Argh, trying to get achieves for Zoltan cruiser is hard, especially the manpower one.
Got em in one. Currently im waiting for a big update. i feel like i have done everything in the game and seen most of the text.
Argh, trying to get achieves for Zoltan cruiser is hard, especially the manpower one.
That and the "destroy a ship before it gets through the Zoltan shield" one were piss easy. Got them both in my first run with the Cruiser.
I've only gotten the encounter that nets you the Zoltan ship once, same with the Rock one. Despite my attempts to go to the ships respected home-worlds the game always seems to jerk me around and send me on paths to controlled sectors. Funny though, I got the crystal ship and it's V2 pretty quickly in comparison to everything else.

I was attacking the Rock ship's engines, preventing it from jumping away and completing the quest. :v: [editline]12th October 2012[/editline] I gotta say, I think I just reached a new level of stupid. Went into an asteroid field with the Stealth Cruiser. Without shields. And the Rebel ship I found has boarding drones. Getting raped by asteroids, missles, lasers and a boarding drone. Not fun.
I feel accomplished. After 20 minutes of back and forth on the Flagship's drone stage, I managed to beat it. Repair drone absolutely saved my life. I would have sexual relations with that repair drone if at all possible. Then the thhird stage it murderlized me. It was actually somewhat easier and calmer than the second stage, but because I couldn't send any of my crew since all but 3 of mine were dead already and the rest preoccupied with not exploding, the missles got me good. Boarding parties are the greatest, though. Rake in the dosh, rolling in crew members and weapons, easy to take out isolated enemy systems.
Just bought the game. Wanted something small and cheap to play when I just have a short bit of downtime to meselfs, and I already knew I wanted to try FTL so... bought! Its either that or get too far ahead in BL2 from everyone else I play with, or play a buggy build of Planetside 2 (which ends up with me spending much more time in than a short nugget).
I got an engi named Notch. Does this mean anything?
I got an engi named Notch. Does this mean anything?
I'll bet he takes a vacation during the battle with the flagship.
I always teleport Notch to the enemy ship for that reason.
I BEAT THE FLAGSHIP FUCK YOUR SHIT FLAGSHIP I AM YOUR GOD NOW GIVE ME YOUR VIRGIN CREW [t]http://niggaupload.com/images/KwvP2.jpg[/t] [editline]14th October 2012[/editline] Best part? I never lost a single crew member.
Damn it. I got to Sector Eight with my Engi ship intact. Four crew members, an ion cannon, hull laser, Mark II Attack drone, and full shields. The hull was completely sound as well. Get to that motherfucking Rebel Flagship and launch my attack drone. Lasers can't get past the shields, missiles automatically miss, and the drone just floats around, completely useless. The Flagship fires four missiles at me, setting the weapon control room alight and torching the Mantis inside. CO2 generator takes a hit, so I send the Zoltan at the controls to repair it. Another volley of missiles destroys our medical bay and the bridge. The hull starts to crack as the ship begins to burn. Before I can react, the ship shudders and disintegrates. FUUUUUUUUCK

FUUUUUUUUCK
The missiles were my downfall for all my previous attempts. Because they're so isolated from the rest of the ship, I beamed my 2 Mantis fully leveled boarding party over. Even while my ship was aflame I sent them over, because if I didn't take them out soon they'd wreck my shit. The Mantis took out the guy manning it and destroyed the missiles before they completely murdered me. From there it was smooth sailing with my Burst Laser II, Burst Laser III, and Hull Laser I. All in all I was firing off 10 laser volleys, which almost always did at least 1 damage after getting through the shields. It was beautiful.
So I get the damaged stasis pod. I get to the ZRF and defrost him. The next warp point I jump to, a Mantis boarding team jumps him and kills him before I even realize he's having trouble. Ffffffuck.
Is there any way to delete your stats and data? I have a few ships called the ARRRRGH and the OHFUCKDIS clogging up the scores, and I'd like to reset and start fresh. I tried reinstalling and deleting the files from my Steam folder, but it didn't seem to help.

I'm kinda disappointed that Ion Bomb gets shortened to I. Bomb, while Fire Bomb just gets shortened to Fire B. I really wanted to fuck up ships with my F.bomb.
the mantis won't leave the bridge =( [editline]15th October 2012[/editline] oh wait i can just disable o2 [editline]15th October 2012[/editline] oh god finally won for the first time on easy, AFTER 24 hours of play wow i really suck won with above ship btw
Why the hell did you drain all the O2 where your guys were. Could have easily only drained three rooms to kill those fuckers.
Why the hell did you drain all the O2 where your guys were. Could have easily only drained three rooms to kill those fuckers.
The door system is down and he probably was fighting them and they went into the cockpit to kill the doors/ the enemy ship killed his doors
After about 28 hours playtime, I finally managed it.
Why the hell did you drain all the O2 where your guys were. Could have easily only drained three rooms to kill those fuckers.
i didn't feel like fighting them so i moved my 3 crew members to the medbay, shut off the pilot into the cockpit area (was still fighting their ship) and vented my ship
C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Games\FasterThanLight
Tried that, didn't work. Deleted the entire folder, but it just regenerated with everything intact. I bought it on Steam, so I'm not sure if Steam's affecting that or not. [editline]15th October 2012[/editline] Never mind. For some reason, when I left the window open to keep an eye on it, it didn't regenerate again. Thanks!
with my last fucking missile fuck yeah motherfuckers
with my last fucking missile fuck yeah motherfuckers
How on earth did you get there without non-missile weapons? surely you'd have run out in a fight and been cut to shreds.
How on earth did you get there without non-missile weapons? surely you'd have run out in a fight and been cut to shreds.
Well, he's got great shields, engines and pilot. He'd probably be able to stay alive for long enough to warp out.
Doesn't the rock ship by default start out with 20 missiles? I'd imagine it's a game of conserving and slowly building up a decent reserve supply as you would with drones, but on a much larger scale.
Well, he's got great shields, engines and pilot. He'd probably be able to stay alive for long enough to warp out.
What about missile defense drones. Phase 2 of the boss has a good chunk of em, which would make his entire ship useless.
Defence drones don't work when you teleport over your rockman/mantis party combo.
the answer to all your questions is just two words boarding party [editline]17th October 2012[/editline] also i had weapon pre-igniter so most fights are decided in about 3 seconds :v:

I had about 50 drone parts by the time of the fight. I used 3. And won.
