So how do you guys like to achieve wealth? i.e. what do you guys like to make for caravans?
Most of my forts overflow with Prepared meals and raw ingredients, so I sell masterpiece Prepared Meals and often buy lots of wood for making more barrels since I never have enough. or... I go with the usual, rock crafts.
So how do you guys like to achieve wealth? i.e. what do you guys like to make for caravans?
Fuckin Rock Crafts all the way
So how do you guys like to achieve wealth? i.e. what do you guys like to make for caravans?
Rock crafts, trap components, whatever excess shit I steal from previous caravans.
So how do you guys like to achieve wealth? i.e. what do you guys like to make for caravans?
Q, make rock x, R After like a year my craftdwarf makes masterpiece *Rocksalt Bracelet* etc all the time
RIP fort, you were my best yet :') [thumb]http://imgur.com/XDVu6AG.png[/thumb] (Basically a combo of a malfunctioning drowning trap, angry dwarves throwing permatantrums and dodgy dwarven engineering)
So I've made a torture room for Goblin prisoners where the room is entirely weapon traps with training weapons used. Is there anyway to make these traps more effective? So far all the traps get deflected by cloth armor or parryed. I want Goblins to get the shit beat out of them while they slowly die of thirst damnit.

So I just realised I haven't made targets for my marksdwarves to practice with. I thought I could make them at a craftdwarves workshop but I can't see it. Did Masterwork change that? I remember I had to correct a line in the raws so I could make steel bars at the crucible, maybe it's something of the sort?

"A" as I recall, don't need to build one in a workshop.

Well there goes that fort... A forgotten beast made it in to the fortress. Normally wouldn't be a problem, it's just that it is made of red diamond, has wings and breathes poisonous gas...
Are Forgotten Beasts randomly generated?
Yup, with random syndromes and random forms of transmission too!

No longer was an underwater fort. Military killed it but many got their fat melted off their bones and died of blood loss, most survived with "just" 1-2 limbs melted.

So as it turns out, I'm fairly certain I have no neighbors on my little volcanic island. I had not considered this when I embarked. I'm fairly certain my only threats are going to be random wildlife and the caverns.

It would have taken like, years of rainfall to replace that.
So you're really fucked now because now all the world's megabeasts haven't been killed by civs.
Well, there are still civs all over the place, - and a fair few megabeasts - but I can only interact with the home civ. So no outside trade other than dwarves, and no sieges of any kind. My biggest threat right now is either fucking up when playing with my volcano, or random creatures. Like those sloth bears that caused my only casualty. Fuckers.

The name was deceiving, trust me. Ripped off his hand and then clawed him to death nearly instantly. And then made it off the map before my militia commander could kill him.
Right so, i've got a good fort on the go here but this has happened: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/DILcmjn.png[/thumb] Sent my squads to go deal with the big ol cave spiders as usual, spider webbed us down a 1 wide hallway, EVERYONE came down to check what's what so now literally my entire fort bar 3 is in this one hallway being permawebbed, can i do anything or is this fort destined to the fuck pile? EDIT: Nevermind, she's gone cap'n.
Is there a way to make my clothiers use only dyed cloth?
Is there a way to make my clothiers use only dyed cloth?
Yes, the orders menu. Press "o" in the main ingame menu. It should say what key it is right there.
Is there a reason why I'm able to craft low boots and not high boots? the wiki says the inverse should be true. Is my dwarven civ just missing the technology for high boots?
Is there a reason why I'm able to craft low boots and not high boots? the wiki says the inverse should be true. Is my dwarven civ just missing the technology for high boots?
In some worlds, dwarves can't craft high boots. Dunno why.
In some worlds, dwarves can't craft high boots. Dunno why.
maybe they evolved to no longer need shins
In some worlds, dwarves can't craft high boots. Dunno why.
They haven't evolved the intellectual capacity for any thought involving high boots.
short legs
In some worlds cannabis hasn't been discovered yet, hence: no high boots
