Is it really a good idea to get rid of faction homes and respawning? I mean, it's really [I]hardcore[/I] and everything, but it's also really annoying and unfun to have to walk all the way home just because a bed is gone. It's the difference between dark souls being difficult and this being boring and punishing. I think you should reenable faction homes, because I don't take video games seriously enough to have to run thousands of blocks to get to where I was building.

I've kinda gotta agree with rrunyan. I tried inviting a few of my friends to the server, and most of them quit right away because it was a huge hassle to boat, climb and trek hundreds of miles just so that we can try and start to build a bed. I mean, it can be pretty fun to explore like that, it poses a unique challenge, and I usually don't mind much (although when a creeper gets into my house and destroys the bedroom, it really is a major inconvenience), but it's a pretty huge turnoff for most people and I don't see how it does more good than bad. I guess that people could abuse /f home to teleport when they get into combat or get hungry, but I remember a server I was on adding a timer so that you had to hold still for 30 seconds before you teleported. Still, I don't mind either way. Just adding my two cents. [editline]10th November 2012[/editline] It also makes the transportation of more than 3 people at a time practically impossible, but that might be intended.

It is as intended. Beds exist as a personal spawn point. Use em. If a creeper gets Ito your bedroom or blows up your bed, that's shitty, but you should really take it as a lesson instead of telling me to make the game easier. Build your bedrooms in a safe location, or close your doors. Death is something that should be inconvenient. If its hard for your friends to get to your location, help them out by going to their location, or walking them through the situation. You guys make it sound like its extremely hard to do anything, and honestly it's not. I was able to get to shore and get a basic shelter up without dieing. You just need to get your priorities straight when you join. This isn't supposed to be easy. Many people are doing just fine and are loving the challenge. I'm sorry if its not your cup of tea, but I honestly don't see what's so hard about making a bed in a safe area.

I said I'm fine with it. I've only had about 2 or 3 bad occasions with the bed and I think it's fun. I just thought I'd say my opinion.

I'm no stranger to making things balanced or removing a feature be quad it's just too much of a pain in the ass (see the death ban thing) but I just think that the server is at a pretty good balance right now. Obviously this server isn't for everyone, and I'm sorry your friends split because it was too difficult. I'm not attempting to please everyone and make this server as marketable as possible. I'm trying to make a server that I want to play on. If I end up making it something that I'm not happy with, I might as well just stop having a server all together. You can go anywhere to get a factions server or a build server. I'm trying to stick out from the crowd. If the vast majority likes the simple, easy, and nerfed version of a factions server, so be it. I want to only attract the people who are looking for this type of gameplay. So far I think I've found a good amount of people who like it. If there is any typos it's because I'm on my phone and typing with it sucks.
