Good thing I didn't upgrade my shit much, this will be awesome.
[t]http://i.minus.com/ij5jNTUFflcWV.png[/t]
Well, I definitively have a favorite class.
Also, does the facebook thing still exist or is it too late to make an account there?
The FB thing still works, but you only get one code use per account. Can't use two FB codes to get 500gold.
Also I used to have Tech as my fav because it was the only class I could be while being useful for my team since my fps was like 7. Heal turrets basically.
Which reminds me the Nova Blaster won't be nerfed so it may be even more fun to use now.
Great.
Can't wait for them to nerf the X1!
Fucking half doombringers with mortars and spinfusor discs.
That's... certainly interesting.
Still feels awkward for those that paid a lot of XP toward upgrades, and now have them completely lost.
What? Did you even read it?

I don't have any one class over 25%, I'm pretty balanced.
What? Did you even read it?
It still means you lost XP points if you paid them to get the upgrades, depending on how long it is to upgrade a certain item.
If you were to join the game after this update, you'd have an easier time to unlock the weapons and items that cost over 50 000 XP because you wouldn't have to shell out 25 000 to upgrade an armor to master, per se.

well, that was different
wasted 30k exp just to master some perks
I saw a similar thing once on the Temple map.
both flags were contested and the enemy flag carrier was on top of the Shrike where no one could hit him (unless there was another shrike ofc), i couldn't hit them with neither the chaingun nor target him with the saber launcher.
Don't know if the flight ceiling on that map is extremely high or if they lowered it already.
I wanted to update you on a couple important changes coming in the next patch to Tribes (tentatively planned for next week), as the changes might impact how you choose to spend your XP between now and the upgrade date.
There are a number of things in the next patch, including our largest to date re-balancing of the weapons (driven based on feedback directly taken from a council of competitive players). We will also be introducing a large number of new weapons, which are essentially variants of existing weapons, giving people more options to find weapons that fit their exact preferred playstyle. And there are a couple new maps.
Perhaps the biggest change, especially for newer players, is that we are introducing new ways to improve and speed player advancement (based on feedback from the community).
With the next patch, you will no longer spend XP on weapon and armor upgrades. Each weapon, pack, perk, and armor class will progress automatically towards their upgrades as you play with them equipped.
This is greatly to your advantage, as you can simultaneously progress many items in your loadout (up to 7), and save all of the XP you earn for unlocks such as new weapons and new perks. In general this will significantly increase how quickly you earn unlocks in the game.
Think of it as each item having their own little progression bar, and as you play it fills up and gives you free unlocks, until you master a weapon. The progression on weapons is based on your ending match XP (think of it as duplicating that value to each weapon), so it is increased by performance, boosting, first win of the day, and badge earning.
Some important things to consider:
Any upgrades you have purchased prior to the upgrade will remain purchased.
When the patch is live, you will no longer be able to acquire upgrades with saved XP, and your progression on your next weapon upgrades will start from the beginning for that particular upgrade.
If there are upgrades you wish to have immediately unlocked, it's recommended you purchase them now. Otherwise, you will have to start progression toward your next unlock from the starting point for that unlock. Keep in mind, though, that you may wish to save all of your XP now with the knowledge that future unlocks will happen automatically on the weapons you wish to play with.
We are excited about this change and are excited to hear your feedback and concerns.
Thanks, Stew

So if you currently have upgrades they won't reset when the patch comes out?
from what i understood, if you dont have a mastered upgrade you will lose your upgrades.
and your progression on your next weapon upgrades will start from the beginning for that particular upgrade
this means that if you have level 2 on say the assault rifle, that's where your progression starts.
it doesn't reset at all.

I participated in one of those on both Katabatic and the weird-ass new jungle map without even organizing it.
One of our shrike drivers actually responded to VNR and came to pick me up both times.
I assume it'll take longer to "earn" the upgrade now than to just get the 2k XP or whatever.
Sounds like a bad change, honestly.
But multiple unlocks are progressing at once though.
Do you have to actually use the items or just play the class with them equipped?
I think you just need them equipped, otherwise you wouldn't be able to unlock any upgrades for armor, perks and some of the packs

I wasn't talking about that but you give me an idea with your comment.
Not sure if it could work but at least would be a nice little touch.
so my team posted a thread on /r/tribes looking for somebody to make a team logo for us and these are the current submissions.

we have a winner
I just play CTF until the server community chooses to turn Tribes from a fun jetpack gotta go fast FPS into a turtle PVE match and I just quit.
It's funny because sometimes my Tribes sessions last 30 minutes and other times they last 3 hours.
i really like this submission. includes both a banner and a square icon.

for me that happens later in the evening
as in around 7-8pm people are cool and its generally fun as hell but for some reason later on around 10-11pm all the asshats start crawling out from somewhere and it becomes shit central (turtle flag, constant long range mortar spam, brute spammers, idiots)

there's certain people I see time and time again who always strive to reach the top of the scoreboard so they can wave their e-peen when really they are doing NOTHING USEFUL AT ALL
Aw yeah
Went into a CaH game and played until I got a shrike, but I accidentally hit alt+tab while in the middle of the map and everybody jumped onto my shrike
It was awesome
