energy shield is way better than jammer
Jammer uses less energy per second, camouflages you brilliantly, makes turrets ignore you completely, and sometimes even tricks people into thinking you're dead because they lose sight of your IFF icon.
Sheild absorbs a little bit more damage.
It's not always better.
it "brilliantly" makes you slightly less visible because you don't have a big red marker over your head

it doesn't help you what so ever if an enemy sees you, you don't become any less visible by having a tv static as texture
anyone who has played the game long enough to know what the jammer is will be aware of you as soon as you show yourself

Best thing about jammer is that it makes infiltrators useless

yes but players indoor wont know if u coming until they see you. when u dont have jammer someone in generator for example will know from what entrance you coming and prepare to give you a thumper direct hit in ur face, and someone outside the base knows there is someone inside the base. yea sure someone can just press alt and point where u are, yet a player in generator wont know from what entrance you coming, even better when there is teamates near u.

The jammer is made to disrrupt the HoF since they use the radar and turrents to detect any incoming enemy add whiteouts and you have a good dead HoF.

i wish they add some indicator when the enemy is blind, when i first played with whiteouts i had egocentric maxed, i had no idea what was it range of effect, when i used it i didnt know if the enemy was blind or not(and still dont know, except when i am not with egocentric and i blind myself too).

The best indicator is when they stand still and spam like crazy all over the place or when they fly without shooting :v:
Huh, i found an interesting bug. If you choose a team, spawn, then spectate, and try to join a team you can't join, close the team select window and click, you spawn as someone on neither team, wearing the armor of the team you tried to join. You can damage and be damaged by anyone, and turrets will attack you. It doesn't work in ctf though, and I haven't tried it in arena.
Hah just tried it, funniest shit ever.

One thing people don't realize about the shield pack is that it's damn good at resisting sniper fire. If the enemy team has a lot of snipers, raiders are the counter to them. Follow the flag carrier and pick up the flag when they get sniped.
This is especially powerful when you get a shrike and grab the flag yourself with a shrike boost. A raider with a shield pack going 275 sanics is unstoppable.

but i'm not coming to the generator room because that is not where i am going when i clear flagstands
[editline]6th May 2012[/editline]
if i wanted to go to the generator room i would spawn as infiltrator
Why nobody post this one from the Lmao pics:

I find jammer to be more useful in the long run than a shield pack. Both are good, I just find that the jammer lets you avoid damage, as opposed to just absorbing more at the cost of mobility.
also jammer is way lighter on energy, so you can still be mobile with it
just because you use the shield doesn't mean you have to jump in to every enemy you see
Let's ignore this and watch CSN's round 3 with Tao vs A51, Tao are winning 1-0.

I spent my hard earned Shazbucks on Whiteout grenades. Nothing like watching a Pathfinder lodge himself in a wall like he's boarding a train to Hogwarts.
what is this kindergarten?
no need to be an asshole
you're almost as bad as Chirno
So the Infiltrator can have up to 4 sticky grenades at once? This pleases me.

5 maximum actually
My favourite bit about the jammer pack is that it makes the best duelling class in the game effectively useless at duelling and just all round bad because they die in 3 hits or less by every other class
wow fuck you hirez
I got a gold badge in a match and then I left
no xp at all. fantastic.
My favourite bit about the jammer pack is it makes you invisible to people who aim for the little icons above you, allows you to move inside the enemy base without letting them know you're there, stops turrets and base turrets targeting you and removes the cloak from infiltrators.
And you don't die in three shots if you kill fast enough, survivalist is why I use the jammer rather than the energy consuming shield.
Grenades and fusion mortars are still a problem though.
Then again, I have maxed out my raider and since it is my primary class I'm very good at it.

If you fell raider useless in duels without shield,i think you have alot to improve on ur duel skills
If you are dueling as raider then you are playing the class wrong, your job is to make things easier for the capper. Pop in, throw some nades at the flagstand then blow up the gen to keep the doomby force fields down. I've found that the jammer pack allows you to do this alot easier because it keeps you unseen.

please kill me it hurts to live
and it still stutters
Is it possible to get shazbucks back if you buy a pack even though you already own one of the weapons in the pack?
Is it possible to get shazbucks back if you buy a pack even though you already own one of the weapons in the pack?
No, that would be the non-Jewish thing to do.
Well since they've been so kind as to return XP when patches lower costs on stuff I figured they might be kind in this too, tho it's a bit wishful thinking.
Got 70k exp. What should I buy when I get to 100?
I tried to play sen today, never having any success. But something just clicked today. The sniper isn't necessarily about hitting things at long range, it's just about precision shooting. Once that mindset fell into place I found myself hitting a lot more stuff and getting a lot of kills, yay.
