Almost got 18K XP.
What should I do?
1.Get one of the following:
>Extended fractal
>Rage (Would be lovley on tech or one of my chasers)
>Dust devil
>Quick draw
>Sparrow(Already have mechanic to cover for the lost repair tool)
2.Save it
get sawed off if you're getting a tech secondary
dust devil doesn't seem very good, its like 100 less direct damage for a really slight radius increase

Quick-draw on a class with two explosive weapons (soldier's spinfusor and either thumper) is serious lethal business.

Extended fractal if you enjoy disco spamming. Only -20 damage and last significantly longer.
Would love to spend money on this game, I like the game too, but I don't know how long the community will last for.

it's not shrinking anytime soon mate
I've never found teamstacking to be a problem. Rank means little to nothing on how skilled you are.
Then why do level 40s always top the scoreboard when they're in a game full of level 20s?
Then why do level 40s always top the scoreboard when they're in a game full of level 20s?
because they're good? i've topped the scoreboard in pub and competitive games despite being silver.

install GA and play for a bit, then decide if you should trust hirez with your money
I hate it when people say rank means nothing. Yes it fucking does. More skillful players WILL make more exp despite the round-length exp multiplier. They also have higher chances of having VIP account which means more exp. A higher rank player has obviously been playing longer and thus probably has had or owns a booster too.
Rank is based exclusively on "Base EXP", which is based exclusively on time, so not really
The rest of the EXP you get (Bonus, Booster, VIP) does not affect rank at all
That being said, and I'm sorry to generalize, but I have noticed a definite difference between, say, rank 15s and rank 30s. I think it just has to do with dedication; because rank is based on time played, and skill is generally based on dedication, those who are more dedicated will play longer and thus reach a higher rank.

So that explains why im rank 34?
wasn't rank xp affected by vip & boost in early beta?

GA is great what are you talking about fool.
[sp]Well, except for the fact it's died because they're working on Tribes :c[/sp]
Got Tribal warrior IV today, at rank 27.
10'000 kills :v:
What class would you guys recommend for a new player?
hof

heavy on flag aka doombringer.
What class would you guys recommend for a new player?
Soldier.
What class would you guys recommend for a new player?
Brute and Raider.
Brute is simple and pretty fun to play and Raider is a dragon dildo for the enemy defense.
don't listen to any of these people, just play doombringer. it'll teach you how to chain, the importance of the flag, spotting, etc.
soldier: this is an okay starting class, but it's more for arena/tdm than it is for pub ctf.
raider: you need to know how to chain, when to hit the flag stand, positioning, etc.
brute: not as fun as a beginner considering you're just a walking punching bag.
But... playing DMB as your first class will just make you hate the game.
I know when I play DMB I sure do hate the game.
Pathfinder, Soldier, Juggernaut, and Brute are good classes for beginners. Straightforward and multi-role.
Play pathfinder chase. Gives you the opportunity to learn to go fast/ski correctly while also learning most flag routes.

The only thing there is to hate about the DMB is the useless secondary and being fat. Everything else is very good learning experience. You learn that defense, spotting and positioning is very important to winning, plus you get an awesome chaingun that shits out damage and a weapon that beeps at people!

New players aren't going to have the experience required to unlock everything that will make chasing possible. They're more likely to have enough to unlock a class.
you don't even need to know flag routes, if you're gonna be playing chase just know
front to back
back to front
right to left
left to right
high to low
and i mean that in a literal sense.

I kinda suck at chasing. What do these mean ?
these are the directions cappers will be headed to you from. stand on the flag and face towards the enemy base, then look at what i wrote and start looking towards, behind, to the right of, and to the left of the flag and you get a general sense of what hills/areas cappers will come from.
[editline]17th June 2012[/editline]
and high to low means what it means, from up high into a curve downwards and gaining momentum.
[editline]17th June 2012[/editline]
i'll stream some typical common paths (or at least the general sense of it) later on tonight after i play my newbloods match and upload it to youtube.
As it turns out, the hardest part about getting a Beowulf ontop of a Shrike is not the act of doing so, but defending the people doing it while the entire server tries to stop you.

doombringers are so gay
[editline]17th June 2012[/editline]
it's definitely not because I can't fly shrikes

Isn't that what we made the FP server for?
