The best go to class is Sharpshooter for new players, when you enter a game it's the only class that you'll spawn with and have a weapon that gives you bonuses for using (ignoring berserker). Simply Shoot things in the head. When you get some money behind you, feel free to swap perk and buy weapons for that perk to try them out. Stick to Beginner and possibly normal difficulty, stay away from hard and certainly steer well clear of Suicidal / Hell on Earth. Play West London / Bitoics Lab, very common maps and great for learning the basics of Killing Floor on.
Commando's also a good perk for beginners, huge grind, but it's a jack of all trades type. Wish I'd invested more time in the perk when I was new.
huge grind != good for beginners
I meant that despite the huge grind, commando can be useful for when you don't know what type of weapons you like, as they get a reload bonus for all weapons.
I meant that despite the huge grind, commando can be useful for when you don't know what type of weapons you like, as they get a reload bonus for all weapons.
True, Commando is surprisingly good with an M32.
These high-cap servers with waves of 700 or something crazy and fun mod weapons are just fantastic.
I meant that despite the huge grind, commando can be useful for when you don't know what type of weapons you like, as they get a reload bonus for all weapons.
welp, I found medic better for trying all weapons since you get to stay alive long enough to use them all.
welp, I found medic better for trying all weapons since you get to stay alive long enough to use them all.
Both are good for that purpose.
Edit the user.ini file, find the controls section, and put in "tosscash (Amount of money you want to throw) after the = sign. E.g m=tosscash 200
I will make a bind to drop all my money at once, it will be easier to give to the demolitions for the patty or new players. Thank you!
Edit the user.ini file, find the controls section, and put in "tosscash (Amount of money you want to throw) after the = sign. E.g m=tosscash 200
Now how set the tosscash in turbo? I really hate to tap the button every single time for just 1 wad. I want to keep the button press and the dosh flowing.
Now how set the tosscash in turbo? I really hate to tap the button every single time for just 1 wad. (no but seriously an autohotkey script wouldn't be hard to make, just copy those used for auto fire in cod4)
heres a support loadout everyone should try: hsg-1 + HSG (hunting shotgun) it does one hell of a mess even a fleshpound got nothing on me and by the way FIELD MEDIC: LEVEL 5
heres a support loadout everyone should try: hsg-1 + HSG (hunting shotgun) it does one hell of a mess even a fleshpound got nothing on me and by the way FIELD MEDIC: LEVEL 5
someone doesn't play HoE :3 but yeah most support load outs contain the hunting shotgun anyways, so it's not that hard to pick out the most OP one (HSG-1 cough cough) as your other shotgun.
someone doesn't play HoE :3
im afraid of it :c i can barely survive to wave 3 on hard
normal feels like a killcount competition not survival
I play on Normal because I can rarely never find a server full of competent people on Hard. And most of the time they all die on Normal anyway, yeah..
heres a support loadout everyone should try: hsg-1 + HSG (hunting shotgun) it does one hell of a mess even a fleshpound got nothing on me and by the way FIELD MEDIC: LEVEL 5
I use the HSG1 + AA12. I like the HSG1 more than the hunting shotgun.
I use the HSG1 + AA12. I like the HSG1 more than the hunting shotgun.
Yeah that's what my goal for loadout is when I go Support.
I use the HSG1 + AA12. I like the HSG1 more than the hunting shotgun.
HSG1 lacks the spike damage, which is a great "finishing move" for large specimens. AA-12 is more of a "high DPS" gun, not so good when you've got a charging FP about to grind your face off.
Hunting Shotgun and AA12 all the way. Killing fleshpounds reliably by my self is important on really high difficulties. Pack a katana for the scrakes and the world is yours.
Hunting Shotgun and AA12 all the way. Killing fleshpounds reliably by my self is important on really high difficulties. Pack a katana for the scrakes and the world is yours.
you can substitute the combat shotgun for the hunting shotgun, but I find that to be somewhat unreliable (since you can empty all 6 shells in a matter of seconds) due to recoil but the combat shotgun in general is *teh suck* due to the reload, real shame since I would love to use it more.
ive never had this much attention and fun just by shooting a door. [sp]M99 -> trader door[/sp] you might say that its a cheap laugh. but it isnt. its a really fucking expensive laugh.

But spawning with a hunting shotgun just makes it look that much better compared to the combat shotgun.
I like to throw it in when the team needs someone with a flashlight. But spawning with a hunting shotgun just makes it look that much better compared to the combat shotgun.
I'm level 4 here, but yeah, HSG is just cheaper period
I'm level 4 here, but yeah, HSG is just cheaper period
the HSG is the single greatest weapon in the game. the tight-spread firing mode and the whole 12 round magazine just make it a superior shotgun
Thanks to the flash sale I bought two copies to give to my roommates when I movie into the new apartment.
the HSG is the single greatest weapon in the game. the tight-spread firing mode and the whole 12 round magazine just make it a superior shotgun
I'm talking about the hunting shotgun... and fuck it I'm always going to call the HSG-1 the KSG from this point on fuck people not knowing what I'm talking about
the HSG is the single greatest weapon in the game. the tight-spread firing mode and the whole 12 round magazine just make it a superior shotgun
I'm not particularly fond of it. Too much money for too little improvement over the regular shotgun, in my opinion. It's not a bad weapon by any means, but I'm just not all that fond of it.
So, I finally got a copy of Killing Floor. Seems like it's going to be a blast with friends. Any general starter tips for me?
I should copy-paste my previous posts everytime a newcomer joins: Heal your mates ALWAYS. It will give you money. Aim to the head. Use the default pistol always as you can. Decapitated enemies cant use their special habilities (run, fire, rage...) and dies soon. Level all your perks for equal. Maybe in a determinate moment you could need use a perk. Buy the weapons of your perk. Those will recieve the bonus of your perk. Run with the knife, is more faster that running with any weapon. Check your weight too (more heavy-> more slow). Stay with the group. Alone you will die. Dont block the view of your mates. Crouch or move to another position. Dont fill the screen with the smoke of the explosions/fire. Run away from Fleshpounds (things with a yellow bar and maces in the hands) and Scrakes (things with a chainsaw). If you rage them shooting them, you will die (unless your group are there or you have a decent level). Cooperate.
the HSG is the single greatest weapon in the game. the tight-spread firing mode and the whole 12 round magazine just make it a superior shotgun
Recently i used again the Hunting shotgun (replacing the Combat shotgun/HSG) and is far better (although only for close combat and less space to carry stuff).
im afraid of it :c i can barely survive to wave 3 on hard
I'm level 2 on most of my perks, have played for over a year, and I still have a hard time getting through a game of Normal without dying at least once.
