As with any game, there's cheaters - but I think I ran into my first aimbotter the other day. He was terrible at skiing, energy management and anything projectile based - but he never missed a single shot with the snipers/falcon/auto-shotgun. In fact, those are pretty much what he exclusively used. He also had a childish mentality and kept blaming all his deaths on luck shots. When someone else called him out for an aimbot, he exploded and started spamming chat with 1 v 1 challenges and "get skill, noob." Am I correct to assume so, or just being paranoid/buttmad?
Do you know his nick and on what server do you play? Cause i met one guy tonight on Amsterdam server, MadUlk (level 26), he had like 50 kills in the end with sentinel, snipped me while going ~290 sanics one time and bunch of other times while capping the flag...

Sentinels are only suspicious when they start getting headshots at ridiculous angles and distances (such as at an 89 degree angle above themselves at a distance of 4m against a target moving at 400+)
sounds more like he's a good sniper instead of a hacker.
We will never know, but he never missed me, i never saw bullet trail next to me...he always snapped me with first shot... Also, he reached skill ceiling pretty fast (lvl 26 only) *if he isnt cheater

All the aimbotters I found were TCNs or SLDs using the default rifle with 100% accuracy rate at stupidly low ranks.

the sniper is hitscan so it isn't difficult at all to get used to, the trick is learning how the lag compensation effects you also 400+ speed doesn't matter if it's all parallel to your line of fire, which is common if you put yourself in a good place near the flag

I play SEN competitively (entry-level, granted) and I'll tell you now, no matter what you think, we miss a lot more than you think we do.

I used to be a beast fucking sniper in pretty much every game, took a break and now it just seems like I'm shit in tribes, wondering if it's just something I'm thinking because I miss sometimes. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] Which sniper rifle should I even be using?
I just bought T2 Hero and Psycho. This game just got 100% more fun
I just bought T2 Hero and Psycho. This game just got 100% more fun
Psychobros, best voice ever.
T2 voices are the sound of my childhood
thank god there are private central servers now, pugs are bearable now and i can't wait to start scrimming on them.
Can you still remove fog via config? forgot what the variable was.
Holy shit David Hayter is a voice in this game?! All my jizz
base turrets ruin pubs
Ohgod I lol'd. I was shitting around with explosive nitrons getting used to them, miss the flagstand on katabatic, jetpack up, casually llama the flag, then explosive nitron directly to 200 sanics from a standstill

[editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] Which sniper rifle should I even be using?
I've no recent videos. I used to livestream, which also saved recordings, but I had to stop because XSplit decided to stop working and I couldn't handle the framerate drop. Sorry. I might have an oppurtunity to on my other computer sometime in the near future, since it has since been upgraded. As for sniper rifle to be using, as it stands currently you want to use the Phase Rifle + Energy Pack + Rage. With the recent buff to Rage's radius, it absolutely dominates, and even without Rage activation the Phase Rifle has a significantly higher perceived damage output. Not to say the BXT is bad -- some people still use it effectively, but back to back BXT shots can really only do 500, ~75, ~75, whereas Phase can do 510, ~300, ~120, ~120... without Rage, and 510, ~400, ~300, ~300... with Rage. Plus, the Phase Rifle allows you to stay unscoped more without penalty, so you have a wider field of vision to spot cappers.
Can you still remove fog via config? forgot what the variable was.
Nope. Fog helps to keep snipers in check (even though they're still out of control), so it can't be modified at all.
You might want to try dxtory for recording, sadly can't livestream with it though.
You might want to try dxtory for recording, sadly can't livestream with it though.
That's what I use, and it does work for livestreaming, you just have to set it up right. I'm pretty sure there's guides on it, I can't find them right now though because I'm leaving -- but, it works, at least with XSplit. I blame Hi-Rez' optimization, or lack thereof.
Psychobros, best voice ever.
I've got your number! I've got all your numbers!!!
Bwahahahaha! Humans taste like fish.
Can you still remove fog via config? forgot what the variable was.
Used to be able to, but they fucked that up a while ago sadly... It was the only thing that gave me decent FPS aside from lights, even if it made players harder to see from far away...
i'll start streaming again once i get my new router installed and a paid version of xsplit (ffsplit eats up bandwidth and pixelates) (also paid version of xsplit will never happen LoL)
i'll start streaming again once i get my new router installed and a paid version of xsplit (ffsplit eats up bandwidth and pixelates) (also paid version of xsplit will never happen LoL)
There's a single function you need to modify to return true every time in Xsplit.Core.exe to unlock the free version.
12 gold for a sticky brute 'nade? Don't mind if i do!
Is there anyway to back up Tribes Ascend without having to download Steam? Edit: - 1. Install the patcher. - 2. Stop the service when it tries to install a game by opening task manager and killing the process. "HiPatchsomething") - 3. Copy the Program Files/Hi-Rez directory from the old PC to new PC. The patcher should recognize that the games are there and do whatever it needs to do from there. I hope this works.
Using the deployable repair kits as vehicle docking stations works better than I imagined. Huddle all three/four together to repair a beowulf up to full in like 2 seconds or scatter them around the terrain making them harder to spot and destroy, allowing you to scoot around and heal all over the place. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] One time I sat there next to 3 of them and let a pathfinder shoot me over and over with the bolt launcher and I would heal faster than he could reload. I just kept shooting down at the flag area. Took him a while to figure it out.
