Goose's Faction Server 2 - Go Away Popillil Edition

Got killed by rage outside my house. Back to punching trees and repairing TNT holes I guess.
rageblood when you said you were coming back to this server, and when goose removed you from whitelist, i stood out for you, i talked goose into letting you back in under one condition: no stupid wars. you promised not to start any of that, but you did. that doesn't make you a warlord, a tactician or anything good. it makes you, plain and simple, a griefing cunt.
It's okay, I'm getting more dimunds so he can kill us even more.
Goose's Counter-Terrorism Server
Also Rage. Stop with your stupid videos. You're driving people away from the server you tit.
I joined because I saw WAR. videos on YouTube
Without rage, stagnation would be the name of the game.
Stagnation makes me want to stop playing.
Goose, IronCross's fortress is broken as shit.
It's literally impossible to siege because if you try to build up to it to attack, you get sniped. And there is no other fucking way in. It's also such a goddamn double standard that they can have flying castles but airships which at least have a fucking MODE OF OPERATION, are banned because of "lore"
no, airships are banned because of OP
no, airships are banned because of OP
And having a castle that is totally immune to any kind of seige isn't. :downs:
I hate the last 5 posts. Here is a hint. Build up when they're offline, set up a nice little system of cover, then bomb their shit and ender pearl over. Boom. You can make it over. Also spoiler alert: The server had wars before rage, they just took a while to build up and actually had meaning behind them. How do I know? I've been here since day one. Zert and I used to go to war pretty frequently.
Also anyone who can sit through one of those videos, in its entirety, needs a higher standard for entertainment. Sorry guys. If they had all the sitting around chatting, waiting for shit to catch on fire, and otherwise just general downtime cut out, MAYBE they would be tolerable. But as it stands they're in dire need of a good editor. The first little teaser trailer for this server he released was edited better than the last one, but was lacking any and all combat.
tl;dr rage has no useful purpose on the server and you're all tools.
tl;dr rage has no useful purpose on the server and you're all tools.
I respect your opinion.
But what would everyone be doing right now if LD wasn't around? Building?
I was on SKS's when RB wasn't around and guess what? No war, ever, the whole time.
There was maybe 1 or 2 important kills PER MONTH and there was no TNT and nothing interesting happening.
It was just building, and by the end of it Imperium alone had hundreds of diamonds and a massive supertower/pit that was inpenetrable on 3 layers. Not that they had anything to be afraid of.
Now, ancient enemies band together. Unlikely alliances are forged. Old ambitions rekindled. And as enemies rise faster than allies, salvation cannot come from one faction alone. But from many.

Are you fucking retarded? OFFLINE PROTECTION.
Are you fucking retarded? OFFLINE PROTECTION.
wait until they log on hurrr
So, we have to wait until they are offline, then stay online 24/7 with our ridiculous looking vertical siege engine, camping until they come on?

Because it would be terrible if a whole three weeks into the start of a server there wasn't war.

When I thought Bulet had betrayed me, I waited 8 hours near his shop to confront him.
LD loves conflict as long as they don't have to invest anything into it.

Because standing by a shop all day is TOTALLY the same thing as creating a fucking sky-high monolith and waiting for a chance to finally break into a broken, nonsensical overpowered as shit base.
Go fuck yourself.

Yeah it is. You build a sky high thing and fucking sit there. It's not exactly a huge investment of time and resources. Before ships you had to do essentially the same thing to siege islands, build from the ocean floor up to make it feasible, and you know what? People fucking did it all the time, so stop crying. I wouldn't mind LD nearly as much if they didn't have this sense that they're doing something productive for the server. What was the purpose in burning down Shipwrights shit? Like honestly I understand you guys attacking us after we destroyed your base, that makes sense. But burning down shipwrights shit and killing random players and stuff is pointless and childish, and the worst part of it is the second someone makes it HARD for you to kill them you cry about it.
[editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
As a matter of fact, I commend IronCross for coming up with a strategy that makes you guys have to work for it. War shouldn't be something you do just on a whim, it should be meticulously planned and thought out, and prepared for. Not hurr we're bored let's go burn something.

I didn't agree with the destruction of the shipwrights, I wasn't here at the time.
But you just fucking HATE LD on principle and agree with any fucking overpowered nonsense that can be used to ruin them. WHY DO YOU THINK BOATS WERE ADDED, IF NOT TO COUNTER ISLAND BASES?

They were added because goose has literally always wanted a good plugin for boats. he has a hardon for them. We hang out. I know this for a fact. No one ever cried about island bases being overpowered before, ever. And one in the sky really isn't all that different.
And it doesn't matter whether you agree with it or not lol, that's the problem with LD is you all are like oh yeah but that was rage not us. He's in your faction dude, and everyone holds the whole faction responsible, not just rage.
I hate LD on principle because the entire point of the server is supposed to be to build civilizations and have natural tensions arise between those nations, like between IH and Imperium in gen 1. Not these meta bullshit boredom raids.
[editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
Also note, a ship was not used when LD's island base was destroyed. Everyone just swam the fuck over and built platforms in the sea to build cannons on.
[editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
Also someone having a hard to siege castle "ruining" LD is really quite telling of your nature as a faction.
If people are saying you need terrorists like Rageblood to attack people with no reason to spur the action, then maybe people need to start making deals and risks with other factions rather than just sitting there crying out for santa Rageblood to bomb an innocent faction to cause a war.

All I am going to say, is that the only people I heard crying about the server being boring, at least before school started and the average number of players online went down, was LD.

I can understand this, but right now it's not ABOUT "meta-bullshit" raids. It's about that our island was destroyed, and we are upset about that. But IC is indestructible monster in the sky due to the way flying bases are set up. If you try to attack them while they are online, you are sniped and dead due to the fact there is no stealth approach to the base and siege attempt is blatantly obvious. If you want to do it why they are offline, then you have to build a spergy looking flying peice of shit just to break their walls, and then use ender pearls just to fucking get inside the base. And once you are inside, the still have the advantage because there is no way to leave the base and survive without another enderpearl. This is not necesary AT ALL on island bases.
My biggest problem is that the base is fucking nonsecle.
"Yeah, this is a fantasy faction combat server, no flying boats and stuff."
"What about the indestructible superstructure in the sky?
"Nah that's okay."
I agree that rage should stop forcing unnecessary wars, though. Next time he does that i'm out.
This is all really, really silly. There is a lot of drama over practically nothing.
What rrunyan said about there being pretty much no war on SKS's was about right. Despite that, I do also think that LD (and probably more specifically, Rageblood) is being really silly about this. That's pretty much why I decided to leave and join Imperium after escaping from what probably would have been a jail, because I didn't want to be involved in all this kind of nonsense.
Flying bases are indeed more difficult to siege, but that doesn't make them OP. There are definitely ways to take them down, you guys just weren't trying hard enough to see them.
tl;dr LD lost a battle, flying bases aren't OP and this is a big deal over nothing important.
[editline].[/editline]
What REALLY needs to happen is factions need to naturally get frustrated with each other instead of people just randomly assaulting each other just because they feel like it. You can't force war like that in Minecraft, because all it ever leads to is people whining about it in the thread.
I can understand this, but right now it's not ABOUT "meta-bullshit" raids.
Your island was destroyed because we knew Rage was up to his old meta-bullshit raiding and burning shit, i.e. shipwrights, and he burned some of USBR's shit too, and everyone else on the server is frankly sick of it. So even though you have a legitimate reason to be taking revenge on us, it stemmed from an illegitimate bullshit meta raid.
Also nothing is indestructible. I can think of one flaw in having a floating base, number one being that it's floating and can be completely destroyed with enough TNT, much easier than you could completely destroy a ground level structure. And yep, you're going to need eyes of ender, but it isn't impossible. Hell, you could try to scope out where their stronghold is and siege that instead, get through their enderportal and apparently it is right next to their beds. Point being, no fort is impenetrable, and you just are going to have to work for it.
Your island was destroyed because we knew Rage was up to his old meta-bullshit raiding and burning shit
I'll be honest here, when I joined LD at the beginning of this generation I was told that we were going to change and we wouldn't be doing all the stuff we used to do, but then I log on one day and I see USBR's ship docked at our island. We weren't actually going to do the usual meta-raiding, but I guess rage changed his mind.
Rageblood was told not to play like an asshole. If he brings in players with his videos, that's a good thing. But if he pisses off regular players with his spontaneous attacks, he's going to bring the playercount down too. Maybe if he recorded justified attacks nobody would have an issue. I was a little annoyed to find that one day some faction had destroyed my cocoa plantation and ravaged Plentis wheat farms for no particular reason. We had no time to gear up for it and it was all a bit silly.
I'll be honest here, when I joined LD at the beginning of this generation I was told that we were going to change and we wouldn't be doing all the stuff we used to do, but then I log on one day and I see USBR's ship docked at our island. Which I understand. I don't hate everyone in LD, but you all need to understand you are all going to be held responsible for Rage's bullshit, so you're going to just have to deal with people like me having a shitlow opinion of your faction, and not exactly feeling a bunch of pity when you can't blow someone's castle up.
When a part of a country's government does something shitty, people tend to hold the whole country responsible, and as Rage is your leader, he's a pretty big part of your faction.
Wow, I am really surprised that the destruction of my faction was such a political turning point.
I think I know what's wrong. It's a bit of a chain of events that happened for a single cause. That cause is, in my opinion, the lack of shit to do. Now most of the time, people make shit to do between them. A great example of that would be MirVaal, that was a 10/10 jolly cooperation. As time went by on the server, and people started knowing other people very well, they knew what they were going to do. Everyone knows Imperium will build, Zert will go to war, Rageblood go doing stupid shit for no reason. That's all dandy.
Everyone got a little bit paranoid, and afraid of each other. Everyone is to blame for that. That's how things work. So people started hiding from each other, even going solo sometimes, out of fear. Fear leads to a reaction oftentimes. That reaction is war. When the tension snaps, hell erupts. LD started doing what they always did out of boredom, this made people mad because it's the same-old same-old, LD got a little bit carried away and found a base they can't just take over that easy. This sudden stop caused TraderRager to have a bitch fit. That's all natural.
The way to fix all this is to have an event (goos pls). Events always brought people together, or apart, atleast they did something. When you think of it, MirVaal was also because of an "event". Goose added ships, a huge plugin that revolved around building, so that pushed everyone forward to come together and make something out of it. Whoever says the time of MirVaal was boring, I disagree entirely. It really was one of the best times I had on this server. Everyone was really friendly to each other. Even Matt, who we didn't like because he was burning our ships and dock, we didn't really hate him. He was an annoyance and that was a part of the whole experience.
Another way to fix all this is to make people not hate each other anymore. Everyone be friendly, no more backstabbing, no more mindless wars. Everyone just needs a clean slate.
i just wrote a wall of text i dont even know what i wrote
so chill the fuck out
I don't think anyone ever hated Matt. He was our pet goof.
