I wish they'd made story mode a thing. For some reason horror themes just work really well on UE2/2.5
Crossbow is a great off-perk weapon for a Medic or Berserker. Only 800, packs a hell of a punch regardless and is great for providing support on big things. Or Berserker + Crossbow to be the only class surviving solo against the Patriarch and still doing pretty well.
Don't use shotguns unless you're playing support, shotguns are probably the worst offperk weapons in the game since they can't penetrate enemies if you don't play Support; try using a M79, a LaR, or a crossbow instead.
I only pull out my hunting shotgun to do damage to aggro'd FPs/Scrakes most of the time, or the odd group of gorefasts charging a bro. I'll try the crossbow a bit more I guess. Also worst off perk weapon is mac10.
what happend to the "praise the medic with the SCAR" ? but the best off-perk weapon for any perk by far, is the pipebomb.
SCAR recoils like a motherfucker Pipes are expensive as hell
I personally as a medic use the AK47 or the M4, the M4 off perk is good on semi otherwise its terrible. But it really depends what perk I want to level up at the same time as leveling up medic e.g shotgun.
I remember when I used to play level 5/6 medic. My loadout would be something like MP7 (this is before MP5 came out), then usually a katana, M79 and when I could afford it, I'd sell the M79 and get an M23 (or whatever the six barrel is called). Soloing Patriarch was a pinch until I ran out of ammo, but with decent move speed it's usually not hard to find some. [editline]28th March 2012[/editline] I pretty much played Berserker medic though, because my Berserk perk was low and it meant I could heal myself and others a lot and having good armour made up for not having the Berserkers damage resistance.
It's actually kind of fun playing with both of my friends who are each constantly dying even on beginner. I constantly end up saving them and my Medic is leveling up so fucking fast because of all the healing.
I'm a level 5 medic (nearing level 6, 25,000 to go!) Me and my mates are playing hard at the moment, we've won about 2 or 3 rounds on hard, mostly because certain people aren't pulling their weight or aren't high enough rank. I don't fully blame them though, I want to know if there's anything more I can do as medic to help my team? My current tactics: Buy order: MP7K->MP5K->Shotgun->Hunting shotgun (situational)->AA-12 (when affordable, on round 10 if I'm lucky) I focus on healing, try and keep trash off my sharpshooters and demolitions, I use pistol vs trash, shotgun against husks/sirens, and I use shotguns in a pinch against scrakes/FPs (I only shoot them if they're already aggroed, our sharpshooter usually deals with scrakes, and our team usually works together to kill FPs) I tank FPs with my ridiculous armor when they aggro, but I can only usually do that once or twice a round. I use grenades against FPs and try my best to lead the squad out of danger zones (the primary way I do this is rushing forward, this gives my squad impetus to keep up with me or they lose heals. Obviously if they're in trouble I come back, but I try to keep us moving where possible) I obviously get as many heals as I can, I usually switch to my needle in clusterfuck situations to guarantee I heal SOMETHING. But yeah we just continually die, usually on the patriarch. What's a good strategy for dealing with him?
Killing patty, eh? There's a few ways to kill him reliably on higher diffs, and which one you choose depends on your stance on abusing glitches in video games. 1. Hunting Shotgun glitch. Empty out every single shell in the hunting shotgun, but fire the last two shells single-fire. Then refill your hunting shotgun. Take it out and keep pressing m1. You now have a semi-auto hunting shotgun with a clip size of 60. Switch to a different weapon if you have nothing to shoot, because if it completes the reloading animation, or you fire both barrels at once, it ends the glitch. You can solo the patriarch on HoE with this (I know because I've done it before). 2. Have everyone switch to zerker with chainsaws. When patty comes, everyone surround him and use altfire on his head. The point of this is to make it so that he can't run away, and gets stunlocked. If surrounded successfully, he will only manage to kill 1-2 of you before he ends up dying. 3. Everyone go demo and spam pipes everywhere. Then 6x LAW + nades everywhar = patriarch gets an all-expenses paid trip to the moon. 4. 6x support with combat shotgun and AA12 seems to work pretty well. I've heard 6x commando works as well, but I'd imagine the DPS isn't as impressive. 5. Kiting. Having extra speed helps immensely. This is the hardest to do, since patriarch can at any point decide to cloak and smack you. Here's how to do it like a boss
I'd love a Killing Floor 2. What is Tripwire working on anyway? They might do it after their current project.
I'd love a Killing Floor 2. What is Tripwire working on anyway? They might do it after their current project.
Red Orchestra 2. As far as I know only one of their team of twenty something does the programming for Killing floor.
KF 2 is an Episode 3/ Duke Nukem job, it's a tough nut to crack without breaking what made the game great.
Anybody who wants to play killing floor with me, please? [sup](I really, really, reeeaaaallllyyyy suck at it though :v:)[/sup]
KF 2 is an Episode 3/ Duke Nukem job, it's a tough nut to crack without breaking what made the game great.
Actaully, it's not like Killing Floor is too great technically. The Co-op aspect is just really well done, which would be easy to repeat. So basically, a newer engine, nicer graphics, a lot of new guns and maps (though they might as well come on update basis), maybe throw in a new gamemode. New kinds of specimen and a few new features generally.
It would be good have a "Story" mode, like we can see on those custom maps, telling us the story of Killing Floor (with objectives like "help to evacuate X civilians of this sector" or "reach the deep part of the laboratory and switch off the incubator machine). It would be a good excuse for continue making maps themed on the story line (the 4 latest new maps have any/little connection with the story). Well, finally, after a month full of work and study, i was able to play again KF. And in one of the games i saw this tactic in Departed: Even the Patriarch is not able to harm you, lol. Also, i had a hard moment. I entered on a french server with LV6 people. They then suddenly started trolling and acting like noobs without any reason, blocking our path, not healing or helping fight the zeds, until we become killed except they. And when we survived until the 10/10 round, once the round starts, they leaved the server, leaving me and another player against more of 250 zeds. We have been able to survive and kill the Patriarch alone, Co-op wins :eng101:

So i kinda want to get some achievements and i'm looking for some people to play with, i was thinking anyone here that's level 6 and is interested could join up and we could play 7-10 maps per week doing every map from hard to suicidal. I'm in europe and also have a mumble server we can use for VoiP
eh, I don't think a KF2 wouldn't be that hard to make. Just a few new perks, guns, zombies, voice actors, a bit of new GUI, and more dosh.
There will be no Killing Floor 2 without hilarious British accents.
To be honest I'd want Killing Floor 2 to be more serious if anything. No more hilarious zeds, silly melee weapons like a claymore, toning down on the accents. Something a bit more ~~dark and gritty~~ than the original.

And some other game modes. Some more inventive ways to barricade, more terrifying zeds.

KF has always been about serious action with a goofy side-off, removing that removes KF's charm. Campaign would be nice though.
BLASPHEMY
Nob off you tosspot [editline]1st April 2012[/editline]
So removing what makes killing floor great? Story mode with a bit more atmosphere and pacing, as well as different VAs, and standard KF with current VAs with a wider range of phrases.
toning down on the accents.
Don't be bloody stupid!
What they need is more voice actors. While I love the accents, they need more variety. The same 3 voices on all of the characters gets a bit tedious.
There's 3? I thought there was only like 1
The soldiers, trader, and patty. Although, that's not counting whoever did the voices for all the zeds.
Oh, was thinking only of the soldiers
