I'd imagine it's for the diehard Killing Floor fans, who have invested a huge amount of hours in the game and play it every day. If you're not bothered about them, you don't have to buy it. But it's likely it'll be reduced a little bit in the Steam Winter sale, and fully during the next Summer one!

that'd be nice but I have to use the store in game, and the golden weapons come up with a fat "DLC" tag on them unless I buy it. It's basically begging for money.

it slows down zeds and makes them take increased damage. So as a medic it'd be useful for saving teammates, and as support you could slow them down and hit them with the hunting shotgun to wreck their shit.
It's a huge combo gun.

It should have been ATLEAST the best/highest teir weapon for every class. It only gives 4 weapons for 4 out of 7 classes. It's encouraging players to use the shittier weapons because they're "ooh shiny shiny" and they're going to want to flash it around to show they have a big e-peen. It's extremely halfassed of Tripwire to do this. It seems more like a small project they started, and was like "Well, we only got 4 weapons done. Oh well, slap an $8 price tag on it and call it good lol"
The ROBOT on the otherhand, is well done. The player model is interesting, the voice lines are amusing, however the hands and arms are disappointingly low def reskins, but it's forgiveable/ignorable for the other qualities of the D.A.R. skin.

uhm no it was the 4 weapons that were best fitting and already didn't have community reskins.
I can't really see a gold SCAR/FAL or a gold M32 since those weapons have large amounts of wood and polymer.

MP5M, hunting shotgun, hand cannons, L.A.R., M99 AMR, FNFAL, MKb, Claymore, MAC-10, and Trenchgun could've easily been reskinned. They're all popular and useful weapons yet Tripwire didn't touch them.

MP5M, MAC-10, MKb, Trenchgun, Hunting Shotgun are all the same tier.
it wouldn't really fit FNFAL or M99 AMR.
handcannon and LAR have community reskins.
Claymore is already partially gold but I agree with that one.
and all of the weapons are hardly "shitty" all are useful on the highest difficulties.

The concept is neat, and I like the inclusion of the tinny sound effects, but the voice really could have been more clear for some of the more important voice lines.
there's a bug with D.A.R. skin, it doesn't save. If you chose it and reset killing floor you get set to Cpl. Lewis.
