Goose's Faction Server 2 - Go Away Popillil Edition

What are the criteria for joining the Alliance? If someone would be interested in helping repair the ruins of my old faction's base, I would gladly create a new one and join your group.
Criteria for joining alliance is have a faction over 5 players. Or if you have something you want to contribute "for the greater good". Be it materials, land, bases, labor, or people from your faction.
-Along with our stance against war to uphold the golden age, we shall build infrastructure from all Alliance cities to one another. (Roads, Railways, pitstops etc.)
-And Faction Cities/Bases if requested
-We will make several random neutral buildings throughout the landscape. Watchtowers, farms and maybe even secrets. Only the oligarchy will know.

Yeah, my faction's ruins are fairly close to Iron Horde and the rest of the central players. The only problem is we were raided of most valuable things and the faction has nobody left in it. I'll figure something out, though.
Also, control of Alliance resources and direction will be divided like stocks according to how much has been given to the team.
4 Members = 40 stacks of Materials = 1 Base = 1 1/2 days of work put in = 4 "Shareholds"
The amount given will be considered percentage wise with the rest of the contributers. I reserve 10% of the faction, while the other 90% ownership is decided by the above guidelines.

Each new member gets 1 Sharehold for themselves. I will keep the books
Although I agree with Goose, there are times when there is really nothing left to do.
Since our goal with Iron Cross was to create a respectable faction, we didn't wage war with random factions. I just don't see what we could have done after the war against Los Diablos. This worked against us in the end, because when we have all the resources and equipment we need, and practically infinite wealth, the only thing left to do is to attack someone. Most of the time, though, no one deserves to be attacked, so we just sit around adding to our already massive stockpile, with our flying military fortress discouraging anyone but a super-faction from touching us. We had no defensive battles, and no offensive wars.
Another part of the server becoming "boring" for us, is that we don't agree with trying to re-balance the game. Ender Pearl teleports served many uses other than bypassing walls, including being a way down from our fortress. Disabling them was a step towards more interesting combat in some ways, but it ruined other things. For example, reaching our fortress is impossible without Ender Pearls, because you can't build across the claimed gap between our borders and our fortress. Then you add a combat plugin to completely change the PvP, making it more complex, which pretty much meant we'd have to learn how to fight all over again if we did return to the server.
Ender Chests being controlled is understandable, as a personal world-wide storage that can't be stolen from, or even viewed by admins is bad for a PvP server in all senses. The big problem with these changes, however, is that with each game-changing plugin added, the server feels less like Minecraft. We've had a similar discussion before, and I can understand that what Goose wants is more like a Minecraft-Civilization server rather than a anarchic PvP server like the others, but I don't think that warrants changing the game in such dramatic ways as disabling items and modifying the core PvP experience that everyone is used to.
I liked Goose's Server just the way it used to be. No game-changing plugins, just useful ones.

Join the Alliance and we will stand together for server semi-vanillization!
As a side note, we opened up the Iron Cross Contracting Service as a way for anyone to give us tasks to complete when we were bored.
The idea didn't catch on, as we received a grand total of ONE serious contract request, which I think is safe to declassify now.
I want to convince Rageblood to step down from head of LD without breaking the faction apart. I want this as quietly and non-violently as possible, and most of all I can NOT be implicated in any way.
Not exactly what we had in mind for a first contract. It's sad that we couldn't find something productive to do in the server without waging war, even by offering help to others.
It doesnt matter, if people don't contract anything, we will just altruistically build cities and infrastructure between alliance factions

Then after its over you guys can wage war and reduce it all to rubble in time for the next update

It's nice to see someone trying to get things moving in the server, but the Iron Cross faction is dead, and judging by speed and content of posts in this thread, the server is in deep recession.
Our fortress, Astrumarce, was claimed by Zertopia. We've lost all that we worked for. We've been done playing for a while now, and we won't have anything to come back to. It would take a new map at the very least to bring us back.

The plugins have to change with the game. When Minecraft gets new updates, it adds new features that change the game. If I left my server how it was back in the day, it would be nothing but a mob farm pvp click contest with underground bases. The server has to adapt and evolve. Minecraft is not made with factions in mind. Certain things in the game make factions and the way I intend my server to work impossible. Ender Pearls that make walls fucking useless and aren't hard to get, whoevercanclickthefastestwins pvp, water that stops explosions, enderchests that hold items that only one person can access, etc. These are all things I have to work around when it comes to working with a game that was built around the idea of friendly building. The combat plugin doesn't change combat THAT much. All it does is make it so you can't just simply rage click on someone and hope they die before you do. It just means you have to use other things in the game to your advantage. Things like bows, blocking, potions, knockback enchants, etc.

There isn't much room for me to argue. It's your server, and you can do what you want with it, etc.
I'm just upset that the only Minecraft PvP server that I could ever get into, is becoming different from the server I liked in the first place. I hope that by the time the server becomes active and eventful again, with a new map, it won't be too different from the server I used to know.
MeinKrauft signing out.
I think all the changes thus far have been for the better. I'm just eager to see more people online again.
As am i
If you guys spent as much time on the server as you did complaining in this thread, it wouldn't be empty at all.
I got the GTX 660 Ti and I can't play Minecraft anymore :(

Is it just minecraft, or all games?

Also, I'm building an underwater base. wish me luck!

Everything else works fine, except Minecraft. I haven't had much success finding a solution either. I've tried different drivers and registry edits, all to no avail.
Did you try restarting your computer?
Nice Rainmeter setup, Phoe!
There's a dev driver for nvidia with beta openGL 4.3 support. Dunno if that would change anything, but it might be worth a shot.

Disregard that, fucking drivers don't support 660ti gg nvidia

Well I know that, I just thought that the plugin allowed plants under glass, which I tested before and it worked. Glass and water is too much I guess.

Really? Hmmm. Maybe something goofed up or I forgot to add the item id's to the exception list?
I'll check it out later. I thought I added the item id's though...
And by "Don't grow", do you mean that you can't plant them, or that they just...don't grow? Because I can't change growing behavior. The plugin only blocks planting.

You can grow things in greenhouses and underwater in real life without special equipment. Cant actually grow wheat and other shit with torch light though, so thats why underground farms dont work.
Well, my farm is a nether wart farm for now then.
Alright, I think I fixed it. Turned out I didn't have water added as an ignored block.
I also set most non-opaque blocks to be ignored (torch, buttons, levers, fences, etc).

Does the game take into account the fact that it gets darker the further down you go, so if you try to grow shit too deep it won't work?
Alright Jebkun is gonna update soon so when he does unban me so I can see what's new and contribute a little :3
