Thumper + Shotgun technician is helluva LD class imo. explosive primary, 600 - 910 dmg HITSCAN shotgun, 80 per pellet (*8= 640 per shot, *2 = 1280 max) can deploy turrets to either support you mid-fight or defend flag/gen a LD soldier is more effective but it takes much more skill and twitch to do blue plates than to just aim the hitscan shotgun and duckhunt. In other words, thumperician shotguneer was made for me. Forget about repairing tho, it will be turbo slow

I recently upgraded to an i5-3570k processor, a new motherboard, got 8gb of DDR3 ram and a 670GTX. Although my 670GTX was faulty so i still have to use my Radeon HD 5850, i can only run this game on [i]minimal[/i] and still have it playable with the fast-paced nature of the game. I don't know about you but that seems like more than enough to get decent frames on this game even on medium?
Disable v-sync if you haven't done that yet, it acts really weird in this game. I think it's not triple buffered so it halves your fps if it dips under 60 (and causes shitloads of mouse lag).

I'm getting my 670 back next week so i won't have to suffer much longer but i thought it was a little odd that my frames can be so choppy on this game

I have to run it on minimal and i will get around ~40 FPS but as soon as i get in to a fight where there's more than like 3 people it drops down to 15-20 and makes it impossible to try to hit anyone. We'll see how it goes once i get my graphics card but it's horribly annoying at the moment
That does sound really weird, I'm running Q9450 and HD6870 and I can run the game fine on very high. I don't have a FPS counter or anything, but I don't think I ever drop below 30. On a lot of the maps I'm often breaking 60 since I can see the screen tearing sometimes.

I love playing Tech on DMs. I can usually get at least 5 or 6 kills (yes it's probably not much but it is for me, god I love the Rockwind) before I get taken out. Because Tech is a light class (or is it medium, I don't know) I regen health faster than heavies. So usually I end up targeting some of the mass amount of heavies I always see in DMs. I pop them a bit with the Rockwind, and if they get me enough, I retreat, regen, and go back at them again before they can start regenerating. Not to mention how people are always so busy keeping in motion that a well placed turret can go unnoticed for quite a while and accumulate a few kills.

Holy fuck. I just took out the whole enemy team with a orbital strike. I thought I was only getting one or two guys defending their flag. Put it down then sudden the whole of the left side of the screen fills up with "MrDemonic *orbital strike logo* "___" Jesus that felt good.

The assault rifle/thumper combo will probably shine over the tech build simply because the Assault Rifle is strong.
i quite like the pathfinder with the shotgun and that crossbow. i come 1st overall in like 90% of the matches i play (of TDM and CTF) it just does so much damage like 800-900 if you get in a decent hit it's so enjoyable

The same thing happened to me when I first fired up Tribes. All of the arena matches I've played as pathfinder since have been deeply humbling humbling in my butt
This game has quite smooth graphics considering that it's a free2play but there probably going to make it a paid game soon enough because most companies would say "hey we have crap tons of people playing our game, let's make it a paid game so we can ruin all of the fun and force people to pay us money otherwise they can't play....how fun" Hmmmm I think that i'm getting confused with practically every free app on the app store which says IN APP PURCHASES.
