Jogging you should do that "air is toxic" idea. I thought that was pretty cool. I've been considering it for the server but I just don't have time in between work, the TV station, and the girlfriend.
me and papaya tried once the toxic air plugin is outdated/doesn't work and we forgot to test it before we paid for the server. rip

I've been considering it for the server but I just don't have time in between work, the TV station, and the girlfriend.
It's definitely planned. If a replacement isn't out by 1.6, I'll code one myself, because I'm really keen to make some server-unique plugins (even if I have to learn Java). It seems like a basic enough plugin anyway (especially when the api comes out), I remember on another server someone made a plugin that burnt anyone in contact with sunlight (was a dorf-themed server).
If this server goes dorf, I'm gonna install minecraft on this PC and hit that shit up
RIP GOOSE
i just forgot i never showed the animations i made for the server forever ago. you guys wanna see them?
aight here: in order of events some info on this scene, ryjinn (i think)'s rig messed up and i couldn't fix it (main cause of abadoning this project besides server dying) but i wanted to finish the scene so i just mcguyver'd it
I remember those... I don't remember, however, if I was ever in one of them.
you were going to be killed in some hilarious way that humiliated you i think i remember
That's right. Ever considered finishing that scene?
are you dead in a humiliating way
Not yet. I always thought, though, that me walking in and taking a stray arrow to the face wouldn't have been a bad way to take the scene.
Or running away from something, straight into lava.
Alright, these are just some of the ideas I'd like to implement into my non-existant server once 1.6 comes out. None of this shit is final. Some of it is pants-on-head huurduur and needs further refining, but for the most part, yeah. Tell me what you think anyway. http://pastebin.com/DLZzKDtR [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] Also sorry for the shitty formatting I did in it, it looked better in notepad. [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] Oh cool, you can toggle text-wrapping in pastebin. Looks much better that way. [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] 7:51 PM - Turtleey: why have this extensive terrain and massive forests and stuff like that 7:51 PM - Turtleey: if you're intentionally stopping people from going anywhere 7:51 PM - Turtleey: and restricting people to caves for the sake of ambience 7:52 PM - Turtleey: tbh I think something that could work a bit better is that trees filter out the "fog" 7:52 PM - Jogging Bear: not stopping them, damage is minor at best. Glass helmets would be very easy to craft with sand errywhere. And players can still create fortresses and houses above ground 7:52 PM - Turtleey: and forest biomes absorb the fog completely 7:52 PM - Turtleey: that way, these beautiful environments you're apparently creating 7:52 PM - Turtleey: will be mostly visible 7:52 PM - Jogging Bear: actually, thats pretty good 7:52 PM - Turtleey: but places like deserts or the ocean will be a wasteland 7:52 PM - Jogging Bear: do you mind if i use that 7:52 PM - Turtleey: everyone will flock to the tree-inhabited areas 7:52 PM - Turtleey: but when they start cutting down the trees, 7:52 PM - Turtleey: the fog starts closing in 7:53 PM - Jogging Bear: additionally, players from other factions can burn the forests down and make the fog suffocate them 7:53 PM - Jogging Bear: forcing them to either fight back or flee 7:53 PM - Turtleey: that sounds like a real eco-apocalypse battle 7:53 PM - Jogging Bear: and I'm liking it
aight here: in order of events
oh wow i remember this [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] and i remember how hyped i was for it
i wish usbr were still cool and hip and existing
i wish usbr were still cool and hip and existing
:( RIP Brahlingrad. [t]http://i.imgur.com/bavqtQa.jpg[/t] Damn that was a fun couple of months/my favorite gen.

Mr Sun I believe.
guys what if it was me all along jk its not or am i
Hmm, didn't I move the eggs to the Faction Vault one time and they were still stolen?
I once egged goose because I was out of arrows. It was during the ice lord thing.
hey remember when minecraft was fun remember when we camped some sealed base and everyone got pissed so we just hacked our way in because we were using hacks or was that the other server [editline]8th February 2013[/editline] one server where we camped on a bridge for ages and then raided the hell outta it
ur cool
is this server active
is there a server like this that's active? (20-30 players) i've yet to find a server where there is a nice balance of war and the rules are down to earth
Also, I'd like to give my long-delayed input on the whole 'no automated farms' rule: It seemed like a neat idea - who wouldn't want fields and fields of wheat surrounding a walled city? Very lovely idea - but it's completely negated by the speed and plentiful amounts of melons in the game. The seeds might be hard to find, but once you get just one seed, then you can duplicate it into fields and fields of forever-regenerating melons. Wheat, pork, and any other food is completely useless, because it just takes more effort to sow, wait, and harvest the product when you can plant a single melon stem and get dozens of melons after a few hours.

I just came in for one stop and one stop only, how's life? I have never seen you guys forget about me so fast. It's an amazing sight, huh? What's next? Goose shuts down and someone makes a new server somewhere. And have me auto-banned. I would love for that to happen, after all, who is the dumbass? ME! Ha, yes, I'm going to a mental institution tomorrow.

Hey guys, First off, I would like to say thank you to everyone. If it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't have had as many memorable experiences in a multiplayer game as I did with Minecraft. You made our world come alive. We were never a huge server will tons of people, but that's okay. I believe we had one of the best communities and a server filled with rich experiences that a faction server could ever have. I poured my imagination and for a while, my life, into this server. It helped me get through some shitty times. I was able to log in and watch my world, our world, come to life. It made me proud to see my server make people happy. I always wanted this server. Before minecraft even came on the map, I played games like Wurm Online. I loved the concept, but I always wanted more. I wanted immersion, and I wanted the game to feel organic. I wanted everything to be player driven. I lacked the ability to code or do any sort of game design stuff. Minecraft and Bukkit opened that door for me. This started out as just a little operation with nothing more than a few friends and their friends. After discovering the then young and primitive "factions" plugin, things really took off from there. Second of all, I would like to give a very special thank you to those of you who have been here since Gen 1. You put up with all my changes, and I realize it was extremely frustrating constantly trying to adapt to a plugin that you weren't sure was even going to stay on the server. You stuck with it and I am grateful for that. Third, I would like to thank the donors. You helped keep this server running out of the goodness of your own heart with no reward. Without you, this server would have only lasted about 2 or 3 months. You guys kept it going for a year and then some. Thank you so very much. I know I have been grouchy and ornery at times, and for that I am sorry. This server, while very fun, was also a pain in the ass at times too. Finally, the part you all knew was coming; this is the end of Gooses Faction Server. The renewal request is in my inbox, and the server will be shut down in about a week. I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep it going. Sadly, my life is changing constantly, and I find myself busier and busier. I no longer have time to run the server, nor the funds to support it. I hope this server has left a positive impact on all of you. I hope it has in some ways raised the bar, but maybe that's just wishful thinking. You all helped create the worlds we played in and the server itself. I have made many friends because of this server, and I'm sure many of you have as well. Once again, thanks for everything guys, it was really fun.
