Raiders are typically pretty damn slow, Soldiers are never used on offense in NA comp. The only way to get a respectable amount of speed is to explosive jump repeatedly. It's nothing compared to t2 where you can go 160 kph off your jetpack alone and anyone can do a 150+ kph disc jump then immediately use a health kit. That shit is really fun.

Mk 4 base turrets killed the game.

Here I am NJ5ing some crappy turdburglars in a pub when a technician walks up to the turret with a lot of credits and stuff and makes it mk4. Suddenly it takes a few years to kill it and can be repaired in 1/15th of that time, and nothing in the Raider's arsenal can damage it faster than a TCN can repair it.

Once people discovered they could do that people stopped playing offense in pubs and pub matches became ridiculously bad. That is what killed Tribe.

Yeah game is far from dead. Maybe a little less consistently populated in the pubs than it used to be but I don't have trouble finding a game. Introduction of server browser is nice, but I'm kind of annoyed that they separate their official servers by large maps, small maps, and all maps. They should all just do all maps, because there aren't really enough maps to justify that sort of separation. So it's just a little annoying on occasion when everybody playing on my region's servers are all piled into one of the two large or small maps, so I have to choose which 4 or so maps I want to cycle through over and over again. And for some horrible reason a 24/7 Stonehenge server is constantly at maximum population.

It's pretty hard to get a custom server populated.

I tried to make a server called Uncle Altimor's Hetero Zone with homo base turrets and strikes removed but it was shot down due to being politically incorrect.

Been a long time since I played this game, I think since the Stayin' Alive update, how's it faring? I've heard that Smite pretty much fucked it over.

It's not dying it's just steadying on a secure ~2000 players, at least for now, the game hasn't changed much but there's a few new weapons and a server browser.
