Did this game get any better over the last couple months? I stopped playing cause this game got really really repetitive

Tech thumper erryday. Kills any intruder dead, and makes heavies a breeze. Just hope and pray you have enough energy to dodge. Basically soldier's spinfusor (does same damage), but with arc.

Throwing discs? HA! I have only been hit once by those, and it failed to kill me. I proceeded to kill him with my thumper immediately afterwards. X1? I'm a very introverted tech. Last time I went outside as tech was like a month ago, so the X1 really doesn't bother me. Any smart juggernaut would bring his spinfusor to attack the generator, not an X1.

Its been more or less abandoned by most of the developers for Smite. Hi-Rez has a very small 2-team development studio. The same thing happened with Global Agenda, which is practically dead at this point.

Couple days late. Dunno why they are doing Smite. Why would you compete against LoL or DotA 2? Just make a fun fast PVP game.

I just tested it on my integrated HD4000 for shits and giggles. 1920x1200 @ minimum settings was unplayable. Drop the resolution down to 1280x720 and you'll get 30+ fps most of the time. If you also turn off dynamic lighting in tribes.ini file, you'll be running pretty smoothly. I didn't test any ultra low custom configs, but you might even be able to get a steady 60fps with them.
Eagle pistol and assault rifle. Lets see how many kills i get.
Is anybody else having trouble with installing Tribes through Steam?
I isntalled Tribes, the launcher updated about 1GB of things I'm not sure of, and steam installed it again.
Now it goes to validate, and it can't connect to it's server, while the news says the servers are up.

Steam can cause your net to drop out when playing some games I have found (mainly mmos/games with 'launchers'), especially on start up which can cause the system to not validate or connect to authentication servers.
Try to launch the game with friends turned off which may let it boot without causing network disruptions. You can also try to add "-steam" to the advanced launch options or create a shortcut of the game exe with "-steam" at the end of the target which might let it validate/update properly.
If these fail, just download the client from Tribes Ascend website: [url]https://account.hirezstudios.com/tribesascend/[/url]

Steam version is fucked, I believe downloading it through Steam will give you some old version which can be updated with the HiRez launcher/update tool, BUT sometimes Steam will just decide that you don't have the correct files installed, and proceed to wipe your up to date version and replace it with the old one that it still distributes.
Stay away from the Steam version, just get the one directly from HiRez, then add the -steam command line option under settings in the launcher.

Ok. I was wondering how to make the hirez download work with steam, since I know that the steam version is bugged.
I have a question and I cant find the answer for the life of me. In the badgertank's accelerate update videos, the viewmodel for the dueling spinfusor seemed longer. I mean that I could even see the base of the stock on the viewmodel. Look at the video and compare with a picture what you see normally:

I believe it is a combination of FOV and smaller weapon y/n. Try to mess around with these two options a bit. Try to set FOV to 120 and enable smaller weapon models.

I normally play at 120 with small viewmodels.
Well the FOV setting doesn't seem to change the size of the weapon on screen at all, and judging by the video he's not actually playing at 16:9 resolution, it looks like a 4:3 aspect ratio stretched to fit the youtube player. So the logical thing to do is change the aspect ratio, and that definitely works. If you're using a narrower resolution, the horizontal FOV stays the same, meaning that vertical FOV has to increase in order to maintain the correct proportions. Even at 16:10 you see a lot more of the weapon than at 16:9, at 4:3 or even 5:4 you see even more.
There's a menu option titled "small viewmodels"

I had that issue too. I ran the diagnostic utility in the hirez folder in program files and then closed it. The installer then gave the option to install tribes after that. Hope it works.

The tribes ascend steam version is broke. Just remove it and re-download the one from the hi-rez website.
Did they change how the meters skied stat is recorded? I can only get a max of 2km skied now as pathfinder while doing routes and in beta I got 200km skied easy while playing ranger.
