There's your problem. See, not everyone who goes down to the generator's a doombringer. You're pretty much useless down there unless you can prevent them from downing the generator in the first place. Techs on the other hand, are pretty much required if you want it to stay alive.

You're either lying or only play heavy.
I've already said I play every class. The only class that can't beat an infiltrator is a pathfinder.
I'm really enjoying this game, oh so much. Is the Steam Starter Pack worth it?
I'm really enjoying this game, oh so much. Is the Steam Starter Pack worth it?
I think it is, you get the Infiltrator and Technician classes as well as a few weapons like the Soldier Spinfusor and 800 Gold.
How hectic can game play get? I really want to see what it looks like with a full server.

First game with new account after old one got "banned for hacking". Apparently I was doing too good and enough people reported me for hacking so I got banned and Hi-Rez doesn't care. In this match there were a couple of people too who tried to votekick me :v:
why did you give them more money after they banned you
because I enjoy the game, and I was gifted the starter pack, haven't spent a single cent.
I bought the starter pack and the Spinfusor with the Thumper is amazing.
Guys I just made the best Tribes gif in the history of everything.
so why is smite getting clan tags and demos before tribes?
Guys I just made the best Tribes gif in the history of everything.
make hulk red
so why is smite getting clan tags and demos before tribes?
They're probably (are going to) pay more attention to SMITE now, since all MOBA's are incredibly popular and print free money. And because it's probably easier or something.
ue3 has demo recording. they make it out to be as if they have to spend day and night coding a demo system from scratch.
We all know Hi-Rez's programmers aren't the best, but lets just hope they can listen and realize they've made a big mistake.
imo it was too early to "release" t:a
Theyre not doing demos anymore in tribes.
yes we know which is why i posted
http://forum.hirezstudios.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=976456&sid=55b135ec9670dd8ffc4eb239e9e2c3aa#p976456
[editline]30th June 2012[/editline] also todd saying there won't be demos is pretty much placing the last nail in the coffin of competitive tribes and the growth of competitive tribes.
No one cares about competitive tribes, it was never going to grow. There's a better chance of Quake returning to the major scene than there is that Tribes grows large. Hi-Rez tried to force it into the scene, anyone with any idea what they're doing could have told you that. They've also put more work into Smite than they have Tribes. Face it, Tribes is a pub game.
i don't know if you're joking or not because competitive tribes is pretty much the reason why hirez isn't just pulling the riot route and releasing new guns and skins for $10 each every 2 weeks and is actually tweaking and hotfixing bugs and gameplay. [editline]30th June 2012[/editline] also what's the point of praising pub play oh mighty chirno when things like this happen? http://www.reddit.com/r/Tribes/comments/vuywc/hirez_banned_me_for_being_better_than_other_people/

and not to mention quake is HUGE what are you talking about "returning to the major scene"??? if you honestly think events like mlg is "major" then you must not see the fact that major events like iem still holds quake as a main game.

The Room is the best movie production in ages and nothing can ever surpass it's quality acting, scene setups and drama!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND, Ladies and gentlemen, here we have it, the apex of ignorance.
He is not wrong (at least 1/4 of the post) Pretty much all the new players don't join for competitive gameplay, they join because Tribes looks fun, is free and is pretty refreshing when you look at, pretty much, any other FPS. Since Hi-rez took the competitive as face for the game in the media, alot of potential players haven't come close to the game. Im not saying competitive gameplay is dumb or useless, Im saying Hi-rez is losing alot of players just because the approach they give to the game. Thats why alot of players don't give a single toss about competitive and they never will.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND, Ladies and gentlemen, here we have it, the apex of ignorance.
let me quote myself here:
he is 12 years old, what you guys expected...
I was shelling the stand on Temple Ruins and I had four people chasing me. I ran towards the flagstand to just demolish everything before I die and I went flying away from an explosion. I turned around and blindly threw a disk and got a blue plate special :v:
you're right, which is why it's up to the community to bring in new competitive players, which is why there was the newbloods tournament and there are reddit pugs that happen every single night.
have you ever thought, you know, people don't want to play super mega ultra competitive? maybe, just maybe, they might just be playing because they want to play a fun game without getting too heavily invested in it and make it a slog??
you're right, which is why it's up to the community to bring in new competitive players, which is why there was the newbloods tournament and there are reddit pugs that happen every single night.
And they do a fair job, but the influx of players isn't as high when the game was in beta because arround that time Hi-rez didn't bring the competitive scene alot (pretty much every ad about tribes was about speed and not skill like they do now). But arround the inf update when the game when official the players count drop alot since alot of "casuals" and normal players don't have interest in the comp gameplay even when tribes is a comp game. This game offer no space for dicking arround and casual gameplay that's why is very hostile for new players.

HiRez have marketed the game as comp orientated and done a half-assed job at approaching it, then a few months after the supposed release they drop half the development team to focus on a MOBA game. There's what, 12 people working on Tribes now (I think) and that's a huge amount of team members to accomplish something if you think about it (Wolfire Games]) That's why people are angry and that's why teams drop out, sure some of the things I personally couldn't give a monkey piss about (Clan tags) but things like the recording system need to be in there in order for them to help the comp scene, not hinder it. It doesn't matter if the public players don't care about the comp scene, but balance changes need to be decided by people that actually know how to play it, not little Timmy that thinks the Brute is overpowered because he walks into fractals every 6 seconds.
I have been using the sawed off shotgun and played a bit of combat thumperician. It's goddamn fun, the shotgun itself is great. enemy is midair during a dogfight, you aim well once, with hitscan, click, dead. [editline]1st July 2012[/editline]
Ahem. The Room is the best movie production in ages and nothing can ever surpass it's quality acting, scene setups and drama!
I laughed my ass off. You won many internets with this.

You are right, Hi-rez is pretty lazy and they deliver a dull job in game balance. The mayor drawback in tribes is how Hi-rez don't do anything they say. Thye balance the game via players advise but they fail to change most of the real problems with the game. Now they drop the tribes for the other two games hoping to gain the player base they lost with Tribes and with that they left weak what is Tribes for the comp scene.
