When the mechanics overhaul happens, that'll probably be possible.
Along with huge moving fortress parts, too.
Really can't wait for that and the liquids thing, too.
Wait what.

Uristdämmerung muss fliegen...
Is the next big update focusing on adventure mode? I kind of feel like it would be better just to focus on the game's strongest point instead. Personally, I don't find the unique elements to DF really make up for lack of many classic Roguelike elements when it comes to Adventure mode.
It is my goal to find a way to create a moving fortress
I will find out how, and I will create the best damn thing ever done by dwarven kind

Does it make a difference having rotten meat in animal traps rather than normal meat?

Entire fortress contained within minecarts?
Can't be done, only a finite number of cats can fit into a minecart.

Build the entire Fortress on a single support linked to a lever. Pull the lever and the entire fortress will move. Downwards. Very quickly. Then in lots of different directions.
So I embarked on a tiny island in the ocean with a volcano, that was unfortunately calm and half of it is a good biome. I'm playing Masterwork, and... it just snowed rock. I have no idea how I should feel about this.

Do stones actually appear on the ground? :v:
I'm so proud of my wee double bridge set up that lets me flood out intruders by blocking them in and opening the floodgate that leads directly to this very large container of water filled constantly from a river, i'm in love.
Do stones actually appear on the ground? :v:
No, just "a pile of rock" where it 'snowed.' I'm genuinely unsure of what this rock-snow is and/or does other than freak my dwarves right the fuck out.

It is rocks
[editline]11th February 2013[/editline]
From the volcano?
No. Volcano's don't do shit IIRC.
To be fair he is using masterwork, it does some crazy shit
Well, here's the tricky part. It's only present in the good biome part of my map. Which is also where the volcano is. So I honestly don't know.
They are rocks of good fortune

I've never had that happen and I'm playing masterwork too.
I actually like the muskets and to an extent, just because it almost balances those warlocks and frost giants out enough to make them feel like skeletal elephant carp.

Or concussions
Sooooo a forgotten beast that happens to be a blob made out of steam has appeared.
Should I be worried?

It's made of steam. That's water in air. Unless it steam-cooks your dwarves in their armor, it can't do much to you.
EDIT:
New devlog:
Rare moment of restraint! The information and mechanics I need for the initial stages of the insurrection against occupying armies is more or less the same as the information and mechanics I need for the criminal role for later adventure mode. The existing dwarf mode crime stuff is enough to get me through, so I won't be adding the entire thief role to adventure mode now, he he he. In any case, your efforts against the goblins are going to be entirely dependent on who sees you and whom you talk to, and whom they get a chance to tell about it, so you'll be rewarded not only for stealth, but at times for discretion.
just had a wave of migrants arrive with this impressive little pup

There HAS to be a way to train up dwarf biters. Maybe diet of rocks?
Grey Langurs happened. I have no idea how they managed to burn half the map.

Is it possible to use DFhack to get rid of the tile on the edge of the map? Because I need somewhere to drain water to, and the only place available is blocked by an un-mineable tile.
Somehow, thieves keep getting into my fort, grabbing ruined clothing and then running out the main gate, across the bridge and straight into my spinning dick traps.
There bits of goblin everywhere.

Water can drain through fortifications, if you smooth it and carve them into it (My current fort has an entire layer, only a few levels above the magma sea that has the entire edge fortifications.
using DFHack though, you can use tiletypes
An Approximate how-to:
get a cursor over the tile, designations or look around, whatever, it doesn't matter.
then, into DFHack, put in the following commands:
tiletypes
point - you only want that single tile
paint shape floor - you're painting a floor
run - Okay, go!
q - now you're done with the tile painter, go back to DFHacks usual console.
Not a very good explaination, I know, but it should turn the selected tile into a floor (that some cavedwelling creatures might be able to visit your fort from)
Sadly where I'm channeling around to is all soil, so I was either going to have to fuck around with screw pumps or use DFHack. That helps tremendously, thanks.
[editline]12th February 2013[/editline]
Is there an actual Masterwork wiki? And if so, does anyone have a link? Google searching is bringing up wikis with 2 pages and just the normal DF wiki.
So how do you guys like to achieve wealth? i.e. what do you guys like to make for caravans?

As far as I know there is no such thing. Closest you'll get is the manual that comes with every download of the mod.
