It's always bittersweet when the Christmas event ends.
I feel like the only person who hates event zeds. As if the hitboxes weren't bad enough.
lolwat I've never had a problem popping heads off of zeds, event or not.
I think I've only had trouble with the Nutcrackers and the Steam Husk.
The hitboxes do go to shit, it's a problem that every one is aware of they just learn to deal with it so it does not become a problem. Does that mean the hitboxes are fine? no they are fucking terrible. Going for headshots on an enemy going up or down, in the air, on fire, stunned, strafing, standing behind something or someone can be a massive pain in the arse, same thing goes for heal darts. Throw in event models that don't line up perfectly with the hitboxes and i can totally understand why people have difficulty getting headshots. If you play on a server you host or only play SP then you'll never really have a problem, but MP is plagued by it.
lolwat I've never had a problem popping heads off of zeds, event or not.
Summer event (freak circus) Husk. They are pretty annoying to land a headshot.
I really like the moment when a specimen fights another one of the zeds instead of me or someone else [t]http://i.imgur.com/W1sX5.jpg[/t]
I really like the moment when a specimen fights another one of the zeds instead of me or someone else [t]http://i.imgur.com/W1sX5.jpg[/t]
I also remember seeing a Patriarch striking at a clot once. What a dysfunctional family this is.
I always like it when games have infighting. I always love that when I play Quake and I kind of miss that so many games could have that but don't anymore.
The most common fights I see are Fleshpounds and Bloats. It's always funny, the way the Fleshpounds attack, it looks like they're trying to shove the Bloats backwards.
The most common fights I see are Fleshpounds and Bloats. It's always funny, the way the Fleshpounds attack, it looks like they're trying to shove the Bloats backwards.
Never as funny as seeing a Clot kill the Patriarch.
My favorite example of enemies fighting each other are the Grunts in the Halo series when one throws a grenade and sticks the one right in front of him and everything/body runs in a different direction and guns start going off when they're dropped and even more grenades start flying everywhere. Elites diving everywhere and even more grunts ragdolling over props and boxes flailing plasma pistols and firing at random. Oh god the AI in the early games was hilarious. Killing Floor fights are just like slap fights.
Are there any tactics I should know for each class?
I just hit Sharpshooter level 5 few days ago. And the EBR kicks ass.
Are there any tactics I should know for each class?
Well, the two most important skills for any perk seem to be prioritization of zeds and the ability to kite. By prioritization I mean if you have a sharpshooter/berserker on your team, and you're say, a firebug with a flamethrower, don't waste two canisters of fuel trying to kill a scrake when other team members can kill the damn thing with a few axe swipes or a single shot from an xbow. The inverse is also true. If you're a support and you see a single crawler, don't fire your AA12 at it eight times because you just HATE THOSE FUCKERS SO MUCH. Let the commando handle it. Or even better, take out your 9mm. It isn't a competition to see who has the most kills, let your teammates do their job. Kiting correctly is difficult to learn, and is probably best learned with a zerker. Try a relatively open map like hilbilly horror and just run around like a maniac killing things left and right. Staying still will be the death of you. Carry a lever action in the beginning, upgrade to two handcannons later on for crawler murdering. They are your most fearsome enemy. Also you're gonna need to get good at dodging husk cannons. The best way I've found is to go in one direction, and as soon as they fire, go in the other direction and jump. You'll still probably take damage but it's way less than a direct shot.
Are there any tactics I should know for each class?
Read the Killing floor forums, there's numerous threads with tips, tricks and tactics for each class and how to get the best out of them. http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/forumdisplay.php?f=53
The problem with wanting to kite is that most people suck at it and just stay still and every single time I just know we're going to get swarmed because we can't possibly deal with them fast enough. But I can't go kiting by myself either because I know I'll die solo when I get cornered in both directions in a narrow corridor.
Carry a lever action in the beginning, upgrade to two handcannons later on
Somehow I fail to see how this is an upgrade :v:
Two handcannons. Massive non perk recoil. HMMMMMM. I'd rather just use one M9.
Somehow I fail to see how this is an upgrade :v:
Dual HC's are only useful with a zerker, and they're to use against crawlers. Handcannons kill them in one shot, as does the lever action. The handcannons have a faster reload than the lever action and having two of them means more crawler decimation. M9's don't 1 hit kill crawlers (at least not on the higher difficulties). A decent alternative to crawler murdering is the m79, but that carries its own fair share of problems. Can't use it up close effectively, and it weighs more. The recoil isn't that bad, honestly. After all, you're just aiming at any spot on a crawler. It's not a precision weapon.
Oh my holy figure, the mac10 with firebug. I used to never like firebug because it was pretty much trash-clearing only, but with the mac10, it seems like everything dies, as long as you have it on semi-automatic..
And what's stopping you double clicking the mouse? And if you say you're surrounded and dual HCs are a good panic weapon, my response is that you should never have gotten surrounded. /killing floor elitism
I completed a long Bedlam on HoE with a few people and it unlocked the "Squirrel King of the Dark Forest" achievement for me. I'm slightly confused right now. If anybody is privy as to why this happened could they explain it to me.
I dont know if ive posted this story before, but back when poundamonium was whitelisted, my whole team died almost immediately on the first round, and through the magic of kiting and the trusty ol' 9mm pistol i managed to make everything go dead. I felt so awesome facing off against a countless number of fleshpounds on kf_office. I barely made it out of the rooftops alive. It was that day i learned that the rooftop, though a seemingly good area because it has 2 exits, is actually a deathtrap. Moral of the story: Kiting saves your life, kids! Also, the rooftop on kf_office is evil.
Cool story, but what kills Fleshpounds best is six berserkers.
;39288110']Cool story, but what kills Fleshpounds best is six berserkers.
Nah, you just need to use a right gun. Then use more gun!
.... 2 M99 shots. It doesn't matter.
Is there a weapon guide out there? I came back to this after not playing for months, and I have no idea what weapons to use over the old ones.
Is there a weapon guide out there?
