In your hotbar*, has to be kept in a chest in order to be secure, and I can set how much damage you need to do to a person in order for them to be imprisonable. And without the end, Endermen are going to be rare.

He tested a mod before that literally allowed you to nab anyone across the world with just some string. So I have to say, this is a great improvement over that.
The possible final version of the map is being exported from the editor as I type. Lets hope this is what I'm happy with.

Just some info about the map:
It is limited. Going to either try and have it be wrapped, so you can travel "around the world". Or just put a border on.
This also means that minerals are limited as well. Things like Coal and Iron are essentially unlimited (there is a shit ton of it, just like in real life), while Gold, Diamonds and Emeralds are very rare and are located in certain mountain ranges. Iron and Coal will be in higher concentration inside of many mountains as well.
There are no strongholds, End, or NPC Villages.
For the time being, I'm going to nerf fire until the plugin I want is made ([url]http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/flammability-dependent-on-rainfall.107421/#post-1389076[/url]).

Seriously, if I kill you and capture you, then shove you in an ender chest, you may as well quit the server because if I wanted to I could make sure you literally never escape
I mean, it's really cool, but for some people this will essentially mean the end (no pun intended) of them. I don't think this is a good idea unless there is some other way that the player can break out.

I'm not sure I like the idea of limited resources/map. How big is the map exactly?

I remember something along the lines of 5000x5000, but I kind of like the idea of limited resources. It'll provide a better incentive for raiding and pillaging than "i hate these people on the forums, let's destroy their hard work".
I guess we can only see how it goes. And if it doesn't work at all, Goose can just spawn new materials underground whenever they completely run out.

Uh, I won't be spawning more minerals lol. There is enough Iron and Coal to last for pretty much the entire lifetime of this map. Diamonds and Emeralds on the otherhand, you guys are going to have to value and use wisely. I'm not saying that you'll run out within days, but if you guys get greedy and use all the resources up, that's something that you're going to have to work around. It's a challenge, and it's realistic. The more Diamonds and Emeralds you mine, the rarer and harder to find they become.
It's a design choice, not a trade off. This is how it should be.

Oh, and the world is around 8000x8000 I believe. I had to make it proportional so the world wrap and world border plugins could work.
Is it possible to make it so that the pearl only has a 33% or 50% chance of successfully imprisoning? That way if a battle breaks out not all the losers will be captured.

Nah, there isn't. And I'm running into a problem with factions. People could just imprison someone and kill them constantly to bring down a factions power.
Making them go to the nether when imprisoned would mean that other players could actually find them in the nether and steal them from the other person. This could be used to free a player, if someone wanted to. So it wouldn't really mean that the person will be stuck forever if the holder puts their pearl in an enderchest, it just means someone would have to capture them in the nether to free them.
It won't be on the server sadly, but I thought it was really neat. With a few features (like the one you just suggested), it would be a nice addition.

If they were trapped in the Nether, would finding/building a nether portal set them free?

No, they would die in the overworld because they would be so far from their holder. At least, that's what it sounds like. I haven't tested it with nether portals, but I think once you're in the regular world, it checks how far you are from your captor.

From what I read in the plugin, it would only do that if your captor summons you. So if you weren't summoned, you should be okay
At least, that's how I believe it works
Although the plugin maker also mentioned that it would only bring people to The End, and that the location wasn't configurable yet anyway

Anyway, I'm at work right now, but I should be able to put the finishing touches on the map tonight.
Maybe you could only jail someone for a week or something?
Imperium would own the entire server for only a week if ya did that.
It's not going to be in for now anyways. Maybe if Goose contacts the plugin dev to see if he'll add more configurable options then we'd probably use it.
Are people still going to hold onto their old faction identities or will they make new ones?
Alright, a bit of an update.
So, I have done some plugin mucking around and updated the server to try and balance the current new features, and some old one.
- Enderchests are disabled. It sucks, but as of right now, there is no fair or logical way to make these work with factions right now. It seems like everything "ender" related is overpowered. This feature is really hard to get working with a faction server, same goes for enderpearls.
- Invisibility potions have been made to make you invisible when you are standing still, but not when in movement. I think this is a fair.
- Firespread is off right now. It's planned to be temporary, so don't worry too much about it. I just need to wait for the plugin I want to be made. There has been some interest in my idea, so hopefully it will be soon. If not, I'll find someone to do it hopefully.
- BookWorm is gone for good. A dated plugin that is now completely obsolete. Its last remaining feature were book cases, which are now done better with other plugins. The new plugin, "Shelf-it" makes it so bookcases combine into one "bookshelf" when you open them. Much like how chest space expands when you make a double chest.
- Trees will automatically plant a sapling when they grow full size, and saplings will plant themselves after waiting a minute on open grass or dirt.
- You can craft Mossy Stone Bricks by surrounding a Stone Brick block with vines in a workbench.
- Epic Glass is gone. Broke as fuck. We'll see if they update it.
- Spawn will be located on an island in the middle of the main ocean. Whatever direction you decide to go is up to you. Build a little boat and explore.
- Oceans are deep. We're talking 10 blocks off the bedrock.
As for the map. There are a few changes I need to make in the editor, so that means I need to reexport it, which will take a while. So It will [B]hopefully[/B] be on the server tomorrow night. It takes about an hour or so to upload to the server. It's a gig. Pretty big ass world.
