny way of spelling Nexus Jupiter Incident
I was a ship of 8... And then the mantis attacked. Only the captain survived. [img_thumb]http://i47.tinypic.com/347toqa.png[/img_thumb] (On another note, fucking love this game)
Funny way of spelling Nexus Jupiter Incident
im sorry im sydlexic
I was a ship of 10... And then the mantis attacked. Only the captain survived. [img_thumb]http://i47.tinypic.com/347toqa.png[/img_thumb] (On another note, fucking love this game)
Best part about having a crew of 10 is how you can only have 8 crewmembers.
Best part about having a crew of 10 is how you can only have 8 crewmembers.
Must've miscounted then.

I know you will disagree, but it isn't as fun starting with a tiny weak ship and 10 hours later you have enough scrap for a super mega death battleship and you die a few minutes later because of some random event. Starting with the weak ship again would be frustrating and boring.
Im actualy getting far with the slug cruiser. Unlocked type B. Im suprised. Two slugs, 4 engies and at one point i had a human and a rockman (but i teleported them into a ship that was blowing up... don't know how) It's quite good with a sizeable crew... Just realy shit that you start with two slugs.
The current game might seem limited to me...then I remember how little I paid for it and all is forgiven. That's not to say I don't want more, but I definitely think I've gotten my money's worth out of this. I've certainly played it more hours than another certain sci fi game with rpg elements that may or may not rhyme with Ass Defect.
I have a Mantis and an Engi that I have decided are best friends because they are constantly helping to repair each other stations. It will suck if one of them dies. [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] Oh my God I love the Fire Beam so much [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] God damn it why is it that whenever I need my guns to impact, the shots go fucking everywhere but the other ship. I mean there's no reason for it when my gunman is basically the best one in the galaxy but he can't hit the big fucking flagship right in front of him. Fuck you mantis whatever your name was you killed me you little green shit.
umpteenth play through and still haven't beat the game.
Took me a while to figure out I can kill fires by draining OXYGEN FROM THE ROOM ITS IN :v:
umpteenth play through and still haven't beat the game.
yeah that's how uh roguelikes work
Took me a while to figure out I can kill fires by draining OXYGEN FROM THE ROOM ITS IN :v:
Did you skip the tutorial or something?
Did you skip the tutorial or something?
I like to learn games as I go instead of using tutorials. Learning feels more rewarding as a result. How is this post dumb? That's how shit worked in the 90s when games didn't have to tell you how to work the controls, you simply had to learn it yourself or have others teach you, and if you learnt it yourself it felt more satisfying.
